breakfast was weak.best to stay upstairs.quiter during breakfast time.

What it isn't: An easy access facility. A hotel chain with membership levels. Close to any Highway.
What it has: Charm. Coolness. History.
What it's made of: Wood.
Overall: Relaxing in a very social atmosphere. Liked the breakfast. Slept like a dog.

It was a beautiful stay.

It was my first time at a B & B and I absolutely loved it. Check in was a breeze. It was cozy, serene and so homey. Breakfast was a beautiful spread and the hosts were very friendly. I recommend it highly and when I go back I’ll be booking my stay at Squibb House again!!

This is such a beautiful spot! Unique! One can feel the history and the is very convenient
4.7
A lovely visit! Quaint 1877 house and “modernized” well. Great staff and community.

Everything about this place was a gem! The staff was attentive, made self-checkin easy and so convenient. When we arrived there was a plate of snacks to welcome us. The room decor and bed in the parlor room was clean and very cozy, my daughter loved the painting of the most. Breakfast great and was served on time as mentioned with staff available the whole time making sure we had enough to eat. Definitely planning to return to the Squibb House and stay longer than one night.
4.7
Quaint historic b&b. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Road noise and guests visiting on the front porch are easily heard through the old windows.
4.7
We enjoyed the historic home. The weather was perfect.
No a/c and the shower head needed to be cleaned
4.7
We stayed in the Louise room, it was quite comfy (bed is great!) Breakfast was good, and shops/restaurants are walkable. This was our 1st B& B, and we were very pleased.
4.7
I highly recommend for anyone wanting a quiet relaxing stay in Cambria.

Historical house with old photos/info was much appreciated, as was "Black's Barn" next-door with inviting sitting room, games/game tables along with yummy breakfast buffet. Both secure buildings offered 24/7 coffee/tea, even frigs for guests to use.
4.7
This is a beautiful property the staff are wonderful the breakfast is great! The owner Bruce was
Around and gave us great history on the place. Going back in July.
4.7
This is a wonderful place. The location is right in the heart of old east Cambria, with many excellent restaurants nearby. Service great. Breakfast is very well done by a friendly staff.
The house is very old, with some steep stairs, so if that's not your thing the upstairs rooms won't be your kind of place.
4.7
Super friendly and a cute place!

For the Squibb house the room was clean and quaint. There was coffee, tea and water for everyone to use in the kitchen area. The fridge looked like it not had been cleaned in some time.
The shower in the Louise room was broken at the base near temperature knobs, so water sprayed out everywhere when turned on. The overhead light for the bathroom also did not work.
Everything else in the room was in working order and it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. Walls are thin so noise from the street and other rooms can be heard easily. I would recommend for a brief stay to anyone in the area.

5 family members stayed at the Squibb house. We met the owner and received excellent advise on sites in the area. Pleasant friendly staff. Great history. I stayed in the Louise Room for nostalgic reasons. Lovely
4.7
It was very comfortable and located near some very nice shops and restaurants.
But would have liked to have a tv in the room.
4.7
Small-town feel, in the best senses of the word ... quiet, safe, all residents were friendly and helpful ... already thinking of coming back

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Customer service was excellent from checkin to checkout. The morning breakfast was outstanding and the gathering room was well appointed. We stayed in The Hickory room (The Barn) which was slightly smaller than expected but very clean and quiet which was welcome. The only reason we didn't give The Squibb House 5-Stars was the bed. The mattress was exceptionally soft and offered little support, (I'm 6' and weigh 200 lbs) so after 3 nights my back was toast. Mattress needs to be replaced. I hope the other rooms aren't similar. Next time I'll need to call to find out which room has a firmer bed for my sleeping requirements.

My husband and I stayed in the Hickory Room on our anniversary trip. The room was as pictured. It was spacious, clean and we slept comfortably. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and conversations with other guests as we sat around the large dining room table. There are also several smaller tables for guests who want to each by themselves. The hosts were very friendly. We loved the town of Cabria especially the restaurants Robin's (a few doors down from the Squibbs Houses and Madeline's.

