This hotel is in a very nice area, walking distance to most tourist attractions. Many restaurants are within walking distance.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Having free espresso machine in the lobby is very nice! Coffee is excellent.
Here are the things that I didn't appreciate:
1. In the listing it stated that on-site parking is available at a daily cost of 25 euros. When we arrived, it turned out that the on-site parking is 1 kilometer away and cost went up to 28 euro per day. Serious inconvenience on a rainy day!
2. Bathroom! The shower is a little room with a glass door. But when you step out of the shower, you just stand on a podium in front of the sink and large mirror, as always, but there is no door! There were 3 of us, and it was very awkward to come out of the shower when my 20 year old son was in the room. No privacy whatsoever!
3. Little things, like
- no outlets anywhere close to the bed, so charging our phones was not very convenient;
- no place to put our suitcase, not even luggage stand that usually is available in every hotel. We had no choice but to open our suitcases right in the floor.
4. The room was large, but there was not a single chair. There is no place to sit down other than on a bed, which was uncomfortable.
Other than that, the hotel is nice, the employees are very nice.

Not far from center of the city, spacious and beautifully designed rooms, very clean, helpful staff, great breakfast options. And if you are into wine, the hotel is partnering with Austrian winemakers and you can taste variety of them.

If you’re looking for a spacious room for a good nights sleep, this place is great - the bed is comfortable, the room gets dark and is very large by European standards. The location is good for proximity to the center of the city and the sites. The downsides were there is no view from the room, and some of the amenities are lacking— the shower seemed to have some damage and we couldn’t get warm water out of the waterfall shower head, the mini fridge didn’t work which on hot summer days is a disappointment (they seemed to forget to come fix it after we reported the issue) - that said, the AC was top notch, reception was friendly, and they offer a great service in that the hotel is wine themed and if you’re staying 2 nights you can forgo a room cleaning and get a free glass of wine per person, this I thought was a lovely touch. Overall would recommend for the location and quality of sleep but noting some factors that might impact your choice.

Excellent service from the time we checked in until we checked out. Rooms are clean and beds were comfortable. There’s also a few great restaurants just down the street from the hotel away from all the tourists in the old town.

Great place to stay in Vienna! Wonderful location that’s walkable! Clean and safe! Staff were attentive and helpful when one of our family members needed help finding a pharmacy for an injury. They went out of their way to give us ice packs too!

The room didn’t look as the images and we were surprised to see the bathtub placed behind the bed. Very little privacy, since there wasn’t any door to the bathroom. The cleaning was not sufficient, we found several hairs and crumbs in the bed. There was a 50x50 cm big undefined stain on the matress in this room that seemed to belong in a redlight district (I would imagine).
Luckily, the kind receptionist found us a better room that was supposed to be premium but to us looked like a standard room at any cheap hotel.
Only one outlet in the vicinity of the bed and that didn’t work. That made it hard to charge your phone during night. Also the light in the shower was not working.
Air condition and location was great though and staff were friendly.

Quietly located in a side street within walking distance of the city centre, very excellent breakfast

We stayed in a family room for two nights in June when we first arrived to Vienna. It’s easy to catch a tram and then the tube to the city center yet the neighborhood is quiet and very cute, with dining, market and shopping options right outside the hotel. The staff was nice and our room was very comfortable

Had a wonderful stay overall. Staff were exceptional. Great breakfast buffet and wine bar was excellent. Great location with easy access to dining and shopping. Very quiet and restful area. Hotel room overall was very clean. My husband is very allergic to mold and this was unfortunately a bit of an issue. Wasn’t visible but did flare up his allergy - likely that the air didn’t circulate enough. However, it is an older building and that does somewhat come with the territory. Otherwise, great trip and definitely recommend.

The Rathaus Wein & Design is a modern hotel of middling quality tucked in side street approx 10 minutes walk from the U bahn at the Austrian parliament.
The room was clean and spacious but oddly designed.
The toilet and shower were in separate rooms which would have been good had there been a hand basin in the toilet. Sadly there was not so it was necessary to open three doors and walk through the bedroom to get from one to the other in order to wash your hands after going to the toilet. Not very hygienic!
On the positive side the area around the hotel had numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs offering a range of breakfast or dinner choices suitable for vegetarian and carnivorous tastes. We were not tempted by the €25 euro per person cost of breakfast in the hotel.
On the one night we attempted to drink in the hotel bar it was not properly staffed and could only offer wine or beer (no spirits or cocktails).

