Good location close to Southampton General Hospital which was the reason for the stay.
At midnight one night the fire alarm went off due to other residents cooking. The fire brigade arrived and declared the property safe.
During this incident and again several times during the stay I tried to ring the contact number that I’d been given which was unobtainable. This was not good.
Any communication by email received a prompt reply but the telephone number was useless and a cause for concern.

Location.
The fire alarm goes off on a weekly occurrence (sometimes twice a week if you’re lucky), takes nearly an hour on average for someone to come and turn off the alarm (set off by anything), no number to phone and speak to someone in charge of the property which is distressing when stood outside with the fire alarm going off and having to have a WhatsApp message conversation when the fire brigade are turning up…. Nor any assurance as to when someone is going to turn off the alarm. Which in itself is a good alarm, incredibly loud would just be nice if it went off when there’s a fire. Customer service believes this is acceptable as it’s a safety measure saving us from burnt toast and long showers.

It is a lovely little apartment tucked away with a nice size garden. It was clean and tidy. And had most of what we needed. Communication was good from the owners and easy to use everything.
It would be nice to have had a cot available considering they allow all aged children. They said there was not enough space online but there could have been in the larger room. The parking also was an issue as we got blocked in and had to leave early for hospital appointment. This caused a lot of distress and only by pure chance did the owner move their van. This could have caused a lot of issues.

Very clean, nice and modern, had a lovely homely feeling to it. Would definitely recommend. Had a nice garden and was spotless when we got there, had everything you would need, me and my partner really enjoyed our stay here .
Don’t have any complaints apart from that the tumble dryer had broken but we dried our clothes on the airer which took one day, so can’t complain at that. We stayed during December so the apartment was a little cold at times and couldn’t seem to find an option to control it but certainly cannot grumble, as they were only small things we picked up on.

Well designed and equipped, reasonably spacious. Clean. Access arrangements effective. Good location and surprisingly quiet in our room at the back.
Tendency for some of the other doors in building to slam loud - attributed to inconsiderate guests.

we didn't feel like we had any privacy as the accommodation's handyman kept coming in on several occasions with little/no notice. First he said he needed to fix a window blinds but then said this can wait . Then he changed his mind and came to fix them. To our surprise, we were informed by the host that we should let him in ( ay very short notice) again for something which could be done later. Whilst my daughter was sitting her exams, the handyman who was at the room at the time kept talking to me and her , even though I told him upon arrival that she should not be disturbed,. A Few days later we were told by the host that we should let someone in to check fire alarms , again at short notice . We were expected to let people in at very short notice , we never experienced anything like this before and we did stay at many places.

Very clean & comfortable quiet room at the back of the property. Comfortable double bed as advertised (but room was big enough to easily take a king-sized bed). Good to have fridge & tea/coffee making facilities. Cooking facilities & crockery also provided. Powerful shower. Toiletries provided (hand wash, hand cream, shampoo & conditioner, but strangely no shower gel). Thought there was only one towel, but second one was in a drawer under the bed. Good location, very close to the Common (& Parkrun). Some parking on site (but see note below). Would stay again, but would pack ear plugs & eye mask (flashing lights on smoke alarm).
Main negatives for us were the very noisy slamming fire doors (woken up very abruptly at 4:45am by someone leaving & letting their door slam shut), & poor soundproofing between rooms (snoring on one side & someone chatting on speaker phone on the other).
Great to have parking on site, BUT it is very very tight. We managed to park at the front, having done a 25 point turn. Decided not to risk the spaces at the back as there was a strong chance of being blocked in if people park as the owners requested. Apparently there is on street parking nearby, so that would be fine. Would perhaps be better to mark less spaces on site, & accept that more guests will park around the corner on the road.
Good sized shower cubicle, but not fully enclosed, so bathroom floor gets quite wet.
Blackout blinds would be preferable to slatted blinds.

the drain was clogged and the water drained slowly. It was promised that it would be fixed and unfortunately they didn't do it. They also wanted detergent to be provided. First it was said that the detergent was there and then they didn't comment again even after asking. We wanted to check out earlier, but they didn't meet us at all. we still left the accommodation a day earlier.

