Enjoyed the stay, very quiet and relaxing accommodation.
Very quiet, comfortable accommodation. Dawn was available for contact and helpful.
Probably wouldn’t return route was bumpy which we didn’t mind but there were no passing places when you meet another vehicle which worried us going in and out.

Relaxing getaway from the madness of the world
The location was superb. We had the rare experience of not being able to hear a motorway in the distance. Instead we heard an owl, a kingfisher, the patter of rain on the ground, cows and sheep in the distance and other nature sounds. We were there during the petrol shortage so wasn't able to travel around visiting much. We had hoped to drive to the coast but we'll have to leave that to our next visit in May. We had luckily taken most of our supplies with us and were able to pick up a few items in Dulverton. Instead of travelling around by car we did most of our exploring on foot. Our dog was very happy about all of this. Some of the hills were steep and we imagined what it must have been like in the old days walking across the fields to get some supplies from town. All without the fancy walking gear we have today. It was lovely having the river close by. My dog had a little swim but it was too cold for us. Hopefully we will be brave enough to have a paddle in May. The property is large and spacious and well insulated for the colder days. It was a comfortable place suitable for walkers and dog people perhaps. It wasnt so fancy that i felt uncomfortable walking in after a day out on the moors. It actually reminded me of some of the french country places we'd stayed in and the surrounding hills appeared like the midi pyrenees. Lots of rain when we stayed which was why everything was so green i imagine. Take your waterproofs! Dawn the caretaker was lovely and we also had a quick visit from the owner. We had no idea who the owner was and it took a while for us to realise. A lovely chap to meet. The track up to the barn is very bumpy. We had seen this in other reviews and so borrowed my dads kia suv which made all the difference. Definitely not for overly fancy or sports cars. We were also pleased that there was an enclosed courtyard so i could let my dog out without fear of him running off chasing wildlife or any passing dogs.

Good
Warm and comfortable
A little grubby, probably from previous guests. Access down a bridle path not ideal for everyone.