Such a clean hotel. Our room, 208, slept our family of three and was super quiet and spacious. You can easily walk to all the major city central sites from the hotel or ride public transportation which is just a few blocks away from the hotel. We didn’t use the breakfast offerings or bar, but they looked great. We did order coffee and tea to our room each morning which is a separate charge (not free) and is delivered within ten minutes or less. We would stay at this property again.

Hotel was OK.
Good location and good breakfast.
Bed was comfortable (ish) but the pillows are typical of Europe…..thin and unforgiving with no support. No plugs either side of the bed which made phone charging a pain.
Shower was poor. Difficult to control hot/cold and the main head didn’t work, so resorted to using the handheld at chest height.
Overall it was OK but can’t say I’d overly recommend it.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rathaus W&D. All staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and acted professionally. Our room was wonderfully appointed, stylish, spacious, clean and comfortable. Toilet, sink and shower area is wonderfully designed. The street in front is fairly quiet and pedestrian friendly and the neighborhood has a mix of retail (including 2 nearby grocers) and apartments. We used the nearby tram daily to reach Vienna's city center (though this distance is also walkable). This hotel was an excellent value and would highly recommend. It is a smaller hotel in terms of number of rooms and has a single small elevator for guest use. Be sure to enjoy a glass of wine at the hotel's bar poured by one of their knowledgeable staff.

Hotel was as advertised. No surprises. One problem in our room was no outlets near the bed!
The restaurant’s breakfast was a little pricey. It was a good spread, but If you wanted just eggs you still paid Euro 20!
Very helpful hotel staff. When we asked for a coffee maker in our room we got it right away.
Our TV did not work for the first couple of days. Problem with the cable.

The staff at the Hotel was very caring and helpful! The breakfast was amazing and would be hard to beat from a more "up-scale" Hotel. The coffee, oh the coffee is the best ever of anywhere. It was great staying there for two weeks 50 years ago and even better this time with a 6 day stay!!!

This has been my go-to overnight in Vienna for a year and I’ve spent thousands of Euros staying there these twelve months. It’s changed. The personal and friendly staff have been central, the local food specialties, especially the wine, make the place special. First they eliminated free tea and coffee if you skip the breakfast—it was a sweet way to make the lobby social and to grab caffeine if you skip the breakfast—and did not replace this with the in-room coffee/tea service that is really standard in even middle-grade hotels. But the rude treatment by check-in staff is what did me in for this hotel. It began as a misunderstanding (probably language-based) on check-in and I confessed my irritation, and after that I just felt terribly uncomfortable there the whole time. I found myself avoiding the room because of the awkward feeling with the new staff. It was a genuine crash of a yearlong love affair with this place. The others in the chain (Salzburg) are still FABULOUS.

Fabulous location, friendly staff, and the room was a great size and layout. Would book again.

The hotel was generally ok. The room I was in looked a little “worn out”. Paint was badly scuffed/chipped in various places and just looked a bit tired.
But, staff was fantastic. And, location was great.

Very nice hotel, stylish and reasonably price, in a non-touristy neighborhood that is still close to attractions. Staff is extraordinary and the breakfast terrific if you like to eat a lot. Specializes in relationships with local and regional vintners and also butchers, cheese makers, everything.

We will definitely stay at the Hotel Rathaus again. Great "hidden away" location in a wonderful neighborhood that's close to everything but not in the middle of the touristy chaos.
The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, nice location. The room was big, and the interior fresh and new, even tho the building seems old, everything was well kept and fresh.

This is the perfect place to stay in Vienna. On a quiet road away from the noise, yet 5-8 mins walk to the Rathaus Weinachtsmarkt and a similar distance to the U-Bahn for getting around.
The comfort rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated. We didn't have breakfast but our friends were happy with the content and quality. Complementary Coffee is perfect!
The staff are brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. I developed a chest infection in the twilight hours and was looked after with plenty of honey/Lemon.
All in all, great place with good staff.

What a wonderful hotel this is. Although slightly out of town, it was very close to the large Christmas market and was well located to get around. A nice quiet neighbourhood so no loud traffic noise to disturb. The staff were so friendly and attentive, helping us with anything we needed. Would definitely return and recommend.
