This property is low-key luxury on a dramatic cliffside setting with breathtaking views! Ffryes Beach is picture perfect and peaceful. Our 1-bedroom with hot tub was spacious and private. Rent a car to explore this beautiful island!

Adriano and Bancroft were super friendly and welcoming. When I checked in at 5pm and interacted with both hosts, I couldn’t stop smiling. Excellent service, they’re both very detailed and charming. Ambience and aesthetics - 10/10. Would stay at Tamarind every given opportunity.

Our 5 night stay was so wonderful. Every one of the staff was so pleasant and welcoming and there to help with anything. We stayed in a one bedroom suite room which was located at the top of the hill. The mix of stairs and hills to walk was no joke but I will say the views from our room were so beautiful and probably nicer than the lower rise. They do have a shuttle but we opted for the exercise to work off all of the drinks and food. The beach was so gorgeous and clean. The location of the resort isn’t very walkable but there are a few things in walking distance that we checked like Dennis Beach Bar on Fryes Beach, Darkwood Beach and Aunti Cavells across the street. Otherwise the resort will arrange for a taxi to go anywhere. Shaine was our taxi driver and he was always available and very knowledgeable about the area and island. Jolly Harbour was the closest “town” that had the grocery store, bank machine and some good restaurants which was only about 5 min car ride. We checked out all of the areas on the island and agreed this location was the best. You can get to English Harbour in 35-40 mins for a day trip or go up to St Johns in 25-30 mins. This side of the island has the sunsets and they are absolutely beautiful at Tamarind Hills. If you want to be close to the action I would recommend staying more in Jolly Harbour but if you want a beautiful resort, beach, views, etc. Tamarind Hills is a great option. We would absolutely book again and would recommend to anyone.

This beautiful modern property is situated at the southern edge of the Ffryer’s bay on a hilly promontory, giving easy access to the beautiful beach and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The view from the breakfast area terrace is beautiful and the restaurant also has a pleasant ambience. The quality of the food is very good. Loved the convenience of it all.

Beautiful accommodations & grounds! Rooms spacious & with large balconies facing a gorgeous beach! We booked the ocean view room with jacuzzi! Very quiet & calm environment! It is built into a hill so we had to climb like 90 steps to get to our room from the beach, pool & restaurant. We actually found the road easier than the steps although definitely a bit of a workout. Do think you can arrange with the front desk to get a ride up from the lobby if you work it out with them. A couple with a 2 year old got driven up to their room. The restaurant was nice, decor excellent, servers & all staff were so friendly. However they did run out of many items on the menu & could use to ramp up the menu! Our room had a kitchenette area no stove but a few burners so if you’d want you can cook in. A grocery store is a few minutes drive away. One other item & an important one since it’s a beach resort not enough beach towels. So hang on to the ones you’re lucky to get & hang them on your patio chair to dry until you can exchange for fresh ones. Just a short walk down the beach is Dennis restaurant which was pretty good & great views! All in all even with a few issues my husband & I loved this resort for its relaxing atmosphere & beautiful surroundings!

Quiet and chill resort, but could use some clean up on grounds as they aren't that pretty to look at (though view of beach is lovely). No hot tub / spa, which was disappointing (some units have their own, which of course costs more). Learned that the property now offers a day pass for folks coming off of cruise ships, which is likely to totally change the vibe. Food was ok, could be better for the price.

Food and waitstaff not consistent

21.
Pros:
•stunning views and lovely beach
•several great waitress and bar staff, such as Brittany, Gavisha, and Kemet (Adriano at desk was very helpful)
•aesthetically beautiful bathroom
•offering of in-room spa services
•Snapper tacos, whole snapper, lamb chops snd the steak dinner were good
Cons/Suggestions:
When you’re on vacation it’s the little details that matter, like…
•asking a guest if they they want taste the wine before you pour a glass
•covering the juice at the breakfast bar (as one might expect, there are many bugs/flies)
•waitstaff knowing the menu (eg: ceviche comes with chips—one waitress said they didn’t have them, another said they did, the chef confirmed this)
•staff communication on stock of items (front desk asked that we call the restaurant for cigars; they in turn said they used to have them, but no longer do)
•robes reminiscent of a hospital gown and only one had a belt provided
•give guests more than one set of towels per person and when requested, actually bring them to the room (had to go to the front desk to follow up after 3 hrs of waiting)
Can’t say we’ll never return, as it’s a beautiful property. We’ll need to gauge the experience we’re seeking and temper expectations before coming again.

Thanks Tamarind Hills for another glorious stay. What a great job you have done developing the place… it looks terrific. The restaurant was fantastic- particularly the mahi mahi, fish tacos & tuna tartare.
Great friendly staff. Thank you.

Beautiful views. Massive amount of mountain climbing to get to and from the room. Shower was clogged the entire week of our stay. Chef was polite. The woman that checked us in was polite. Food was insanely overpriced, extremely small TINY portions, extremely limited options, accommodating at first but after the second meal special requests, even due to allergies, just seemed to be annoying. Obviously everyone is on island time, but there were multiple instances daily where we ordered things and just flat out never got them and upon asking would find out that it was just forgotten. Peaceful property. Quiet location. Not really near any shopping, outside dining, etc. Taxis to St John’s were over $120. TONS of bugs, bring bug spray!!
OH and the amount on your receipt at check out is NOT what they will charge your card. They will absolutely upcharge your card after you check out and leave the property.

