It’s a great place, quiet, walking distance to beach, restaurants. The bed was hard and the WiFi terrible. Other than that it’s a wonderful place to stay

I will definitely be coming back to this Villa. Absolutely loved it very relaxing atmosphere just what my husband and I wanted.

Place was amazing. Nice little boutique hotel. Close to beach and a handful of restaurants.

This boutique hotel is filled with charm, views, comfort, and fantastic service! With only 7 rooms, you truly feel like you’re in your own little getaway! Rooms are spacious, comfortable, with amazing views of Playa la Ropa. And breakfast is delicious! Highly recommend!

Fantastic + beautiful boutique hotel a very short walk to the beach. The design touches and small attention to details are wonderful, including a very comfy bed + private balcony with breathtaking views. But the best part of this property is the manager and staff. My friend woke up sick and they helped arrange to have a doctor come and help us with her prescriptions on the day we were checking out. The property manager went above and beyond and is an incredibly kind and helpful young woman. Yes, there are stairs, which aren’t an issue at all if you’re in decent health/shape & as others mentioned, the breakfast service + food are great. They also were available to answer any questions I had immediately on WhatsApp. If you’re a fan of boutique hotels and amazing customer service, you’ll love it. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful place, booked not really knowing how great this property was. Now I will comeback very often with family. Staff food in place and beach and restaurant 3 min walk. The view was amazing from our bedroom. I definitely recommend this property

La Villa Luz is a magical oasis. The property is stunning and the staff is incredibly kind. I had the pleasure of spending a week there. They went above and beyond to take care of me and was sad to leave. They arranged transporation to and from the airport, excursions, massages, and breakfast/lunch everyday. I can't wait to visit again soon.

Everything was wonderful. The rooms unique with exceptional, gorgeous products and views. Most with private outside terraces. Please do not even get me started about the homemade breakfast . But much more than that, the entire staff seemed to want to make our holiday extra special. And they succeeded! Should mention that there is a small, circular stairway down to the pool. Please be aware some degree of fitness is required.
Other than that all you need is your heart -to give away!

Charming, unique property a block from La Ropa Beach. The code lock on the back door meant you could walk downto the beach without worrying about a key. Just needed a good memory! Staff was wonderful, the cook even stayed late to make us tacos for lunch before our flight. The garden is lovely and full of birds. Upper floors have beautiful views.
Only negatives are access oriented. There is no hand rail to get in and out of the pool and the narrow spiral staircase to the backyard is a bit daunting but we managed just fine in the end.

It was our second time staying here, we love it! Very relaxing, amazing breakfast, great people.

The property and the grounds were beautiful. It was very peaceful and I had the whole place to myself during the week, so it would have been nice to have a few other guests to chat with occasionally. My friends were right up the street, but still I was the only one at the pool or breakfast if they didn't pop over. But nights were quiet-except one with some off-property loud music late.
Made reservations for next year and hope I can convince a friend or adult kids come along. Weather was sunny and hot; I returned with some color in the middle of a Chicago winter!

Absolutely perfect place to stay in Zihuatanejo. The hotel is impeccably well-maintained, and there’s not enough praises to be sung for the staff. Perpetually pleasant, amazingly accommodating, and unbelievably helpful, everyone at La Villa Luz makes you feel like family. I can’t think of a better stay I’ve had or another place I’d rather stay, not because of exorbitant amenities or any superficial add-ons - although the amenities were beautiful and the service world-class - but simply because La Villa Luz was made to feel like home. La Villa Luz is and forever will be not our first, but only choice in Zihuatanejo.

Very beautiful classy well kept place. Super friendly staff. Only thing I would recomend is some hangers in the closet for clothes.

Property is lovely set amongst lush green gardens. Staff at check in were excellent.
Pools. But small for a hotel this size, an awful lot of light streaming into the rooms at night from outside lights and unfortunately construction next door that starts quite early.

Sunshine for our souls. From the private property, to the staff. Each provided a relaxing get away from our chaos at home. Looking out over the property, and the ocean, while eating breakfast, was my favorite part of the day- and highly recommended. Staff was attentive, helpful, and kind, but not intrusive. They were patient with our language barriers. The bed was very comfortable, and room was restful, inviting, and met our needs. We felt safe during our stay. There is a narrow spiral stair case that was hard on my wife’s knees. We did use the front door at times, and walk around. It was not a barrier, and we were happy to just take it slow. The pool had no hand rail for entry or exit, and the step down into the pool was large — about 12 inches. It was also hard on her knees. In fairness, however, we never asked if there was a solution, because we found our own solution and were just very cautious. The pool was refreshing — and we enjoyed it several times a day, especially after dark or before bed. The iguana that greeted us at the pool was my wife’s favorite part of the day. For me it was mostly the staff that greeted us the first thing in the morning, and the breakfast they provided for a small fee. There is much to do and plenty of restaurants, all within easy walking distance. We discovered late in our stay that there were many more shops and the city within a few minutes cab ride (for less than 80 pesos one way). We will return.

The property is gorgeous. Right in the back of the hotel there are many taxi's and La Ropa Beach is in walking distance.

