The perfect bed and breakfast located in historic Blois- we can’t wait to return!

Everything was incredible. Nicolas was a wonder host- friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The house was beautiful and carefully curated. The location was about 10 minutes from the train station and about 15 from the chateau. While there is no AC, Nicolas provided a strong fan and there were two windows in our room (with a great view) that allowed for nice air flow. The breakfast was beautiful with a large spread of charcuterie, cheese, breads, fruits, jams, juices, coffee, and tea set in the beautiful dining room with soft music playing. We are already looking at how soon we can return to Blois and stay at Maison Loire again.

Le charme de cette maison et de son jardin, l'accueil et les conseils de notre hôte, le petit déjeuner très complet et excellent, le confort de la chambre, la situation géographique tout près du centre...bref tout!

We hadden een top verblijf dankzij Nicolas in zijn prachtige en compleet uitgeruste maisonnette.

We werden hartelijk verwelkomd door Nicolas die ons vol enthousiasme zijn zelf gerenoveerd en zelf ingerichte maisonnette tot in de puntjes liet zien met alle noodzakelijke uitleg. Hij gaf ook vele tips om de stad te bezichtigen en prees ook vele bezienswaardigheden in de buurt aan. Voornamelijk het kasteel van Chaumont-sur-Loire was voor ons een super tip. Hele vlotte in- en outcheck. Makkelijk en gratis parkeren in de buurt. Het prachtige huis ligt op 5 min wandelen van het leuke centrum van Blois met zijn oude straatjes en prachtige gebouwen. Je kan 3 uitgestippelde wandelingen in het stadje maken, volg de ijzeren stapsteentjes ( info in toeristisch bureau). Vanaf het huis is er een binnendoor wegje naar het hogerop gelegen station. Nam je geen ontbijt bij Nicolas zelf dan vindt je aan het station een prachtige bakkerij om super lekker te ontbijten.

Alles was helemaal naar onze wens.

unique accommodation, a little gem right in the heart of Blois city

We stayed four nights at Maison Loire and we fell in love with it. It is a unique accommodation, a little gem right in the heart of Blois city. The house itself is wonderfully located with views overlooking the Loire river, beautifully decorated with a very good selection of antique furniture and objects, you can instantly see the good taste of the owners. Nicholas was simply amazing as a host, every morning he offered for breakfast a great selection of pastries, local cheeses, natural yogurt, fruits from his neighbours and delicious coffee. We enjoyed eating at the same table with the other guests, we found the experience rare and interesting. Also the little terrace party was a great idea, we got to socialise with the other guests of different nationalities, exchanging opinions and ideas with them was indeed valuable to us, you don't get to do this in other places. Nicholas willingness to park his car on the street just to accommodate our trailer and two motorcycles in his garage was truly a special touch of hospitality. I cannot put an end to this review without mentioning how lovely Siddhartha (the dog) is, so well behaved and cute, we adored him. So, if you want to visit Blois in style just book Maison Loire!

Amazing place, chateau-like, for a unique experience in the heart of Loire. The rooms are royal, the breakfast is delicious and Nicolas, the host is very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come back!

Exceptional

Excellent property with beautiful rooms, staff were very helpful and made you feel very welcome. Property is ideally placed to explore the local area or just go for a few days away in lovely surroundings. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Hugely enjoyable.

Beautifully renovated and tasteful. Just away from the main bustle of the centre of Blois but within a 5 minute stroll so very peaceful. Nicolas was a very attentive host and nothing was too much trouble. Maison Blois suited us perfectly and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

Really there was nothing to dislike from our point of view.

Dream stay in historic Maison in Blois

This was one of the most special hotels we've ever stayed in! The interior design was top-notch, like something out of Architectural Digest, reflecting the hosts' sense of hospitality, respect for the period property and attention to detail. We loved the sparkling wine reception held for all the guests and resident dog Siddhartha. Nicolas and Alexander were so welcoming that we felt like we were visiting family. The breakfast was nothing short of a delightful feast!

Wonderful!

If you can, definitely stay at Maison Loire! The house is gorgeous with very thoughtful touches throughout. The two managers are also lovely and provided a huge breakfast spread.

I loved this place!

Nicolas greeted us and welcomed us to his beautiful Maison. The house is impressive, both from a decorative and proportional point of view. The front room, reading and terrace areas have been well planned and it is clear that Nicolas has excellent taste and a flare for spotting antiques and interesting artefacts to place in these areas. All the rooms are beautiful and have a warmth and charm. Our bedroom was extremely well appointed, with a large garden facing room and a modern bathroom with a walk- in shower had good water pressure and worked perfectly. The linen was of high quality and there was attention to detail to all the soft furnishings as well as the furniture. Breakfast was so wonderful - we sat in the beautiful dinning room , which was laid with beautiful silver jugs and antique crockery - it was just such a treat. Nicolas was an excellent host for the 2 days we stayed. We were close to good restaurants and had excellent dining experiences within 10 minutes walk , there were many options but just not enough nights. Although we arrived by car , we were able to store our bikes safely in the garage which was helpful.

