Everything
Food prices are are high, coffee for almost £6 is a bit too much.

Room was lovely looking over the golf course. The bed was very comfy and the balcony was a bonus as very sunny.Great breakfast. Staff were lovely even when they couldnt find my payment. I was staying for an event.
Nothing really

Location and the spa
No availability for any of the family friendly restaurants so had to eat room service in the room

Accessibility to the ICC
Dated rooms, need some TLC. Extra charge for residents parking was a sour point amongst all of our group, it should be free. Prices for food and drinks at the hotel are over priced, £35 per person for a buffet style meal is simply not worth it.

Fantastic breakfast
I phoned to say I wanted to watch films and was informed there were many channels and when I arrived there were none
It was my mothers 88th birthday and she recently had been in hospital and I took her to rafters your restaurant for lundch and wanted to relax in my room with her and watch some films but that was not possible and I rang down and they said there were no film channels I would have been willing to pay and I feel for a hotel of your calibre there should be some more choice netflix Sky prime Disney also first night I arrived I wanted to relax in my room and tv was not great

Reviews of the Celtic Manor are surprisingly poor, but we were very impressed. absolutely every member of staff we encountered at the hotel was 100% professional and friendly, a credit to the hotel. spotlessly clean. The room was well turned out and very comfortable, huge bathroom, only issue was the AC see below.
Breakfast was great lots of choice, well cooked, except the pattisery section which was dry and lacking sweetness.
Breakfast layout and organisation needs a rethink. There are only 2 Tea / coffee stations, this would be far too few for the number of tables, it totally failed on my visit when 2 of the 4 machines were out of order resulting in very long queues.
It needs a minimum of 6 machines and when some fail they HAVE to put out coffee jugs etc.
The pattisery needs addressing, everything was dry and just not sweet.6
Also the entire guest circulation around breakfast needs to be evaluated, it just didnt flow with lots of bottle necks.
Room - the in room aircon is a waste of space, its a high tech screen but nothing you do changes the AC, our room was stuck at 25deg no matter that we set it for 18. I got on better with a system written in japanese in a tokyo jotel that with that thing. Others in our party all had the same issues. It needs simplifying AND it needs an in room operation guide.
And good luck getting a lift between 10:30 and 11:0 while people check out. Took us over 20 mins to get back to our room, just waiting for a lift and stairs are not an option as the door states its closed with an alarm - why ?
Also we were there for a wedding and the service / quality of food was so far below the standards in the hotel that it was shocking. small portions, badly cooked food, and a buffet that could have been better catered by the local rugby club.

Excellent location, beautiful setting, immaculately maintained, stunning scenery.
Not alot to be honest! At times we got mixed messages re dinner options but overall it was excellent

The spa facilities were great, nice big rooms with decent views.
The rooms were a tad dated, could have been nicer.

absolutely loved the staff very helpful and kind, spa was lovely and I loved the choice of restaurants and activities.
my room was very very dusty and the bed was very uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep, the pillows were very lumpy I woke up with a really bad neck on my birthday. The car park is overpriced £20 is absolutely ridiculous parking should be included in the price of your stay!

Breakfast was lovely
Serving Staff were unbelievably ignorant in merlins bar, olive garden and pad. All other staff were fab.
Pad restaurant was appaling service and hugely overpriced. Rafters was overpriced but service was amazing.

Took the wife for a weekend mothers day break. Grand Hotel, stunning features and first rate facilities. Very easy booking and reservation management. High end quality all round.
1. Room ventilation needs updating expecially the bathroom..The bathroom exhumer is completely inadequate literally takes all day to get smells out.
2. Olive tree is a great restaurant but it would be nice to have the freedom to choose where you want to sit, especially when it's not so busy.

lovely hotel.
no hot water. was warm at best. couldn’t have a bath and when raised with staff at reception they weren’t bothered.

Breakfast food good
Restaurant very crowded st breakfast so there was a wait for plates and for some food items. Decor in hotel a little tired. Bed not as comfortable as expected

Breakfast was very good and location was great for our funeral that day
Cool cold fan room constantly on ( got sorted late evening nice man) then late in the evening no hot water just air coming from the taps, got sorted next day, lifts where a constant wait and not enough lifts for size of hotel .
3.9
public spaces, spacious and comfortable, good staffing levels.
no food available in the bar area after 6 at night.
parking charges were high considering the location dictates most people arrive by car.
3.9
Reception staff were rude.
Staff attitude - apart from The Olive Tree, they were lovely.

A fabulous entrance hall and the room had a great view. A very comfortable bed and a decent sized room. Lovely food in The Grill which was a 2 minute shuttle bus away. Pleasant staff. Porn star martini's were amazing!
A talented pianist in the bar, cozy seating area to sit and enjoy a chat and some drinks.
The ice bucket in the room was filthy with white stains to the inside and the lid, was changed after alerting staff.
The iron was broken and leaked water over my husbands shirt and we waited over 20 minutes for another one to be brought to the room, only just making it on time for the evening meal.
No robes in the room to wear to the pool but were brought up after we rang.
I discovered my key card wasn't working after heading up on my own, went back down to reception and it was replaced.
There was a hole in the bedroom wall with what appeared to be mould stains around it and flaky paint.
I'd expect things like this in cheaper accommodation but had great expectations for this hotel considering its appearance and the cost of the rooms. We hardly get a night off from the children so it was disappointing to have to ring or attend reception to resolve these issues on what should have been a stress free child free night. We did however have a complimentary drink for the bother.
