The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the free tea and coffee and the breakfast was filling. The air conditioning in the room chilled.it quickly. Only concern was that the building work on it started early in the morning. From an 8 year old: I loved the pool so much.

What a bargain. Super friendly staff, nice pool, and close to the beach. Breakfast tipico was great. We felt safe and welcome. Our room was…. Rustic. But it got the job done.

Excellent value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Apologetic for construction to repair apparent storm damage. Will definitely be coming back to stay again for a longer stretch. Very close to beach and downtown.

Nice breakfast with help-yourself coffee. Super staff. Peaceful central gathering area and pool. Perfect location surrounded by plenty of dining, beach, grocery, tour, misc options. Had a wonderful time!

This hotel was very basic but very nice and served the purpose for the price. The rooms were big and clean. There was hot water, which we found out was not common everywhere in Costa Rica. The property was beautiful and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I needed a hair dryer and the girl at the reception gave me hers to use. That was super nice! We asked for blankets since it got chilly with the AC and they provided us with them. Anything we needed and asked for was given to us! Breakfast options were limited but delicious, so no complains there. The hotel was only a block away from the beach and we walked everywhere. Overall, we had very good experience and were glad we stayed there!

Chilled out spot popular with Ticos easy 5 min walk from the beach. Made up of private accommodations but definitely has more of a hostel vibe. Rooms are pretty rustic with thin walls and shades on only some of the windows. Door lacked a deadbolt. Only had a twist lock on the knob so didn’t feel terribly secure. Staff were friendly. Street parking is easy and there is an excellent restaurant right around the corner with solid breakfast and dinner options.

The hotel has basic accommodations, but the staff was excellent especially Keidy and Juan. Lots of excursions to choose from which can be booked from the hotel. The breakfast was tasty and helped start the day right. Just a five minute walk from the beach and close to many restaurants. Restaurants are pricey, but there are lots of choices. A pizza will run you $20 USD. Will definitely be back.

Pension playa Samara was a fantastic place to stay at. Very well located, close to the beach but not in the middle of noisiness. Facility is simple but clean and confortable. The staff are so helpful and will book a variety of excursions upon request. The pool is clean. They lend you towels for the beach as needed. Many Tico come to this hotel so you really soak in the culture. Breakfast is traditional and delicious. I highly recommend and hope to return if I ever have to occasion again.

This place has a nice ambiance, comfortable and quiet. 4 minutes walk to the beach, and within 5 min walk to dozens of restaurant. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in Samara so much that we stayed 2 extra nights. The town is chill with great food and Pura vida vibes! Not too touristy, but still lots to do. The pension is a little older and outdated, but the staff is wonderful and the amenities are good. They were so helpful and friendly! There’s a great pool, games, AC, hot water, and a great substantial breakfast included. We had everything we could need for a great time at a fabulous price! We’d love to come back.

It was a lovely place. Jocelyn is an excellent hostess. The amenities are stark, but just perfect for a small little hotel. One could use a blanket in the room, and maybe some updated sheets. Otherwise, all was lovely.
