Really clean self-service hotel, good location near main train station, little bit hilly on one approach route but found better route. Nice neighbourhood.

For a bathroom of that size you expect a decent amount of room in the shower cubicle. It’s so tiny that even a petite person has trouble turning around in there. You keep hitting the faucet. We had to ask a lady that was on her way out after knocking off work for soap. We only had tea bags on the first day. Thereafter nada

Had stayed at this hotel before they eliminated all human contact. No front desk, no room service. All electronic check in and check out. Very disappointing.

We had a difficult time finding MyStay, it's off the main drag. Parking was not close by and upon entering the room we noticed our bed was not made up. We called the property manager explained the situation, went out to walk, when returning, the room was ready for us to stay in.

Locker was convenient for storing luggage but had issues when needing to sign in.
It would be a better service if you issued the door code in a separate text.
Be warned the property is located down a steep lane way. If you are not fit to carry bags it may be an issue. Amenities were basic and rooms were in no way sound proof.

I didn't receive the check-in information until I asked, so only got it a few hours before checking in. The room was nice but dirty. There were a lot of hairs on the floor in the rooms.
The lockers were very convenient though.

I was pleasantly suprised with my room at Mystay Porto Batalha. The room was extremely clean and has aircon and a bar fridge.
From the train station the climb up to the hotel was incredibly steep up R. de Madeira but i found if you just walk up R. 31 de Janeira it was much easier even though it seems longer the walk is easier.

First of all, google maps led us up to this hotel, from Sao Bento station, up the steepest incline and set of stairs, I have ever encountered. If directions tries to take you up Rua Madeira, from that main, crazy intersection, look for parallel streets that will get you there more gradually. There was a lot of graffiti and broken glass in the area, and the following morning, there was usually an empty liquor bottle or beer bottles left on the stairs. The code to enter the building worked great, and our room was on the ground floor, which I think is the only one. The patio area was quite small, and practically enclosed, so you couldn’t see anything. The lounge was never open that I saw, so cannot comment on it. It was great that there are lockers there to store your luggage if the room isn’t ready. We never went down the steep hill to look for restaurants or shopping, since there is so much available at the top of the hill. It’s also close to the top of the Dom Luis bridge. Bed was comfortable and shower worked great. Would stay again, but would choose a balcony instead of the terrace, due to the lack of view of anything.

It was ok for a site with no human interaction with hotel staff, however, the responsiveness of the email communication was great.

Location is great and the room is small but good enough. No reception and it could take a moment to get answers via whatsapp from the owner.

We liked the large, roomy suite. Made use of the kitchenette. We had the front room and on the weekend it was quite loud with young people moving around after the bars closed. We didn't get the email for entry code but got our info from the chat line posted inside and they were very helpful.

The place is nice. A little difficult the check inn. But the room is nice and modern. Like the pictures.

Location is great, but hotel in itself is very average. Compared to other hotels or guesthouses i visited in Porto, it was quite expensive.

I had a decent one night stay. The location is very central and convenient but if you’re a lone traveller you may not feel comfortable arriving late at night in this small, dark, steep street. The 4pm check-in is very late but at least there are free lockers you can use. The room was totally fine for the price and the bed was comfortable. However there was some black mould on the wall of the shower as well as other stains.
In all, I was satisfied with paying around €50 for a central location and no frills needed on my trip. Wouldn’t recommend for a romantic getaway.

The place was very nice for the money. It was very warm in the room with no way of adjusting the temperature

The hotel is very nice and modern and the rooms are perfect and with a balcony.
Only I wish there was a reception in the hotel.

BLACK MOLD!! This apartment has a lot of black mold which is extremely dangerous and when I asked to be moved to a different room they said there wasn’t another room available and they didn’t offer me any other solution so I had no choice but to stay in the room. The street in front of the apartment is incredibly steep and slick when it rains which is often and my husband fell and possibly broke his wrist. There is no one on duty at the apartment to assist with anything. Online said parking and breakfast is available which is completely false. You have to find your own parking wherever you can and zero food is available at the apartment. I would never stay here again!!

The location cannot be beat and the room was very quiet. Located right near the train station but in the good way, up the hill and in heart of the action. You'd never know it though.