They are not ready for guests. Failure to launch is the best way to put it. The wait times for food was absurd. Not enough chairs or towels for the beach. And the flies were so bad, you couldn’t eat.

Beautiful property, lovely gardens
Good room with good views
The Pilates/ yoga / nature walks were advertised in the reception as free. What was not made clear is that 4 people need to sign up for the class, for the class to go ahead. We turned up on 2 occasions to find that the class/ walk was not on.

The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The only downfall is the time of year I went being downtime and many places not open back up. Also there was issues with water and which made a couple days inconvenient especially with the outside activities and no distinct hot water gauge. It would’ve been nice to be aware so I could’ve planned accordingly prior to arrival. Better fly and mosquito maintenance if have open restaurant facilities. But as said in beginning the view and property made the trip awesome. All staff were friendly and very helpful.

1. The scenery was truly BEAUTIFUL; waking up to such every morning was just beyond breathtaking.
2. The room was aesthetically pleasing and spacious
3. Staff? friendly and comforting for sure
We would consider our visit as the perfect get away. Thank you so much for having us!

Excellent view of surrounding.

The property was absolutely beautiful. Pictures do no justice. Clean and well kept. Beautiful room for views. A lot of walking of stairs and inclines to get up and down to the beach and main pool. The only thing that wasn’t great about this place was the food. Not really good and overly expensive. No true local or authentic Carribean cuisine.

The property is gorgeous. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There is not much to do on the property and is more of a beach/relaxation vibe (the beach is beautiful & 3rd parties jet ski to the beach where you can rent for 30-60min). There is currently on 1 restaurant operating & it has a rather small menu. It is pricy for the portion size, however, that can be expected on a resort. There is a gym but no spa or "store" on the property. There is a supermarket about a 10 min drive where can find all necessities. I did enjoy my stay at Tamarind Hills and got a nice tan! The staff was awesome & knowledgeable about things to do on the Island. They were also able to book a snorkeling & a sunset cruise for us. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Tamarind Hills exceeded my expectations. I’ve been all over the world and this has been the best resort I’ve ever stayed in. The service was amazing, the workers are friendly, they seem really happy to help you in any way they can. The grounds are extremely clean & they clean the rooms thoroughly every single day. I had the ocean view jacuzzi suite & it was very sexy. The views from the jacuzzi was immaculate! This resort is def a resort for couples. I’d feel odd if I didn’t come with my husband tbh. It’s not a resort for just friends or family, it’s very romantic & perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries or baecations. I came here for my husband’s birthday and we had a blast. Mr. James was really nice! He helped us with anything we needed the entire trip, whether it was a ride to our room or a cab. He was very nice & helpful. I will say that Tamarind Hills is exactly that.. HILLS. If you’re lazy, this isn’t the place for you. The hills are really steep so be prepared to hike from your room and back. The beach is gorgeous & the pool is beautiful, it’s a plunge pool attached to the resort restaurant. The only thing that I felt could’ve been better was the menu at the restaurant, it was very limited. I wish they had more options especially for breakfast. I was looking forward to having date night dinner there every night but the lack of options made me make reservations off the resort which kinda sucked because I did not want to leave the resort. We will def be back, 10/10!

Our driver Shaine was amazing as was Gavisha "Trouble" in the main restaurant. The rest of the staff was also very lovely and gave us great recommendations on local places to eat. Nafudn at the front desk was great and helpful as well. The hotel and grounds are very nice but beware if you are staying in any suites high up on the hill - the walk is unbearable but luckily they can drive you up to your suite. Lunch and dinner was ok with limited options and very small portions while being pricey - probably main reason we only ate at the hotel handful times for dinner. Breakfast wasn't great either with limited options. Also limited amount of sunbeds with shade on the beach so if you do not get there early, then you are out of luck. We were also berated by a women claiming because she had bought a villa at Tamarind Hills she should always have a selection of sunbeds and the area of sunbeds with shade are hers - which was false and no one from the resort told us anything about that.

We spent 5 nights at the excellent Tamarind Hills. The property is set in a beautiful location overlooking Frryes beach. Our accommodation was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we required. The property itself is also well maintained with a nice restaurant and all beach facilities. Communication before and during our stay with the staff was excellent in particular Nafuna who was a star.

Very nice hotel but lacks communication…… I made reservations for my girlfriends birthday and wanted ballons/flowers delivered on her special day. Needless to say they dropped the ball! I was told “We were calling your room several times but no answer”. Why would we be in our room? We’re on vacation! Plus I figured I would get her out early so they can come drop off everything and be a surprise when we return. We were given a bottle of champagne as an apology. Special shout out to the front desk and bartenders! Very professional and made sure we were treated well… My suggestion is to use WhatsApp as a form of communication to reach hotel guest or email. Lastly please change your restaurants menu! That’s a bland Italian menu and doesn’t fit the Caribbean vibe. Sheer Rocks restaurant has a nice menu! You might want to take notes from them and for flavor…..
