Excellent service, great food, hot pools. Tranquil setting. Highly recommended. Thank you

The hotel is in a beautiful location and has 6 hot spring pools on site that are very enjoyable. The room was very large, with comfortable beds. The room and hotel areas (like restaurant) were very cold! Even though there was a fireplace in the room it was small and didn’t provide heat throughout our time there. The guests have to wear heavy coats in the dining room. Bring a bathrobe to wear from the room to the pools… it’s very cold. They don’t have a concierge to provide information about local tours and if you don’t speak Spanish it is difficult to get around.

TV was not working. There was no towels so I had to ask for them. I never received hand towells.

The welcoming was kind of chaotic. They just took us to the room and did not explain how the place works. We came back again to ask. There are 4 pools (1 cold and 3 warm pools). The cabins are located around one pool. Since there is music playing and people talking, the cabins are quite loud.

Only one towl per person which you use for the baths and the shower and in the room is no hock where you can hang them to dry. Also no towl for the face, so better to bring own ones. The shower doesn't get really warm. The staff is only one person speaking English, the others try not to be seen by you. Nobody shows you the baths and everyone gives you a different closing time. Sad that they can't tell anything about the area and send you to a information station.

The room had bugs when we arrived. 2 bumblebees & dozens of moths & flies we had to deal with. The door was not sealed & there was a 1/2 in gap all around where things could get in. Service was extremely slow - we waited over an hour after ordering (at 4pm, only 2 other people there) & although food was very good, it was not worth the wait. If I could do it all over, I’d order things 1.5hrs before I wanted them - food, drinks, pillows, towels, fire turned on, water turned on - everything. I would not stay here again

This was a wonderful location. Beautiful mountains around and wonderful pools to relax in. The kitchen is prepared for almost anything. With many food options. This was an excellent stay!

Excellent fireplace. Beds are amazing. Can have your own tub but you must arrange it. Hot springs are basically from morning to night. You can literally have it all to yourself. Plus, you can dip yourself in cold water then walk to hot water to immerse yourself. Food are first class and everything is affordable though don’t expect mixed drinks. If there is a hitch, they don’t open until 7:55-8:30 am in the morning. That is the problem because they don’t unlock the gate during those time and you need to take a taxi or a trip back to the airport. Oh. They do have their hiking trail but don’t walk on it when it is very muddy. It is an excellent alternative to much more expensive resort especially if you are on a budget

Amazing service! The owner went above and beyond, even drawing a map for us for an outing.

There was a 60 USD difference between a double room at Termas Papallacta and this one, but the places cannot be compared. While the service was polite, the food really good and the place clean and in working condition, Termas Papallacta are just *gorgeous*. This place is not. But it can be a good substitute if, like us, want to spend the night in the area and there is no availability in the Termas. Safe walk (1km or a $2 cabs ride) to the Termas.

The property looks modest from the outside, but is actually quite charming. The food in the restaurant is terrific, the beds are comfortable, and the staff . . . they are just the best. We were in Ecuador during a series of protests that shut down most of the country's highways. We couldn't get back to Quito and for a while it looked at though we might not be able to get to the airport. Pablo and the other members of the staff were calm, kind, and super helpful. They made sure we were comfortable, showed us where to hike, fed us well, and helped organize our transport back to the airport. God bless them!
The Hosteria Pampallacta is a 5-minute walk from the larger Termas Papallacta. Those pools are delightful and worth the time and entry fee. The Termas Papallacta Hotel is beautiful, but we found the Hosteria more homey and quaint -- especially for half the price of the more expensive resort. And the area around Papallacta is simply stunning.

We liked the service and the restaurant, the staff is profesional and the food is very tasty, if you like a drink the mojito is 10/10, there is no sauna in the property and at the time we were int the premises one of trhee pools was in maintenance..the place is great to relax

Most probably because of covid and low season, I had the outside thermal pool to myself. Really nice and soothing. The staff was amazing, lit up the fireplace and filled private bath in my room with hot spring water while I was having dinner at the restaurant. Food was great, both dinner and breakfast. Awesome place !

Staff was rude, they did not care about the customer. A member of the staff walked into our room without even knocking on the door. Then the owner was making excuses for the guy instead of apologizing to us. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had on a hotel. Do not recommend staying here. A guy may walk into your room in the middle of the night.

What a beautiful hosteria. The stone work to the hotspring fed tub in the room to the fire place. We went to dinner and came back to a warm fire in the fire place and a tub full of hot spring water. And the 3 on-site pools were beautiful. The biggest pool was pretty hot and had a small slide for kids and a nearby cold plung. Then there's a small pool in a building that feels like bathing in a cave. One of the things we wanted to do in Papallacta was birdwatching and this place delivered. Right from the hostel is a hiking trail up the forested slope behind the property. So many beautiful birds. And for breakfast the waiter had no problem providing us a delicious vegan meal. Only thing missing was an espresso machine.

Wonderful hotel 200 meters from the main ‘termas’. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The two pools are great and very private. The dining room was a little cold, but the breakfast was delicious.

The food is good+
BUT if you want to pay by bank card, should to plus 12% additional commission fee.
There is no bank around the hotel, we can only use bank card to pay. 12%! This is the place with the highest commission fee in the Ecuador.
In the night, the smoke from the fireplace blew into the room, sleep was not good.

The rooms were very cold, with no additional heat. The service was spotty , with not enough staff, though the staff were nice. It was bleak, (But cheap) incomarison to the Termas de Pappallacta resort up the road.

We LOVED this place! A fire place in our bedroom and a huge bathtub filled with water from the hot spring. The staff was so friendly and kind and the area is quite lovely. I wish we spent more than 1 night here.

The property was wonderful. While at dinner the stag would set the fireplace hi g on the room and draw a hot mineral bath for after dinner relaxation.
