Absolutely stunning property and service! Beautiful house on a stunning setting overlooking vineyards and the mountains. Extremely friendly hosts offering cheese platters and wine/beer in the late afternoon and amazing breakfasts each morning. They were also very knowledgeable and helpful in regards to the area and local vineyards. We were also welcomed by two very cute little dogs. Definitely recommend Gibbston House to anyone wanting a bit out luxury while exploring the area.

We had the most fabulous stay! The entire experience was way beyond what we were expecting. It was extremely comfortable, inviting, clean, spacious. Mary and Terry went above and beyond making us a spectacular, personalized breakfast each morning. Each evening, they offered amazing wine and charcuterie plate. We will treasure our stay always!

Excellent location amongst the many wineries in Gibbston Valley. Mary and Terry were wonderful hosts, who gave us some great tips on what to see and do - awesome for us as first time visitors in NZ. Would definitely stay again.

Gibbston House is one of the loveliest places I’ve ever stayed. In an absolutely stunning idyllic location amongst the vineyards about 30km away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown, hosts Mary and Terry make you feel right at home with welcome drinks and nibbles in the evening, a hearty breakfast in the morning, and lots of conversation and laughter in-between. Eleven out of ten stars!

Fabulous owners who make you very welcome to their wonderful home. Our night there was a great way to end our experience in South Island. A very quiet location a short ride from Queenstown but with a few very nice Wineries and Restaurants close by.

As the hosts had been delayed overseas, they more than compensated by having their representative meet us upon arrival, who made us most welcome, and arranged food for our stay and showed us through our apartment, complete with a wonderful vase of sweet smelling lillies. The wine and cheese were much appreciated for supper and breakfast supplies were amply provided. Our hosts contacted us from overseas several times and upon their return. The apartment was well appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Lovely rural environment set amongst vineyards. Lovely Autumn Colours.

Mary and Terry run a fine 5 star establishment!! The house is a year old with a view of the vineyards and mountains which is magnificent!!! While hubby was at the Wanaka Air Show last weekend my labrador service dog and I were on our huge deck off a generous room with gorgeous ensuite (which included a double vanity as well as a huge tub and shower), enjoying the perfect weather and solitude of the breeze cooling us throughout the day. When I needed a break from the sun, I was able to catch up with my favorite House and Garden tv shows on the large flat screen TV. In the evening lovely restaurants were nearby in Gibbston and Arrowtown where we enjoyed sumptuous meals and wine - additionally our hosts provided wine and cheese on our private deck or in the well appointed guest lounge with mountain views as well as magnificent breakfasts in the dining area which took us through our day. We can't say enough about the excellent hospitality on offer by owners Mary and Terry Houghton and look forward to returning in the near future as Gibbston House is conveniently located only a short drive to Wanaka, and our favorite haunts of Queenstown, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes and Glenorchy!!!!

We were very lucky to get a reservation on very short notice at Gibbston House because the whole Queenstown, New Zealand area is a huge tourist attraction in the summer and everything in that city was booked solid. So finding this delightful B&B just 15 km away, situated in the middle of scenic vinyards and nestled in jagged mountains was extremely fortunate. Innkeepers Mary and Dennis are delightful people who are attentive, friendly, helpful, and they offer extremely delicious and bountiful breakfasts. Our only disappointments were (1) the quite small size of the rooms (although we were upgraded to a large room on the first of our two nights, which was very welcome!), and (b) the poor TV reception in the room... very limited number of stations and confusing remote controls. Otherwise, we highly recommend this B&B and would definitely go back!

We had one of the greatest stays at this place during our entire trip to New Zealand in 10 days. The host was wonderful in accommodating all our needs. We had a lovely breakfast with them. Rooms were big and clean. This place is located near the wineries and in the arms of mother nature. It is 5 min drive from the main highway and we did not have any problem in finding the hotel