Great property, clean and convenient to all we wanted to see. Parking was difficult but with the help of the remote staff was able to park in a parking garage at a reduced rate. The lack of staff on site made it a bit difficult if you have any questions or concerns..

This stay was exceptionally clean and in new condition and the room had option for bright daylight and an open space feel. The elevator is tiny and steps are significant if staying on an upper floor. The location was very good for convenience of walking, with restaurants, shops and tourist attractions nearby. It was also very close to a train station and a tour booking service. We were able to get overnight parking within a couple of blocks. Of note you do not want to try to drive directly to the door as it is a steep downhill that you must then back out to exit.

This location needs to update their Hotels.com profile. Absolutely zero information was given by the hotel regarding parking for example. The lounge seems to be no longer operational. The prices for transportation services are much more now.

It’s very walkable and nearby to a lot of great attractions! Very Clean and easy to self check-in

We choose this property because of cost, proximity, and simplicity. We were happy with all three. We arrived early in Porto by train and were able to put our small amount of luggage into lockers at the property until our rooms were ready. It worked out great! Our twin room was small and quaint, but had everything we need for a night’s stay. Checkout was at noon, and we again utilized the lockers for our luggage until we left for our train back to Lisbon. Really enjoyed the convenience of the location and the easy Uber from Batalha Square at the top of the short but fairly steep walk up the hill from the hotel. I would recommend MyStay Porto Batalha for anyone wanting a lovely Porto experience in a budget! Thank you Lissette for helping us get our room cool on a hot day.

Generally ok. Clean, simple, very quiet, very good position. Simple to reach, to check-in and out.
Big problem: NO service at all, the breakfast lounge was always closed, for the full week! No possibility to have breakfast or to buy something to eat or dring later in the day, or to use the nice lounge spaces (while rooms are ok but also quite small!)

Very disappointing, a bar up the street blasts music at night, so loud my walls and windows were reverberating, like I had a boom box on my pillow
There is no service at this hotel, you must email or phone. It took five days to get an email response, phone calls went unanswered. I would never return!

Property was nice. Everything was as expected, but staff cannot be rated because check in is online (there is no reception desk)

Very nice, fully automated hotel. Good breakfast, rooms were very clean and updated.

Overall, the location of the property was the best thing about it. On the downside, it was located on a very steep street, difficult to access with suitcases. In addition, the elevator was so small that it was difficult for two people with suitcases to fit. In addition, the staffing plan at the front desk was inadequate. When we arrived, there was no one there, although there was a sign that said, “We will be right back.” They were not right back until the next day. One of our travel partners was assigned a room that smelled very musty, and felt like a basement. On the upside, the desk personnel did help our travel partners secure a new room in which they could sleep, so that was helpful. The woman who was in charge of the breakfast buffet was excellent, she worked so hard to keep all items refilled, and greeted all the guests with a very pleasant good morning. She was a real plus.

The best thing I could say about MyStay Batalha is well, nothing. The room is beyond minimalist. The closet is a rolling clothes rack. The two white formica tables look cheap like five and dime store products. The Internet service is slow and intermittent;the electrical outlets on either side of the bed are difficult to use because the mattress gets in the way; the electric hot water heater has no place to plug in unless you unplug the refrigerator outlet to heat up some water for the two teabags they provided. The bathroom has no place to leave your toiletries unless you want to leave it on top of the toilet. The shower is very slippery. You need to be careful not to slip onto the glass doors. I was in the shower, trying to open the little soap packet they left. it was impossible to open so I left the shower to get my own soap, leaving wet footprints on the wood floor. When I used a towel to dry up the moisture, the towel was dirty….not a great endorsement for their cleaning ability. Their HVAC did not work and blew cold air with a temperature setting of 30°C. When I asked for another room they did n have any available. Later I was told management knew the heating system was faulty. I don’t recommend this place. there are much better places to say in Porto with the same price point. I surprised there weren’t bed bugs.

Great location

Very nice small hotel in the centre of everything.

Beautiful views and the room had everything you needed.
The lift was claustrophobic and something needs to be done urgently to make the property sound proof. You could hear everything.
