About this house rental

On the side of Old Man Mountain you will find the Eagles Nest Mountain Retreat. Rejuvenate your family in the crisp mountain air while overlooking the town of Estes Park below you on the wrap-around deck. Access to 16 acres of private land protected by a conservation easement allows for hiking, bouldering, and gaining the summit of Old Man Mountain for a beautiful view of the valley. 5 bedrooms two suites, loft and a bunk room with a total of 8 beds.
As you come up the driveway you will immediately notice the unique features of this property. Rock outcroppings dominate the landscape in all directions including a very large truck-sized boulder that dominates the opening scene. Behind the house the rocky mountain towers over the property several hundred feet up. The opposite direction provides views of the town in the valley below.
Walk in on the main floor to a cozy living room with a HD Smart TV. Off this living room is a bedroom with a queen bed and attached half bath/laundry combo. Upstairs is the main living room with another HD Smart TV, dining room, and kitchen. This level has a wrap-around deck and 4 large sliding glass doors that invite the indoors and outdoors to become one. Go up a half flight of stairs to the three bedrooms and bathrooms - 4 more steps lead to the loft with two queen beds and TV area. The three bedrooms consist of two suites with attached full bathrooms, and a third bedroom with a queen bed and twin over twin bunk bed.
The Mountain. This property is part of a 16-acre conservation easement that includes a large portion of Old Man Mountain. The mountain is an icon in Estes Park - visible from most places in town. An easy hike to the top renders picturesque vistas in all directions. The easement protects the wildlife habitat and nature of this historic rock which goes back 5000 years when Native Americans used it as a "vision quest" site.
This property allows its guests to get away yet still be so close to town. I don't know that there is another large chunk of land this close to downtown. This property is the last one on the street with a large buffer from everything else - yet you could walk downtown in 15 minutes and see Lake Estes from the deck.

Large, clean house perfect for family vacation. Even had a play area with toys for our 2 year old granddaughter. Excellent communication with property manager. I would definitely go back.

Location, location, location! The property is in the best area of Estes Park, with views, places to explore, and serenity of nature. We had teenagers and adults, ages 12 to 78, and it was enjoyed by all. Host was responsive to needs and easy to communicate with. We especially appreciated the multiple bathrooms, including next to the downstairs bedroom. Property is as pictured - the open living area is great for gathering. Added bonus - we were there over July 4th and watching the fireworks from the deck while avoiding all the traffic was fantastic!

The house was very peaceful and clean. We hiekd up the mountain behind the house and enjoyed seeing the wildlife around (elk, bobcat, etc.). The dogs loved all the space they had to run around inside. We would definitely stay again!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our three generation, family vacation.
The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. We saw a lot of wildlife which the grandchildren were excited about.
The location was perfect for making day trips to Rocky Mountain National Park as well as other points of interest.
A great VRBO for a family vacation. We have NO REGRETS.

Loved everything about this home. Tons of room, phenomenal views, and quiet neighborhood. Dave also provided the absolute best information/communication about the property, check in, etc. I’ve ever experienced.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Great location, close to town and RMNP. House was really clean, both kitchen and bathrooms were upgraded.
We contacted the owner, David, for more bath towels and laundry detergent because we were provided with one towel each and there was no laundry detergent in the laundry room. David responded right away and the problem was resolved the next day.
Overall we were happy with the house and the location.

This was our first time to stay in Estes Park and it definitely won’t be our last! The home was absolutely amazing and perfect for our family. Located at the end of a road, there was no traffic driving through so it was quiet and you feel like you are way out even though only a mile or so from the Safeway. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and our kids (ages 13, 9, and 6) LOVED the loft area. Our only regrets were not bringing friends with us to enjoy it and not being able to stay longer! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us!

Gorgeous location in a beautiful home! We at 10 adults staying at the place over New Years and it was the perfect location with an open living area perfect for group gatherings and large meals. Nice and close to the Stanley too.
The owner warned us ahead of time that the driveway was steep and was not joking. So make sure your have an AWD or FWD vehicle with winter tires if you’re staying over the winter.
David was excellent to communicate with too and easily reached by texting.

We came to CO to bring my adopted children & grandchildren plus my daughter & kids to see real snow. Not really knowing the area & to be economical, I rented a big house in Colorado Springs for the week. After getting here, and understanding where everything is located, I wanted to rent a home big enough for our family for at least one night in the mountains, so we didn’t have to drive so far to enjoy the winter fun.
This house was perfect for us. The house had plenty of rooms & space for the 11 of us. The little touches were nice too. Phone chargers in the bedrooms; modern, easy thermostats; easy to use fireplaces (we’re from FL).
Word & photos cannot convey how beautiful the area is here. A snowstorm came through as we were getting to the home after a few hours of sledding 30 minutes away at Hidden Valley park. Getting up and down the driveway was a little hairy. (4x4 is required in these conditions.)
In the morning, everything was covered in fresh snow. I was still on FL time so I was up to watch the sunlight come up over the mountains. The glass sliding doors provided an amazing view from the warmth of the home / rocking chair. I will remember that moment forever.
As the kids awoke, they got dressed in their winter gear and explored the outside. They were able to sled on a short run behind the house.
None of us wanted to leave this house.

Seamless experience! The host was very gracious in accommodating our needs even as some of our needs changed. Spectacular setting overlooking the town from Old Man Mountain. Great experience!!! Just one side note, there are quite a few stairs for us older folks but of course didn't slow down the kids or the grandkids!