The Madison is located in a residential neighborhood about a 20 minute walk up from the main town center of Southampton. The large Southampton Common (park) is just minutes away by walking, and you can walk in either direction about 15 minutes to find shopping and restaurants. We did not have a car, but there are plenty of parking spaces on site. The room was quite small, but very nice and everything that we needed. The small kitchen and refrigerator makes it handy to make some small meals in the room. The building was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. There is a laundry room (no charge) on site. However, the dryer was not currently working. Check-in was all done by remote and door codes, so that part was quite simple.
The room we had was rather small, although it was functional and the bed was comfortable. The dryer was not working, and my suggestion would be in the future, to put a note on the dryer to let guests know, or even better to let them know upon check-in. There is a tiny table and two chairs in the room, so it is not a great workspace if someone is staying here and needs to work on their computer. I would suggest removing this table and chairs, and placing a sturdier table along the wall adjacent to the kitchen to provide a better workspace.

very clean with a big garden. nice
weak mobile phone signal and unstable wifi connection.
only blinds in the bedrooms. light leaks early in the morning , making the bedrooms too bright. can’t have good sleep.
shower area has no door or shower curtain, water splashes.

very well appointed, comfortable bed and nice shower, nice tea/coffee/milk/biscuits provided in the room, the provided laundry facilities were useful
parking situation is a bit tight (might be helped by trimming some of the overgrown bushes), some of the self-closing doors in the common areas slam when they close which can be noisy when other guests are entering/exiting

The apartment is very cosy and has everything you will need for a short stay. It is very close to the station. The area was very nice, just adjacent to Southhampton Common.
The beds are comfy and they provide you lots of towels and pillows.
They also provide complimentary tea/coffe/hot chocolate sachets and two small bottles of milk, which I was very happy to have. So you can have coffee right away.
The hosts are wonderful
The Access was a bit difficult for me, and when I called the number, the calls are answered by persons who have no idea of the property or the access, so nobody could help
I had to wait for the Host to respond.
It maybe a one off scenario, but that was the only thing I thought could use improvement

Clean and had all facilities we needed.
Not the owners fault but if you don’t time it right then you don’t get a parking space however there is parking on the next street, 30 seconds away!

The place was great. Parking on site was so convenient. Location was good, nice to be away from the hustle and bustle, but closer enough.
The apartment was great, clean, had everything needed for a great stay.
Having an outside space too was a bonus! Loved it. Woukd definitely stay again.
Maybe a TV is the master bedroom?
Also had slight issue with the lock box getting into the room, it didn't work. However the host was very quick to respond back to me with another way to access the property.

My stay in Maddison was one of the worst experiences I ever faced in my life. I regret booking a 7 day stay here, and wanted to move out every day I stayed here but didn’t do so because there is no refund policy from booking.com.
The price they charge is more than some of the best hotels in Southampton (Moxy, premier inn etc.) yet it has absolutely nothing to offer compared to it.
I booked a room for 2 adults but I was provided with a bed that cannot comfortably accommodate 2 people. I was given only one bath towel when I came here despite the room being booked for 2 people.
They offered no room service replaced none of the bed sheets, haven’t cleaned the washroom in this 1 week stay of mine they, and they hadn’t replaced any of the towels, they didn’t give extra toilet roll, absolutely no service whatsoever. Given the price they charge which is of some of the most classy hotels here who provide 24/7 reception, room service, breakfast options etc, I see no point in wasting my money coming to this place.
When I send an email regarding this they told me “ we never said we would do housekeeping”. For the price they charge one would expect a good room service as they would do in any normal hotels/ stays, but no.
Even in Airbnb’s u get better service than this.
The only good thing about this place is it has a kitchen as it is a studio , and they provide you with clean plates, spoon, oven etc.
But this is really a waste of money. A real waste of money, they have a very inconvenient parking space, and the rooms are not spacious, the service is the worst and you end up paying the same price you would in some fancy hotels here. Unless u desperately need a kitchen, this is one of the worst choices u can make.
