About this house rental

The sound of gentle ocean waves welcomes you as you settle on the couch in the living room of the Whale Gazer and take in the sweeping views of the Sound & Cascade Mountains through your floor-to-ceiling windows. You may even catch a glimpse of a seal or a whale in season! Situated on Camano Island's historic Tyee Beach, this house has it all- a fully equipped kitchen with nespresso coffee maker, toaster, stainless appliances, whole house AC, work space and wireless internet. Outdoor boasts a private yard with hot tub, cozy chair swing and a roof top deck with gas fire pit and grill for alfresco dining and relaxing. Come and experience tranquility at its fullest.

Access: Main house is located up a flight of stairs.
Parking notes: One parking space is available across street from the house. Electric car charging available in garage. Please let us know if you need charger when booking.
Stay: Holiday weekends have 3 night minimum stay
Security: For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, we have outdoor cameras only facing front door and patio entrances.
Gas Grill / Fire pit: Let us know if propane tank goes empty during your stay and you need to switch to the other tank. So we can refill and our next guests can enjoy too!
We request guests to please clean up after yourselves and keep the grill clean. If found left dirty and requires extra cleaning, an extra cleaning fee may be required.

Other Things to Note:
The community is accessed via a steep hill. Ice/snow is infrequent in the winter, though please be advised it is possible and use caution while driving. Power outages may occur occasionally.

Interaction with Guests:
We want you to relax and enjoy your stay at the Whale Gazer, so please make yourselves at home. We are available for you, but our level of interaction is up to you. You can quickly and easily access us by Vrbo messenger or a phone call in case of an emergency. For all life threatening emergencies, please contact 911 first and foremost.

You understand that use of hot tub is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with use of the hot tub. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from use of the hot tub and hold owner harmless. You understand there are potential dangers that use of the hot tub may present to children who are not carefully supervised, as well as the danger to any person use of the hot tub if a person has health risks, or if a person uses the hot tub while intoxicated or using any kind of drugs or medication, or while pregnant. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against owner for accidents or claims arising from use of the hot tub. Myself, husband, daughter and son -in-law stayed here 4 nights. We have done 10+ VRBOs and this was our favorite! The views are incredible from main room and roof top deck. The bedrooms are dark and cool (in a good way). The AC and game table a huge bonus. We also enjoyed the hot tub (with a great view also). Close to grocery store, restaurants, parks and beaches. Only suggestion - a guest log book would be fun.

We had never spent any time in the Pacific Northwest and this property was the perfect place to do it. Amazing views of seals, dolphins and some whales in the distance. There are plenty of easy family hikes to do very close to the property as well through the forest. The property itself was exactly as the pictures showed. Our kids had such a good time on the game table that we might have to buy one! Sri was very communicative and answered any questions we had. Overall we had an amazing trip, and the house was a big part of it!

We loved this property! Quiet, clean, serene, amazing views of Port Susan! Everything we could have wanted for a long weekend vacation. The house is right on the water! The hot tub was a perfect way to relax after a busy day of sight seeing. The house is nice and modern and very well kept! Our host even left a birthday card for us. Such a wonderful experience staying at this location. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family and would go back in a heartbeat!

My family (two adults, two teens) had the most wonderful two nights here! The house is gorgeous with so many thoughtful details (memory foam mattresses, games, all the streaming platforms). Kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub with a view was worth the trip alone. We also loved doing s’mores on the roof deck and reading up there in the mornings. The highlight, though, was the infinity game table which was a ton of fun. Host was communicative and friendly! Can’t wait to come back.

We had a lovely stay at this property near Tyee Beach. The house was clean, well stocked and exactly as advertised. The views are incredible and the hosts were very responsive to the multitude of questions we had about operating the air conditioner! When we asked if they had a fan, they even had Amazon deliver one the next day!

