About this apartment rental
This waterfront luxury condo is located on Mangrove Bight in West End. It is conveniently located in a safe, quiet area of West End. There is no need for a car! It is a 2 minute walk to bars, restaurants, Dive Shops, and Half Moon Bay Beach (where the famous Sundowners Bar is located), and a less than 10 minute boat ride to West Bay Beach which is considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.
COVID-19 INFO:
To ensure the property is thoroughly disinfected between rentals, we use alcohol and disinfectant on all feasible surfaces. Sheets, towels, blankets, and couch cushion and pillow covers (when removeable) are washed twice between each rental and dried in the sun or at high temperatures in the dryer. Smaller items that cannot be washed are also put in the sunlight. Larger items such a sofas are also sprayed with disinfectant.
This well decorated, air-conditioned 1800 square foot condo has everything you will want. It is located in one of the two waterfront buildings and ocean views and fantastic year round breezes.
This condo has:
-Pool
-Dock
-Oceanfront sunbathing area / sunset cocktail deck
-Master bedroom with a king sized bed, TV, an en-suite bathroom
-Second master bedroom with a king bed
-Third bedroom with a Queen Bed
-A kitchen fully equipped with the great appliances, a breakfast bar, and granite counter tops
-A washer and dryer
-Large custom made dining table
-Living area with a sofa, love seat, and a HDTV with DVD and Cable.
-A balcony with great ocean views, a fantastic breeze, a large propane grill, and a table and chairs.
This luxurious condo comfortably sleeps 6 people. The neighboring three bedroom two bathroom unit is also available for rent if you are a larger group.
As part of our rental service, we can arrange for anything and everything you want to do while on the island. We have lived here for over 10 years and know everything about everything on Roatan. We can even stock the refrigerator with your favorite foods and drinks. What better than to have an ice cold beer waiting for you upon arrival?
The condo also comes with a cell phone that can make and receive inexpensive local and international phone calls and wireless internet.
Unlike some of the other units at Mangrove Dock, we do not include electricity in the rental price. This allows us to charge as much fairer and cheaper rental rate, AS MUCH AS $700 LESS PER WEEK.
Assuming you use the AC at night on a reasonable temperature, the typical electric bill is $15 - $20 / day.
We read the meter at check-in and check-out and use the previous month's bill to determine the rate. We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to keep the rental rate high to cover the cost of the large electricity bills.
We have a fantastic year round wind that comes straight through the condo if you leave the doors open. The master bedroom opens onto the balcony so you can leave the sliding glass door open and get a nice ocean breeze. You might not even need A/C.

This was my first time visiting the island and I must say I am already planning for the moment I am able to go back. Overall the location is quite, safe and close to what you will need to have a good vacation. The moment you arrive you will be greeted by the staff and the guards that maintain the property. They will show you around and show you to your condo. Make sure you ask questions including how the showers work. The location is prime for divers. You are in walking distance to the Roatan market where you can stock up on anything you might need for the whole trip. Good food is all along the west end strip. Shopping too for souvenirs and the proper clothes so that you dont regret getting out in the sun. As for the condo itself it had everything we needed. Dishes, cooking pans and pots, Microwave and drinking water, refrigerator and a washer. The only thing I guess we can say didn't meet our expectations was that the dryer was being replaced but we hanged our clothes to dry so it wasn't a real problem. The condo has spacious rooms and a pool. Overall very satisfied with my stay.

Mangrove Dock Condos was everything we were looking for: peaceful, easy walk to town, lovely breeze, refreshing pool, pretty landscaping and super nice property manager!

The view from the patio was beautiful. It was relatively quiet, and there was security available 24/7. The amenities matched the description on the property listing.

It is a wonderfully clean cute unit at the end of a road in west end very close in walking distance to all the restaurants and water taxis. It has a cute dock of its own. He was very quiet and has a 24 hour security person outside the kitchen is equipped with everything you would need, we brought our own case of water and breakfast items for breakfast but the water was provided and filtered. This is a great unit to rent. We had four people in our group 3 bedrooms everyone had their own room. Caroline popped in to say hi. she is wonderful and would help you with anything that you could need

We stayed at Mangrove docks for seven nights. Caroline, our host/contact, was exceptional - she helped us rearrange plans doing everything should could after a covid diagnosis that threatened our vacation. She advised us on dive shops, things to do, and even connected us with a driver who made arrival, groceries, and departure smooth and hassle free. Everything worked out perfectly.
Our unit it was clean and well stocked allowing us to cook for ourselves or eat out. Our rooms were comfortable and everyone was happy with their arrangement.
We spent a great deal of time sitting on the deck and scanning the horizon. We were able to assess dive conditions easily by looking at the waves breaking (or not) at the entry to the large cove we faced. We didn’t need to rent a car as everything we needed dining, bars, dive shop was in walking distance. So many options we did t have to eat at the same place twice - except when we wanted. The small peninsula we were located on had a secluded feel despite being a 3 min walk to hussle of West End. Safe and secure with friendly people at every turn.
We even took a trip in Karl Stanley’s submarine to observe six gilled sharks at a depth of 1300ft - truly once in a lifetime experience given only a handful of options around the globe.
You may have gathered by the review above - Roatan was great, our accommodations were great, and our whole experience was fabulous - highly recommended.

