Sweet Dreams is in a perfect location to enjoy NOTL - and the house itself is quite large. In fact - it’s large enough to profit from some rethinking.
For example - the kitchen is huge - with a nice sized pantry - but the tiny table provided makes the space feel empty. This might not matter if you are only staying for a short while, but cooking does become challenging with the lack of prep surfaces. An island or a larger table would certainly help out.
The outside eating area is quite handy - but the chairs are surprisingly uncomfortable. We ended up having to drag cushions outside in order to use the chairs. And despite a good search, no outside cushions could be found.
The floor in the upstairs is very creaky - as is the staircase. That makes it easy to wake up folks trying to grab a bit of sleep. Other reviewers have also noted this - but it’s hard to describe exactly how noisy the floors actually are.
Sharing a Jack and Jill bathroom between the two bedrooms was more challenging then I’d imaged it would be. One of the doors is directly in front of the toilet - the other at the fair end of the long thin space. So knocking loudly was really the only option. If you locked either door - you looked folks out later in the day because it’s so easy to forget to unlock. We did face challenges.
The living room is lovely - and very large - with a good sized TV. The window ‘bed’ is great as well. But curiously - the sofas are set at right angles to the TV. I wonder why.

We loved the charm of this house and property! It is located less than half a block to the main street of town with all of its restaurants, boutiques, pubs, and theaters!! In fact two doors down from the house are two doughnut/pastry shops (Yumm)!
The house was equipped with anything you might need while staying there. There is free private parking and a cute back garden to share morning coffee or evening relaxation time. We loved it!

We enjoyed our stay - the house was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed eating on the patio. The house is less than half a block from the main section of town, a grocery, and excellent restaurants.
We'd happily stay again!

I already sent an email, inside VERY comfortable, clean, nicely appointed. Outside needs attention, lawn not mowed, flower beds need some tender care it sure would have made sitting outside in the cozy space much more enjoyable. Also, the patio need badly power washing, the tree droppings along with the wet, just about went on my ass walji g they are so slippery. We are looking for the one place we can return to several times a year since our previous B&B owners sold and moved....this could be the place with a bit more attention to detail outside only...inside lovely

We had a wonderful stay at the Sweet Retreat. The location of the property could not be more convenient. The main drag with the shops and restaurants is less than a block away. However, there was never a noise issue. The lake, parks, and even the golf course are an easy walk of only a few blocks. The house was very clean and comfortable. We had a small issue with the shower hose extension bursting. We called the management company who had someone there the same day to fix the issue. My only recommendation is that the management company may want to provide additional towels and blankets. We stayed for over a week and were provided 4 towels in total. There is a washer/dryer but when on vacation you don’t necessarily want to do laundry every day. There were no blankets on the beds, but we did discover one in a closet that we used. Overall our experience was very positive.

Nice home, within 1/2 block to main shopping street (Queen street) and 2 blocks from beautiful water views. Dinner at Noble and the High Tea at Price of Wales were both outstanding. Lunch and then a band at the Angel inn was so much fun!

Excellent location.Steps from shops and restaurants. There is a doughnut shop and a juice and coffee place with excellent homebaking just a couple of doors down.Spacious heritage house. Very comfortable property. Everything we needed in the kitchen though perhaps a couple of extra wine glasses might be helpful. Due to the chilly fall weather we did not use the sunroom or the garden but I imagine they would be perfect in the summer. We had a small problem with the lock box on arrival but it was dealt with very promptly. We loved this property and would definitely stay there again on a return to Niagara on the Lake.

The house couldn’t have been more perfectly located for us to enjoy everything the area has to offer (hiking, wineries, cideries, shopping, dining, the falls). The house also had everything we needed for a totally comfortable visit. We are definitely returning in the future!

My husband and I stayed with our good friends from Canada. We reconnected, played board games, tasted wine, walked the neighborhood and shopped. The nearby doughnut shop is fabulous and the property is beautiful.

We were very happy with our stay. The house is adorable. It suited our needs for walking to the shops, golfing, biking and visiting the wineries. We would stay here again. The only thing that was odd was the very, very squeaky floors upstairs in the master bedroom. It was not a huge deal for us and we figured out quickly where to walk but it was very noticeable. Again, I still give the property a 5 star rating.

The house is wonderful, large kitchen with sunroom. Very comfortable living room area well decorated half a block from Queen Street. It was nice to stay on popular street with private parking everything is in walking distance for restaurants and shops. Two blocks from open area to view Ontario lake only downside one full bathroom. We enjoyed the accommodations and aria immensely! Can’t wait to return!

Just steps from Queen St. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. Location, location, location. Property could use some maintenance, but was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Lots of creaking and painted stairs woke up person in other bedroom. Could use some art, etc to absorb sound especially in kitchen. We would stay here again.

The Sweet Escape is in a perfect location. It’s just steps away from the restaurants and shops on Queen Street and a short two block walk to the lake. Despite its proximity to all of the action, it offers a very quiet stay. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is adequately equipped, and the washer and dryer in the basement were a key amenity to us. Public street parking is in front of the home, so various people end up on the front yard trying to figure out payment to the machine. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay!

Mr. E. and I really enjoyed our stay here. Top marks for walkability to all the shops and restaurants nearby. House is more spacious than you would think with upgraded interiors. The only tiny flaw, if you would call it that, is that the stairs squeak but that is likely due to the historical nature of the property. Overall a very nice property.

We loved our stay. The house was bright, well-appointed , spacious and sufficiently well equipped for us to be able to cook dinner. Checking in was easy and the email and text we sent the property manager during our stay were answered almost instantly. The location was also excellent - it was an easy walk to everything in NOTL. We highly recommend the property.

Loved staying at this charming house - beautifully appointed, comfortable beds, sofas and lovely backyard. The fireplaces were appreciated given the cooler days of fall. Wouldn’t change a thing. Hope to come back.
