The Neighborhood:
The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic. Those who do not live there come as often as possible to play and go out, and for good reasons...
Four major arteries are heart the neighborhood: The Saint-Laurent Boulevard - "The Main" - where many cultural communities have established their shops, the Rue Saint-Denis and its multitude of shops, cafes and terraces, Prince Arthur Street and its restaurants "Bring your own wine" and the Mount Royal Avenue with bars both connected and relaxed. A constant hum contrasts with the tranquility of the side streets, the lined up stairs of twisted wrought iron, as well as the lush greenery of Parc La Fontaine.
At night, the Plateau is known to be especially entertaining and warm. From chic lounge to corner microbreweries, from a wide variety of restaurants and taverns to high caffeine content and lively discussions of all it’s coffee shops, the choice is rich. Musicians - Quebec art scene is extremely innovative and prolific - occur every night and all summer, the sidewalks are full of life. A night out, it's here.
Getting Around:
From the Airport, you can take bus 747 all the way to metro station Berri-Uqam. From there, use the metro up to station Sherbrooke (only 2 stations). You are at the apartment within a 5 minute of walk.
• Public parking nearby ($) 600m away

We had the best time here! Perfectly located along cafes and restaurants. The apartment is adorable and perfect!

Fantastic location! Did our own pub crawl and had fantastic margaritas at Manana, breakfast at L’Evidence was superb and Vera our waiter was amazing! So much to do around Rue Saint Denis that you do not need to leave the area. The only disappointment was the propane tank was empty.

The place is quite nice and in an excellent location. The hosts are responsive.

This was our third trip to Montreal to visit our son who attends McGill. This is a truly wonderful property, situated in a fabulous location between Le Plateau and the Latin Quarter, with wonderful restaurants and shops all around. Don't miss L'Evidence and Chez Jose for breakfast, Tin Tin Tacos for Mexican, Mamie Clafoutis patisserie a couple minutes walk to the right and delicious Brazilian Dulce Paradise bakery to the left! The Sherbrooke metro station is about a 7 minute walk. It was a 22 minute walk to McGill. The apartment itself was very well appointed, everything we needed, and had so much space! The stairs entering from the outside are rather steep, but that is simply Montreal. The terrace was wonderful, comfy beds, plenty of linens and all very clean. The pictures really don't do it justice. We would love to stay here again. One of our best stays by far!

We stayed at this VRBO residence over a long weekend and, unfortunately, had a very negative experience with the host. We booked this apartment a couple months in advance, but due to unavoidable circumstances our group was hoping to reschedule our stay. We were only two days after the full-refund cancellation date (still one month in advance), but the host was unwilling to accomodate our request, stating that this was a strict VRBO policy. We spoke to VRBO directly, who informed us that the refund policy was coordinated by the host. Still, the host refused to accept our cancellation for the full refund. We then attempted to reschedule our booking to a later date (which according to the policy on the website can be done without a fee), and the host stated that we would not be able to rebook without paying 33% of the total. The host was absolutely unwilling to work with us in any way. Ultimately, we had nothing but very negative interactions with this host. On a separate note, this 3 bedroom-4 bed apartment only had one bathroom, which was inconvenient for a group of 5. One bedroom had no windows, and the other bedroom filled with an incredibly potent grease smell in the afternoon through the entire night due to the restaurant on the ground floor, making it difficult to sleep. We still enjoyed our time in Montreal despite the stress and negativity generated by the host. Would recommend staying in this area but in different accommodations.

Me and my 2 adult sons were pleasantly surprised with the accomadations. Very well stocked kitchen. Clean bathroom. Sharp KNIVES!!!! Amazing. This flat is situated in the heart of the Plateau - which is endlessly eclectic and fun to walk.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home. It was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The location was perfect for our visit to Montreal, would highly recommend to anyone.

When we walked in, my boys said “wow”. The apartment was clean and charming with modern appointments in the kitchen and bathroom. We loved the terrace! We were within easy walking distance of many of Montréal’s attractions and cafes. Best of all, we didn’t feel like we were in the middle of a tourist trap - the neighborhood felt authentic. After all the walking we did, the front steps were a piece of cake!

The best part was the spaciousness and central location. We were in Montreal for less than 24 hours, and we had access to great food and all the major attractions we wanted to see. The apartment was very spacious and allowed everyone to decompress in between site seeing and eating. Highly recommend the dumpling place right across the street!

Gorgeous place!!! Perfect location! Huge space for city living for our family of five. Nice size deck. The condo looks even better in person than in the photos, which doesn’t typically happen. Parking was easy to find at the local parking garage over night, and street parking was pretty available in front during the day. We needed the car very little though as we were able to walk almost everywhere. I highly recommend staying here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

We loved our stay here in Montreal - great neighborhood and lovely, well appointed apartment. Parking was a bit stressful with all the various restrictions on different streets that weren't necessarily easy to understand, but we lucked out finding free parking our second day there just a couple of blocks away. Management was quick to answer any questions we had. Beds were comfy and kitchen better equipped than many plces we've stayed.

A wonderful stay w a few small hiccups but the managers mostly addressed the concerns. Fantastic loavation, and we would stay here again.

We loved our stay. The location is perfect. We love this neighbourhood! It is close to great restaurants, shopping and the metro. The owners met us hours before check-in time to let us store our luggage. We hope to stay here again.

Apart from Montreal being a great place to hang out (lots to do, see, eat, drink), we were struck by how friendly people were in general, and how incredibly clean the city is (in comparison to others) and so easy to get around. Au Revior Montreal (we will definitely see you again). The apartment is fantastic. Large, spacious, well equipped, comfortable, in an amazing area with a lovely terrace to watch the Montreal world go by beneath your feet. The property company was super pro-active and responsive. We were wanting for nothing. And having a Mexican with great margaritas 2 doors down didn't hurt. L 'evidence for breakfast is the best (62m away). Thanks for a amazing long weekend.

