Stayed 2 nights in Room #3 and bed was very comfortable but room is very small. First night every guest walking down the stairs and loud talking from check out below the room downstairs woke me up but second night wore ear plugs and slept well. Excellent location and right in the center of town but would stay in a different room then Room #3. Cable Room restaurant was excellent.

The dinner at the Chart Room was delicious and our hostess and waitress were top notch. Our check in went well. We were disappointed in the cabin we were in. It was old and outdated. The window in the bathroom was open and wouldn’t shut at all. The tub was way too deep and no mat. We had a stink bug and wasp in our room. The one pillow was way too soft. It was close in town and easy parking.

The hotel was conveniently located to the downtown with good parking and in-person check-in. The double room was as described and very clean. However, the heating/air system was loud and we could not find any explanation for its operation. We had a small table and two chairs outside on the porch of the building, which was lovely as the weather cooperated but it would have been difficult for two people to sit inside to read or have a drink as there was only one chair. The front desk was helpful in getting us reservations to a musical performance in town, which was appreciated.

We stayed for one night and would happily have stayed longer if our schedule had allowed. Our room was in the motel; it was spotlessly clean with a good size bathroom and comfortable beds. There was ample parking and an excellent bakery across the road for breakfast. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but heard that it's very good. The village is beautifully situated with lovely views and nice shops which we took advantage of for some souvenir shopping.

We stayed next to the house in a motel that had a porch where one could sit outside. The wifi was spotty and the TV buffered. Did not find a refrigerator in the small room. It was fine for a one night stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Telegraph House. Unfortunately our room was quite small with no coffee maker or fridge. Staff did help out by providing a kettle. Great location and staff were great.

Property is within walking distance of pretty much everything you want to see or experience. AC unit was very noisy and cut in and out during the night, and the bed was quite uncomfortable.

Went for a weekend. Only needed a room for sleeping. Older, historic building right in the heart of Baddeck. Recently renovated rooms. Ours was a very small room in the main building with an even smaller bathroom, very few extras like a phone or in room clock and only 2 pillows on the bed. Issue with the tv working, but someone had it corrected within 30 minutes of me bringing it to the front desks attention. Very bright and clean room with a nice partial view of the lakes. Didn’t have a chance to eat at their restaurant so I cannot comment on that. Overall, a very good place, would recommend.

While we initially thought this historic property might be charming, it is just old and in need of serious renovation. We stayed in a one-story room up the hill from the older, historic home. It was sparsely decorated and had a very musty smell. Fortunately, we had a portable AC unit in the room to make the temp bearable. Bathroom was small and although the window was frosted, a shade on the window would have been appreciated. Our friends stayed in the historic home and there was no AC unit in their room. Do your research before booking here. There seemed to be several other nicer places to stay.

It reminds me of the quaint Inns in Vermont. Everything was excellent and I had a delightful dinner in The Cable Room restaurant. Scallops were superb. Dessert to die for. A great place to stay in Baddeck.

Telegraph House is exactly what I was looking for for me and my partner on our first visit together to Nova Scotia. The people were helpful, friendly, and warm, and the accessibility to local restaurants and waterfront. I would recommend Telegraph House to anyone visiting Baddeck and would certainly return myself!

Stayed here for 2 nights with a 2 year old toddler. The room was very clean - better than what a star hotel can provide. The property is located right at the center of Baddeck, with lots of dining options within walkable distance.

I spent 5 days in Cape Breton and this was by far the best hotel I stayed at. Most of the other lodging options, especially deeper/father north into the park are “rustic” - stained tubs due to mineral water, cranky AC, mattresses that dip in the middle from heavy use. The Telegraph was none of those things. The rooms were modern on the inside and the staff was very friendly. Please stay here, you won’t regret it.

I feel that the property should fully disclose that they are really a motel without a restaurant during off season. There is an Inn, which is being renovated and a restaurant that is closed from Sept to July… so I really feel, that they incorrectly advertise themselves on expedia. This bothers me… It is in a good location, the staff are friendly and helpful and lots of parking when you’re the only guests. I was really disappointed that we did not get to stay in the historic Inn but out back in the small motor inn… I was shocked. It spoiled my holiday…We recovered but please advise others… If you book on Expedia, you end up in a motor motel and not a lovely historic Inn with some Alexander Graham Bell and 1800’s history… I am still sad, my apologies but I must caution others…