The 2nd floor Oak room was superb. Amish furniture throughout. Stylish decor. Comfortable window seat. The shower was spacious and modern. Super clean. The balcony is a great quiet plus, though the concrete surface is broken in 2 places. Parking is on a public street. The breakfast had a limited personal touch with the small home made egg dishes, otherwise it was undistinguished with no fresh muffins or pastries. Too many items from Costco when local honeys etc are available and would be supportive of local producers. To feel more pampered, which the price suggests, would be good. Otherwise the property is an absolute gem. We would love to stay again.

Outside—grounds are immaculate! Very well cared for, greeted by sweet little garden.
There is no personal check-in, ostensibly because of Covid (really?) 😔 Instructions taped to door, and key hidden. (By the way, if you miss real keys, you’ll like this place.) Hubby and I agreed this is like going back in time (think great grandparents)—and we’re grandparents already. If you like quaint and antique and don’t mind giving up convenience, this is your spot—think creaky floors, pipes that make sounds like a foghorn (sometimes during the night), no television (that’s right), and no maid service/towels/linens.
But then it is offset by the friendliest caretaker who provided the yummiest breakfasts, snacks and tea in the afternoon/evening and great conversation.

I seriously hated the idea of on street parking but once there, well, let's face Cambria ain't the big city and there was nothing to worry about. I stayed in the Cherry room and it was an absolute delight. I especially liked having a private entrance. Lots of choices for dining in walking distance.
4.7
We had a great stay. The space was beautiful, quiet, breakfast was spot on each day, even with dietary constraints for some. We definitely will go back. Chelsea and Len were great.
4.7
The place magical 👍loved it Tiffany the house host was amazing lovely friendly and accommodating.
The place reminded you of Somewhere in Time . Hidden treasure. Will return and try the other rooms.
4.7
Room was fine if you were expecting a bed and breakfast with no TV. The third person slept in the loft part of the room with no windows. The morning noise was loud because loft/ balcony was not partianed off completely. We had a private Bedroom. The French doors provided a cool breeze, but full of webs. Would I stay again? For the price yes, but not with 3 adults. Since there’s not alot of people staying, you could cook the eggs to order.

Everyone at Squibb house was nice and friendly and accommodating

This is an historical building..not many bells and whistles…but fantastic for history buffs. We liked it a lot!
4.7
The room was spacious, the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom looked brand new. Best night sleep in a long time. The breakfast was fantastic, new items being brought out throughout the mealtime. We loved our experience at Squibb Houses so much, we just booked the same room for our trip back home. You can't get a better B&B experience than Squibb Houses!
4.7
If you are looking for a real B&B, Suibb House is the one: real breakfast, not like others with a basket with limited and not nice food. Chelsea was so nice and the breakfast was delicious and more than enough.
Very clean and cozy rooms. Ned at the store next door, also so helpful and kind. We really enjoyed our stay at the Squibb House.

What a gem
Very special

The advertisement for this place is misleading. Arriving, there was no one to let us in - just a letter with instructions. the beds have spring like mattresses. the shower is old and difficult to handle. my wife got burned when she tried to open the water. the breakfast is most disappointing. in the advertisement it is described as superb. it is the pits. it is a buffet style with two things: eggs and bacon. when i wanted to take another portion of bacon - there was no more. do not read the reviews of several years ago. it may have been great once - but now, i would rather have stayed at Motel 6. the advertisement is misleading

The room was average, the rattan chairs not very comfortable, but the Black Barn is both comfortable and beautiful. And there are also comfortable seats in the lobby where one could sit. The hot water and Keurig are nice, as well as the little cookies.
The shower in Parlor room needs repair, it sprouts water on the side so hair gets wet.

Terrific service, wonderfully friendly staff. Convenient downtown Cambria location.

Loved it. We will stay again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay. Our room was comfortable and cosy, nothing needed fixing and the food was great. A special thanks to Tiffany, who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Even though we seemed to be in the heart of East Cambria, we found it to be quiet and peaceful in the evenings. It was great to be able to walk to the many shops and restaurants that surround this B&B.
