Originally a dude ranch, Karst Camp was established in 1901 by Pete Karst. It was the gateway to Yellowstone National Park for early tourists. The camp, known as Karst Stage Stop Inn, saw up to 600 tourists per summer with 25 guests cabins. In 1937, Pete built a towrope for skiers, which has since vanished, as well as a bar and brothel for local miners. Visitors can imagine the rugged conditions both residents and tourists must have had to endure to appreciate Yellowstone Country 100 years ago.
In the summer, you are just minutes from exceptional fly fishing, river rafting, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ziplining and more. Plus, the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park is only about 45 minutes away while following the historic HWY 191 along the scenic Gallatin River. Don't miss the free concerts, farmer's markets, and weekly special events throughout the summer!

Quaint cabin that was 20 feet from of the river. We came to do a little trout fishing, recharge and relax, sit outside in the evening without bugs and take in the food and people of Big Sky. Mission accomplished! True mountain vacation!

Overall it was a good place to stay! A few notes to point out. The ceiling fan looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time, maybe years, yikes! So we made sure to leave that off the time we stayed. The bed in the bedroom was not very comfortable so we stayed up in the loft area and enjoyed the coziness up there. The bathroom was clean, bed linens/sheets and towels were all clean, the kitchen area was clean as well as the appliances and the cookware. We did not use the grill as it was questionable on its cleanliness, and the wire brush to clean it wouldn’t have helped much. Coffee maker, (not a keurig) so make sure to bring coffee grounds!
We would stay again but maybe not so many nights (we stayed 3), it seems best for just an over night spot, because it is small. Bonus, it’s on the river with beautiful views.

This a great place to sit on the cabin porch and just listen to the river. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a great home for a couple people who love to fly fish. Right on the water.
The host was fantastic. They put me into a River guide and he was amazing as well.
This was a trip to remember forever
Thanks for your hospitality!

Quaint small cabin. Great location along the river, short distance to markets and Big Sky.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin was nice and perfect for 2 people. I did catch fish right behind the cabin but the water was a little fast. There is a bridge about a mile towards Big Sky on the right side of the road, that has great fishing and the river widens a bit and has some nice water! Parachute Adam’s best dry fly ever!