We enjoyed a wonderful week on Camano Island thanks in part to this gorgeous property. Washington treated us to beautiful weather so we spent a lot of time up on the roof deck, enjoying the view, coffee or a glass of wine in hand. Property was super clean, beds very comfortable and well stocked with practically everything you could want. We did spend most nights cooking and there were a few things we missed but were able to work around (citrus squeezer, some plastic tupperware-like containers for marinating or storing leftovers, a blender for making smoothies in the morning) but really that's sort of nit picking. And perhaps most folks on vacation don't cook as much as we do. Hot tub was a great way to relax. Owner was super helpful and very responsive when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay. The home was beautiful and had all the amenities one could need. The location was fabulous with sweeping views of the ocean. The rooftop deck and hot tub was a special add on to an already awesome property. My sons came up to visit for a day. We had a blast playing all our beloved board games on the infinity game table. So much in fact we ordered one for our house! I will definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend.

Loved this place. It was absolutely beautiful. Especially enjoyed the kitchen and hot tub. Cleanliness and amenities were great. My only wishes for improvement were for a place to put trash and recycling that was convenient and didn't require loading in vehicle and driving to the top of the hill. And some upgrades in furnishings. The couch and mattresses were not very comfortable. Other than that this place was very enjoyable. Would definitely book again in the future.

Our stay, what there was of it, was wonderful. Unfortunately, there was a severe wind and rain storm and the entire beach community lost power and it was at the end of just our first day there. Being November, it was getting quite chilly, so we decided we needed to leave. Our host provided us with information we needed and was very supportive. We WILL return!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Host was very helpful in communicating and answering our questions before and during our stay. Couldn’t have picked a better spot. Beautiful updated home, jacuzzi and upper barbecue deck with the best views. Spotted porpoises, seals and many birds. Neighbors were friendly as we walked daily. Very quiet street and only steps from the beach! We look forward to visiting again!

Everything in the place was immaculate. The hosts have provided a variety of entertainment and ambient options from a touch screen gaming table, arcade machine, wonderful fireplace. The beds were super comfortable. The deck on top was also a treat to sit by the fire table they had outside. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

This is the first ABNB that didn’t have condiments available to use. You will need your own salt and pepper, ketchup, salad dressings, and bottled water. And more. There are grocery stores 10 miles away. Overall it was very quiet and peaceful.

What an incredible waterfront home! We had the perfect stay this weekend in this beautiful home. The video game table was unexpected and fun! We couldn't decide if we enjoyed the upper deck watching the sunrise and sunset more or relaxing in the hot tub while hoping to spot an orca! This is the perfect spot for anyone wanting to get away from it all and relax. Beach access was just a few short steps away where we launched our kayaks for a sunrise paddle. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our stayed at this house. The windows along the front of the house gave us a beautiful view of Puget Sound. The furniture was very comfortable as were the beds. We totally enjoyed using the Infinity game table in the evenings! I would definitely come back to this property again.

We had a blast at this location! We walked along the beach, found sea glass, wishing stones and shells. Cranes and sea lions frequented the beach. We loved the indoor games for the cloudy days, and spent lots of time on the rooftop deck barbecuing and watching the sunset.

Location was amazing and the big windows provided such a wonderful view! Honestly made us feel like we didn’t need to go anywhere. Surprise bonus was the small gaming table- we hadn’t had played scrabble in years! Lots of fun!

This house been recently remodeled & it’s super nice. You CANNOT describe the views of the water. Bald eagles, seals were everywhere. Rooftop deck was the magical spot. We grilled up there with the brand new gas grill. There’s even a sink up there so we could clean our fresh dungeoness crab. House has AC which was ideal cuz it was in the low 90’s. Beds were comfortable (pretty firm) we slept great. Kitchen had all the untensils needed. Overall a great find by me. I sent pics to many people and one friend is planning on booking it soon. Sri was very quick to reply by text as well. WINNER! David J

Thank you for a wonderful stay!!! We had a lovely time waking up every morning to the breath taking views of the ocean. Sitting and grilling on the roof deck in the afternoon and evening and skipping stones on the beach. The house had everything we needed for a restful time away including a large and well appointed kitchen and full bathrooms. The hot tub was a wonderful way to unwind at the end of the day. Thank you for a memorable visit, we will be back!
