THINGS TO KNOW
Due to fluctuating tap water quality in the Village of Surfside Beach, it is recommended to bring bottled water for drinking and/or cooking during your stay. During times of elevated water contaminants, water coming from the faucets and toilets may have a yellow tint. The water is safe for bathing.
Streaming TV services require guest accounts to access.

The property wasn’t clean especially one of the bathrooms. It took us almost 3 hrs to unlock the door so we didn’t get to check in until late. Both toilets were not working. However, this property is a good location.

The rental we originally booked had no electricity. But thankfully, we were moved into this one that was much better. We absolutely loved the waterfront view, the patio, amenities, etc. We are definitely considering using this rental again. And a huge thank you to Vacasa for turning our experience around.

Right on the water. Had all the amenities needed for our stay.

Property was never cleaned upon check-in and had been left dirty for at least a day and a half. Ant infestation in the home, including in the beds. Rats were underneath the home.
Beautiful location and beach.
Vrbo was helpful connecting us to Vacasa. Took several days to get proper customer service from Vacasa and then it was excellent. Vacasa structure is set up for message taking, not for problem solving.

Our recent stay at this property was far from bliss. Beware, as this property is managed by Vacasa, a third-party property management company with very sub-par support.
While the listing for the property boasts of "a water filtration system for a healthy and clean environment", they also mention something about the "fluctuating tap water quality in the Village of Surfside Beach". The water in this property did in fact have not only a yellow tint but also a grotesque odor akin to sewage. The listing mentions that the yellow water is safe for bathing, but it is far from desired to bathe in sulfur-scented slime water. The master shower was all that we were able to use for bathing because the "jetted soaking tub" does not actually hold water (the drain cannot be stopped). The shower leaks onto the bathroom floor; it came with two shower heads: one is so calcified that it sprays with immense and ineffective pressure, the other sprays a dribbling ooze that cannot maintain consistent temperature.
Beyond the water problem was a considerable issue with ants. We very often had to flick ants off of our food, belongings, and children.
Worst of all was the fact that the AC went out on our third night. The property climbed up to 85 degrees while Vacasa was unable to get anybody out to the property until long after we had to leave (lest we suffer from a Texas heat stroke).
This house has potential, but it has fallen into some degree of disrepair to the point where it is unhospitable.

We truly enjoyed our visit. The home was clean, well maintained inside and out. It tastefully decorated and the kitchen was fully stocked. My favorite was the RO unit for water. We did bring some with us, but didn't need it. It was perfect size and location for our family. Beautiful views. Do take some mosquito spray. It is needed at certain times of the year. We had a relaxing time for my birthday. My husband said let's book again for next year! So definitely coming back.

TV and remote are complex with no instructions. Only able to view one channel and unable to use any of the streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc.)
Streaming music from my phone to the house audio was way too loud even when individual room volume controls were turned all the way down. Unusable.
Front door lock is really wonky and malfunctioned once. They programmed a10 digit access code which is ridiculously too long when 4 or 5 digits would be plenty secure.
The jetted tub spewed yellow water which was irritating to the skin when turned on. Unusable and possibly unsafe.
The bath towels are course and cheap. They don’t absorb water very well.
It’s actually only 2 bedrooms with an additional 2 non-conforming rooms containing beds.
The windows were not clean making the view of the ocean very hazy.

We spent a majority of our time on the well shaded, comfortable patio. We were there in January, so the weather was perfect for a cup of coffee and enjoy the crashing waves there.
There were a couple of disappointing things about our stay. One was the 3rd bathroom is not readily accessible. It was off the carport downstairs and locked. We would not have used it anyway, as it is really just a storage room.
Then one toilet broke and we were having to use 1 toilet for 4 adults.
The other issue that was not clear in the description is one of the queen bedrooms shares the Master Bath. If I had known that and that there we’re truly only 2 bathrooms for potential 8 people, I would not have rented the home.

This home definitely deserves five stars but unfortunately our stay was so robbed by the mosquito infestation, that it was hard to give it five. 😫 I was born and raised in Houston, been going to the beach my whole life and I’ve never seen anything like these mosquitoes. They covered us, even with bug spray as we sprinted to the beach and/or the car. So enjoying the outdoors was near impossible. That said, the home is gorgeous and had everything we needed to bond as a family INSIDE LOL. Great TV (instructions would be a plus) comfortable furniture, beautiful kitchen, tons of space for everyone and incredible beach views!! The convenience store directly across the street was handy as well. Note: this section of the beach allows cars so you’ll have a little traffic on the sand every now and then. Thanks for our memorable stay!

Lovely place with a homey feeling, clearly a lot of thought went into decorating. The views are fabulous, super large windows with gulf views & morning sunrises you dream of. Thank you for sharing your home.

House is happily positioned centrally on the beach without a lot of week day beach traffic. Plenty of privacy for relaxing on the deck. The deck is covered, cool, and pleasant to sit on anytime. Wonderful views and sounds of the ocean, definitely worth getting a beach front. Inside, the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked with usable items. House is decorated well with appropriate furniture and space, not the bed stacking you see in other rentals. Our kids enjoyed the toys, games, and beach gear available for use! My family of six really enjoyed our time here, would rent again.