The communication process at first was leary... We had problems with emailing through the VRBO site so we finally figured out how to email through their company website.
The vacation, it was awesome!!! Finding the place in the dark was a little tough. GPS didn't send us where we needed to go but kinda close. The locals were super sweet and helped us find where we were going. Finding things in the house was super simple and we figured out enough stuff to make to the morning. The owner was there right in the morning to welcome us and answer any questions we had.
He was super hands on all week and responded rather quickly every time we had an issue. Everything was within walking is distance but I was glad that we had rented a car so we could see the whole island. We never got lost and enjoyed seeing the natural habitat of the island and all who lived there. We felt completely safe. This is important since we have a 6 and 9 year old.
The pool was a wee bit chilly but honestly, the evenings and mid afternoon sometimes required a cold dip in the water. It was extremely refreshing. We will make sure to return to the island for a future vacation.
Thank you for the fantastic stay!!

Caroline and Nick were amazing to rent from. Very helpful and had great suggestions for everything we wanted to do! The location was perfect, gorgeous property and walking distance to everything in the West End. This trip was so incredible, we loved everything about Roatan.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mangrove Dock. The location is an easy walk into West End with all the great restaurants and dive shops. Onsite security was very visible so safety was never an issue. Nick was great with advice and any issues that arose.
If you are up for an adventure, night snorkeling from the dock out to the reef is an unbelievable experience with a high probability of seeing octopi and the surreal String of Pearls.
We definitely plan on coming back!

The location, size and property amenities were a perfect fit for our multigenerational family of five.

Loved our stay in Roatan, this location is beautiful, safe, and a short walk to everything. Owners were helpful and quick to respond. I would stay here again.
Only problems for us were the ceiling fans didn't work well which was a bigger deal because of the extra power charge we tried to use the AC less. Don't like the extra power charge idea, we were careful and only used AC at night and still were charged extra. But we did hear that power is super expensive on Roatan so they may not have many options.

Stayed at Mangrove Dock Condo 6/9-22/19 on 1st floor of the Pelican building. Prior to arriving Caroline emailed information that was extremely helpful. She arranged a taxi to pick us up. Noel stopped at Eldon's so we could get $160 in groceries (reasonable island prices). Caroline pre-stocked frig w/ soda & Roatan beer, cheaper than grocery store.Unit is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (master bath small but okay). The bed & baths on one side with kitchen, dining & living room on other. We opened front & patio doors and constant breeze very nice even with the temps of +85. We turned on air conditioning at night from 8pm-7am, cost $160. No one at the condos for the first 5 days. The rest of the trip, there was rarely anyone at the pool. Walk from the condo to Half Moon Bay & West End averaged 4000 steps per trip. Note – It was really nice not having to rent a car.Food - Fish plate $5 at Keith Moon BBQ (on beach across from Woody's grocery), Baleadas $1-2 at Calelu (best cheap food), Chick & Fish sandwiches at Half Moon Bay Resort, Fish & Chicken Dinner at Lily Pond ($12 each + drinks), Italian Chicken al Run & Fish Dinner at Pazzo ($60), Dinner at Cannibal Cafe (Mexican, best meals), Dinner at Kismet at Meridian Condos (around $40 each, only diners during sunset, taxi $20 each way), Dinner at Oleaje Tapas (exotic meals), Breakfast at Cafe Escondido ($40 for 4), 16" Pizza at "C Level" (best pizza, drinks $22), dinner cooked at condo from Eldon's - $10/pound grilled Tenderloin with fresh salad.Drinks – Monkey LaLa at Sundowners $8 & Argentinian happy hour ($4), $1 local beer from stores along West End Road, Iced mocha at Roatan Chocolate. We hired Noel’s friend, Antonio (boat "La Ola") to take us snorkeling to Blue Channel (shallow-deep, best coral, multitude fish, turtles, sea anemone), Hole-n-the-wall (shallow-medium, lots of coral & small fish), Antony’s Key (deep, huge groupers, small fish to feed, jelly fish, sting rays), Black Rock (shallow, lots of coral & fish to feed, squid), Half Moon Bay Resort (short walk from condo, shallow, coral, turtles every day, lots of fish). Note – best time snorkeling 8-10am. Most divers start 9am. Purchased Reef Band from Roatan Marine Park NGO, rented fins for $30/week & bought cute T-Shirts.Things to do - iSoar - a sailboat with a leaning mast (on purpose) with a rope to swing out on (near Half Moon Bay Resort). Best was to lay around the pool, the living room & patio with drinks & books.