Our family of 4 enjoyed a great stay in Montreal. The location was good with lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

Very nicely appointed and clean apartment in the Plateau neighborhood. Street is very active but apartment was quiet. Not a lot of natural light but was fine for us since we just wanted a nice play to rest after being out all day. Would stay here again.

We were a group of 6 friends who were in town for several days. The apartment was in a great, very walkable, neighborhood. It bigger in person than it seemed from the photos - it would just be nice if there was a half bath, because it is big enough to accommodate groups of people. The apartment was very clean and comfortable.
2.5
well located, busy road St. Denis but felt very safe, easy to get to anywhere, nearby Metro or 15-20 minute walk to Old Montreal, relatively close to Plateau Mont Royal-fun, hipster neighborhood, good eclectic food choices. apartment very comfortable, well kept, washer/dryer worked great

This property is perfect for a Montreal getaway. It's in a great Plateau neighborhood and is very close to quaint cafés and shops -- what one would ideally like to roll out of bed and experience close by. The door was a bit tricky to figure out (it is an older house) but once inside, we were met with a clean and quaint place to call home during our adventures in Montreal. I would stay here again.

We came for a long weekend and found this to be a perfect place to stay. We have 2 adult children and there was plenty of space: double beds, full living room, dining room, kitchen. It is clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable with good furniture... everything you'd want. We enjoyed being right in the center of the city with bars and restaurants right outside our door. We walked to all the places we wanted to visit: Mount Royale, Museums, live music, every imaginable place to eat... I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, modern apartment with lots of room in the perfect location. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need and there are cozy spaces to rest after a busy day. Loved hanging out on the outside deck overlooking the neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I stayed at the chalet for a ladies weekend. It was perfect for us. It was very comfortable and in a fantastic location. The apartment was very clean and well stocked and the management company was always responsive when we had a question or request.

We loved our stay in the "City Chalet". There were plenty of beds to accommodate our large party, lots of communal space, and a kitchen with all the amenities. The balcony was a fabulous bonus with a great amount of atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!

We stayed in the City Chalet for 6 days in mid-April and thoroughly enjoyed it! The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, extra sheets and blankets, and a well appointed kitchen for the meals we cooked. It is close to several restaurants and a great small market, as well as being a short walk to the closest Metro station. The presence of a large bathtub, a portable crib and high chair, and a washer and dryer made staying with kids even easier. The one note I will leave for people with small children is that the stairs to the front door are steep and were a little slippery in the rain and ice...we were fine and it wasn’t an issue, but it is a good thing to be aware of. The rental agency was easy to work with and responsive. I would stay here again!
4.0
This rental is situated within view of Mont-Royal, which is a large urban park popular for it's many outdoor activities. Downtown and other areas of Montreal are either a short walk or bike ride away. There is a public rental bike location located just steps away from the home with drop off locations everywhere in Montreal.
The rental is very comfortably furnished, including memory foam beds that are fantastic. With only one bathroom it requires some logistical planning, but it was not an issue for my party of three.
Restaurants and cafes abound both nearby and throughout the city. My suggestion would be to step out of your dining box and try something different. This carnivore ate vegan during my stay and loved every meal. Sushi MoMo, a few blocks west on Saint-Denis, was one of the best meals that I have had in years.
Over all, I would definitely stay at this cozy city home again.

We had such a great time in this beautiful apartment. It was very clean and well decorated. It has everything you will need for an easy stay in Montreal. It is in the BEST location! We loved being close to everything (mostly we were able to walk everywhere!) and if we couldn't, we could get an Uber in 1 minute! It was literally that fast. The restaurants close by were perfect...and everyone was so friendly. My daughter was participating at the Canada Open in Taekwondo, and the waitress at Le Evidance across the street was such a great person, remembering her each time we went there and gave her a free dessert after weigh-ins! And the taco place was FANTASTIC! Everything was close and reasonably priced. We also loved the fantastic shopping. On two different days, we had easy walks to the Old Port, where there was so much to do for us and the kids. Living here in this apartment this week made us really feel that we could get to know the city.
One of our favorite parts was the cute little porch that you could have a cup of coffee and watch the people walk by...it was wonderful and roomy. It helped that the weather was AMAZING! The apartment was never cold or hot, and was very comfortable.
This apartment does only have one bathroom, but even with 6 people, we never felt like this was even an issue. It was also great to have a nice washer and dryer in the place.
With all of the parks close by, we had fun exploring different parts of the city.
Everyone speaks French and English, but all of the merchants and waitstaff appreciate you trying to speak French with them. They would all help the kids and were very patient. It made the trip even more enjoyable and we actually learned a few things!
I can't imagine coming to Montreal and staying at a hotel when a great private place like this place is available. We would def. rent this place again in the future!
5.0
I cannot say enough how much my friends and I loved this place! I feel the pictures do not do it justice. It was even better than what I expected and I was really excited to begin with. We met Yann on our arrival and he was very friendly and insisted we let him know if we have any questions or concerns. The chalet is in an awesome location to see the city. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go including Mont Royal and St. Laurent Blvd. Anything else was quick 10 minute Uber ride. The chalet is also very close to the metro station if you would prefer that to Uber. You can buy a weekend pass to use. The apartment was extremely clean and beautiful. My one regret is I never got a chance to use the jacuzzi tub. We loved hanging out on the deck on the nice cool evenings. Whenever I visit Montreal again I'll definitely be staying here. Side note, if you stay here I would also recommend trying the taco place next door. It was really good.