Charming and cozy with breathtaking views. Loved the pool after the beach. Great location.

Lovely hotel with a unique flair. The breakfast, while not included in the room rate, was very good. The staff doesn’t speak much English so have your translator app handy. Would return.

Beautiful property. Great view from room balcony, out over the bay. Great fruit breakfast. Extremely helpful staff. Mairani (?) was great. We had a car problem and she actively helped us to resolve it. Very nice pool.

Amazing!Short walk to the beach. Beautiful property!!

Great service (Julio was awesome). Great breakfast. Seriously some of the best chilaquiles I have ever had. Nice, spaced out rooms. This place is awesome and I would recommend anyone to try it out. I am definitely planning to go back to Zihua and stay here.

I felt more like I was borrowing a room at someone house whom was gone for the weekend rather than staying at a hotel. I never saw anyone in the pool and think I may have seen one other hotel guest while I was there. It was very quiet, which was nice. My wife and I didn't spend much time here, only a couple of days as we came into town early, ahead of our weeklong stay at another location, and it was perfect for that: I don't know if I would want to stay for a week as I might go stir crazy. Then again, if you treat a hotel as more of a place to keep your stuff and sleep rather than a place to hang out and watch TV (there was no TV in our unit, which was fine for us, just noting it), then this could be the place for your as it well located within walking distance of the beach, an Oxxo, and great restaurants.

From the moment you enter the private secured grounds, you know this is a serene beautiful oasis. The grounds are impeccably maintained, with only 7 rooms, you feel as if this is your private retreat from the Beach, which is a 1 minute walk. Exemplary

Positives: the location is a quick and easy walk to the best beach in the area and the hotel itself, including the pool area and the grounds, were very clean and well-kept. Service was helpful and generally available. The negatives were our room itself--our room didn't have a true window so to speak so it felt a little like a bunker. It did have these cut-outs which meant light streamed in at dawn though, which was a draw back. We had basically no reliable internet service in our room, which was probably the biggest negative. We also had an issue at check-in, where we weren't able to check-in when expected because of an issue in the room. Earlier communication about that would have been preferable, and I would make sure you double-check that your room will be available when you arrive. The issue with the room (the flooring) was minor and did not really effect our stay.

Anie, Baldo, Tina, and Juan, are all great. This is my second holiday season here and we plan on many more to follow. They all are always willing to help. They helped us move luggage, cooking and delivering breakfast, pick up and drop off at airport, schedule in room massage, book reservations, exchange currency and much more. You just ring a bell and they appear ready and willing to help. The rooms are clean and fresh and the grounds are kept in pristine condition. My family has stayed in the master suite and several other rooms and they are all great. It is only a two minute walk to the best beach in the area, la playa ropa. Anie is ready to assist with any request and is a seasoned professional. If you dont stay here, you are missing out. P.S. the view in the master suite is unrivaled, treat yourself.

There was no TV, a little disappointing but the room was nice and cozy.

I had the (mis)fortune of executing my stay during COVID-19 quarantine. The hotel was completely empty except for the two rooms we booked. Nonetheless, the experience was superb on all fronts.
The service was immaculate from the excellent breakfast at WHATEVER hour we desired, to the 24 hour access to the swimming pool.
Juan and Ovaldo were always accessible and the room refrigerator was always stocked with cold beer.
The area is very nice and a lot of dining establishments, but they were only open for takeout given COVID 19. There is also a Convenience store very nearby.
I will definitely rebook again as this is the best hotel value I have found in Zihuatanejo.

The hotel is beautifully detailed, excellent craftsmanship. Rooms are clean, private, and have outdoor terrace. Service is friendly and helpful.

Very cool place. Felt like we were in a tree house in Mexico.

This place is super great! The front desk took great care of us. She was always available and had great recommendations. I stayed the first half of my trip here and the second at Krystal Ixtapa. Next year I will be staying here the entire trip.

Beautiful boutique Hotel with ocean views of the bay. Buildings are well kept and clean, feels like a home, great location, just a block from the best beach in Zihuatanejo. Host and staff are very friendly and accomodating, would recommend 100% and will definitely stay again! Thank you!

Extremely nice, very cool architecture, clean, great service. Wife can't wait to go again.

The property was very clean. The landscaping of the pool area was excellent and inviting. There are a lot of stairs to navigate for breakfast.

This is a great little boutique hotel, really sort of a pensione, or inn. It is done in the style of an open-air villa with two large common areas, one soft of a living room and the other a kitchen and dining area. The quality of the facilities are mostly very nice, but you should also be aware that this is not really a hotel - there is nobody at a desk waiting for your requests, no food on premises except for a very simple fruit and coffee offering in the a.m. With only seven rooms, the place is quite chill and ideally located within a less than 5 minute walk down to La Ropa beach, the best beach (mix of people, things to do and scenery) in Zihua. You can hear the waves crash at night from the rooms. And it is Mexico, so the bathrooms are a bit more third world, but very clean and functional. Here's a tip: skip the nearby $600US/night Thompson, stay at Villa Luz, buy the Thompson beach pass ($70 US deposit against your food/bev that day) and spend the rest of $100's that you'll save each day on trying cool restaurants in Zihua.
