Great place to stay. Very friendly staff.

Inn at the Gorge is located in a historic building. The room was cute, eclectic art decor. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Our hostess was amazing, she greeted us when we arrived, had an endless supply of chocolate chip cookies available in the lobby, greeted us cheerfully in the morning. The breakfast was amazing and filling. The only down side to our room (we stayed in the Gorge Room) was that the bathroom was separate from our room- we had to cross the dining area to reach it. Many restaurants within 1 mile of the property

Breakfast was wonderful. Virginia was very professional and polite. The room that we were given was old, and not updated. We slept on a Murphy bed which was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was through the dining room. About 30 feet away. The place was rated 4 and 1/2 stars at trip advisor. We are still wondering how they got that rating.

Great place if you don’t want to see or deal with anyone. Breakfast is average but great location away from noisy train

Overall I think Inn at the Gorge is a lovely spot. We arrived and we’re able to enter with the code provided, unfortunately the door code to our room wasn’t working though. We called the phone number provided and could hear the phone ringing, but no one answered. We also sent a text (as instructed to do) but no one responded. We went out to dinner and by the time we returned, we still hadn’t heard from anyone. We ended up just exploring around the inn and found an employee in the basement area and asked him to help. It seemed as though he didn’t regularly work there, but was able to get us into our room. We added on the breakfast as suggested by other reviews, unfortunately the food wasn’t anything spectacular. We had an omelet with toast both mornings, but it was nothing like some of the breakfasts in the photos. It was nice to get served in the communal area, but I wasn’t overly impressed. There was fresh coffee brewed, but half of the mugs looked like they still had coffee on the rim and hadn’t been cleaned properly. I was a little disappointed in our time there.

Beautiful inn, a bit confusing without anyone there to greet us but the instructions worked well.
Breakfast in my opinion is simply over thought simply offer scrambled eggs home fries and toast, a bagel with cream cheese this seems to be the same issue at most inns we have stayed at, when our breakfast was served they forgot to give us utensils to eat with oops.
We definitely would stay here again as it really is a great small business!!

Beautifully restored mansion into a multi room B&B. Very nice, quite and an amazing breakfast.

The hotel was quite nice, but although it was explained to me that my bathroom would be a short walk down the hall, it wasn't explained that the "hall" included the front entrance and the dining room and front lounge or that the room was surrounded by the main outdoor porch on 2 sides. Or the the bathroom would be open to all guests. A little awkward and lacked any privacy, plus it was noisy at night when other guests hung out on the porches.

A little bit quirky and 100% charming. Michael and his staff were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel like we were guests in their home. The room was comfy, the large wrap around porch was a super place to hang. And the breakfasts were excellent! Fresh local ingredients with special twists like a frittata with cherries, gorganzola and chorizo. We loved it there.

It was a unique experience. The inn was very comfortable and inviting. I would definitely recommend adding the breakfast, it was more then worth it. Within walking distance from food and drinks.

Few things to know ahead of time that we wish we had known.
1. Noise from other guests. We were awakened after very long day from a nap after checking in by other guests. Gave up trying to rest from noise
2. Coffee bar- no spoons, no stir sticks. Had we not had our own spoons couldnt make coffee. Only sweetener was one diet one. We went out last night to get what we needed. Coffee was not fresh.
3. Room smelled musty on arrival.
4. No hair dryer
5. Bed felt like sleeping on plywood. It is very, very, very firm with out the pillow top feel. Little to no give.
Bottom line- Motel type stay for expensive hotel price.

We enjoyed our two night experience at Inn at the Gorge. Lots of character in this old house. The artwork was beautiful! The breakfasts were delicious. The location was perfect for exploring Hood River and local spots around this fun area of Oregon.

We stayed in the Terrace Room at the Inn at The Gorge. I picked this room as it has a king bed (very comfy) and outside patio/terrace area. I was disappointed as was told the hot tub was closed due to new health dept regs. Also area outside the room had seating but nothing had been wiped down for spring. Otherwise the Inn is a lovely house and make sure you read each room description to get what you want. The bathroom in our room was, remodeled and absolutely gorgeous! The Inn has paid extra options, breakfast, snacks etc. The room had delicious local coffee, a fridge, microwave, real coffee cups and wine glasses. Very eco friendly with recycling bins and other amenities. This is a no contact with owners but if want that they are available. All in all a nice place to stay in Hood River.

This quaint little inn is tucked into the residential area of Hood River. It is close to the main shopping core and tasting rooms. Communicating with the staff was easy through text messaging. The only thing it could improve on us closer detain to housekeeping. The room was clean but details were missed, for example, broken pieces of soap left in the shower drain and a purple stained bath towel that obviously someone with dyed hair used.
We will be back again as the owner is super friendly and an excellent cook!
The location is great and the inn is inviting.

A nice older home, well set up with nice rooms. Not as clean as I’d like to see. Hot tub was hot but needed some cleaning. Green scum in a few places on the upper surfaces. Tree is nice but needs cutting way back. Lots of debris in tub. Light in hallway was bothersome as my door to the hall had a window. The towels were nice. Cotton bathrobes were very thin and barely adequate. The overall care and feel of the house was a wee bit tired and needing more attention. Okay but in my opinion not worth the fairly premium price.

Experience was great! Hot tub was perfect for a cool November night and placed a good distance from the house to ensure separation. Will come back.

The Inn was just what we needed. Walking distance to town, amazing breakfast and very friendly staff. We were greeted by 2 adorable kittens on the front porch and soon after the Owner and his pup. Wish we lived closer so we could visit again soon.

This was our first time in Hood River, at the Inn at the Gorge was a wonderful place from which to explore the region. The full breakfasts were a lovely way to start the day, and we appreciated the vegetarian option and the chance to meet some of the other guests. Our stay in the Secret Room was comfortable and we enjoyed the amenities, including the comprehensive list of trail maps for the area and the fresh-baked cookies and sweet breads that miraculously appeared in the afternoon. This is gracious living in a beautiful setting, and we hope to return soon.

The staff at this property is absolutely incredible! Its hard to share any negatives but as an avid traveler I was shocked that we were sleeping on a pull down bed with no attached/private (have to walk through common area to get to it) bathroom for over $400. Granted it was a holiday weekend but I dont think I would ever spend $$ in a hotel/Inn without an attached bathroom again. I checked their listings and dont see that this is easily found without searching for the room description. Staff was amazing and its an old, quaint house with easy parking though! and Hood River is incredible!

The owner/Innkeeper is a nice person. We didn’t really ever see other employees on site. We had an issue this morning where the sink didn’t work and they responded they would take care of i5 after breakfast. Breakfast wasn’t included with our reservation(didn’t know that when we booked) and so we ended up leaving the property without washing up or brushing teeth. Not so thoughtful! Also wasn’t told when booking that there was no bathroom in our room. We were already traveling, so it made it hard to change reservations. We won’t be returning to that property. Will book with a chain for consistent service!

We didn’t even stay at the hotel because what was advertised on Expedia was not the room that we received. The room that we received had a bathroom that was down the hall not even in the room and did not fit three people. When I booked on Expedia I asked for both of these things. Naturally I would think they would be a bathroom in the room. We could not get our money back so we stayed at a different hotel but I will be taking this up still to try to get our money back for false advertising.