I wish I could eat more at breakfast! The continental breakfast was delicious with fresh juice, breads, croissants and cheeses...as well as local honey and conserves.

Stunning comfortable stay in Blois

Very cute little B&B in the heart of Blois. The Chateau and the train station are within walking distance. The house itself is exquisitely decorated and special mention for the super comfortable bed. Nicolas was gracious and super helpful, and personalized our (extensive) breakfast for us. Highlight though was Siddhartha the resident goldendoodle, always up for cuddles. We wish we could have stayed longer :)

Perfect

Full apartment/gite rental. Kitchen well equipped. Close to Train Station and historic downtown in easy walking distance. Recently renovated with modern bathroom and amenities. Host delightful and very helpful.

Need to know that bedroom is a loft and there are steep stairs to climb to bedroom and bathroom.

Outstanding location and hosts!

Very well located, very quiet! Highly charming furnished with antiques embedded in and with outstanding taste! Beautiful view on the Loire and the river landscape. Nice garden area. Charming dog! Hosts who treat any guest as a little king or queen! I have been rarely finer served for breakfast than in Maison Loire. One of my ever best locations I have traveled to so far. Cordial thanks and „Bravo“ to Nicolas and Alexandre!

A fabulous stay and a wonderful host

This is a lovely property expertly run by the host Nicolas who made us feel completely at home. The property has been magnificently refurbished and is really comfortable - very much a home from home. Our bedroom was superb, with a lovely big comfortable bed and pillows - and with a view over the garden and to the river Loire in the distance. The bathroom had a huge walk-in shower. Parking was just outside in the street. The property is easy short walking distance to everywhere in Blois. The breakfast was excellent and Nicolas and staff were very attentive to our needs. Nicolas also invited us to join him in the garden for an early evening drink - which was very nice. There is a also a lovely lounge inside the house for winter evenings, or relaxing anytime. Maison Loire is a very relaxing place all round, and very much helped by the host Nicolas whom we had fabulous conversations and discussions with. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Nicolas.

The bedroom could probably have done with a couple of extra chairs to put stuff on. Lighting in the bedroom needs improvement. The coffee at breakfast needs improving - and the coffee cups need to be bigger, as they are really dainty tea cups. Minor distractions to a fabulous stay.

Extraordinaire and unique place to stay in Blois.

This is one of those places that makes your vacation unique and unforgettable. It's a manor that is carefully repaired with a lot of taste, love and I would say - pasion. Authentic old furniture, mirrors, lamps, tableware and other accessories make you feel living in a real old estate. On the other hand you have new modern facilities that are designed with huge attention for details and are very convenient. Our room and bathroom were really spacious. Everything in the house is ideally clean. Location is very attractive - 10 min walk to the Château de Blois and city center. Many good restaurants are at very short walking distance. The house has terrace with a beautiful view of the city and Loire river. The breakfast included very fresh and taste local products and is served on old silver dishes and other old tableware. Our personal food preferences were answered as well. The person behind all this beauty is Nicolas - a host that I always dreamed off. He speaks very good English, has very good communication skills, is very pleasant and willing to help and likes what he does. He was almost always available. He gave us very useful tips for places worth visiting, restaurants and more. Merci Beaucoup, Nicolas.

There is no private parking, but it is very minor thing as we had no problem finding the parking along the street and very close to the house.

Beautiful guest home, with charm and character.

Nic has decorated his home beautifully, and tastefully with everything in just the right place and it’s a fabulous place to be. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival (and before), Nic provided lots of detailed information to help our stay. We had a delightful breakfast each morning in the dining room listening to the distant sound of classical music. The bedroom, the bathroom and the views are wonderful and with Nics great local insight we spent a couple of truly memorable days in Blois. We had no idea there was so much to see including Blois Castle, the beautiful ancient streets and river banks of Blois, to the amazing Chateaux Chaumont just a few miles down river. Nic gave us excellent recommendations and staying at his gorgeous home was a delight and great comfort.

Exceptional bed and breakfast in an ideal location to visit Blois and the Loire Valley.

Review of Maison Loire My husband and I are in France twice a year for our work, and this trip we decided to treat ourselves to a two-day break at Maison Loire in the city of Blois. We have been traveling to France for over forty years and have stayed in many bed and breakfasts. We can’t say enough about our stay at this wonderful new find. The owners have thought of every detail. The first thing we noticed were the gorgeous antiques in every room mixed with just enough contemporary touches to keep it from feeling stuffy. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and with a fabulous view of the Loire River. We found plush towels and robes in a luxurious bathroom you don’t find often in French lodgings. The bed was very comfortable too. Lastly, we enjoyed our delicious breakfasts on the terrace with a view of the gardens and then just a five minute walk to the center of Blois to take in the sights. We highly recommend Maison Loire!
