Guests had a wonderful stay at the property. The spacious accommodation, beautiful surroundings, helpful hosts, and farm experiences made for a perfect holiday.

The property was perfect for our needs. Well presented and beautifully situated in a little slice of paradise. The hosts on site were wonderful. We had a superb holiday. There is so much to see and do in the area. The only challenge we had was how to balance going out and about, with staying put in the cool, calm, quiet of house and farm. Thank you.

The host did everything possible to give us a good stay in this old farmhouse during a wet and cold period of July. We had heating and the beauty of fresh flowers in the house.

We had a great few days here for our daughter’s wedding in Exeter. The rooms were spacious and provided plenty of room for bridesmaids and bride to get ready. The large kitchen table was great for 10 of us to sit at and lovely comfy lounges with log burners were cosy in the evening. Barbara was super helpful in explaining everything.

The house was perfect for our extended family. The bedrooms were well presented and the kitchen was good although using the range stove took some working out. Both reception rooms were very comfortable and all said it was a very enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely week staying at Down House with family. Barbara and Jeremy were such welcoming hosts and were only too happy to chat to us about their life on the farm. We even got to bottle feed some of the lambs, which was very special!
Exeter was a 20 minute drive away which was perfect as we were there for my son’s graduation ceremony from the university there.
It was the perfect house for our family holiday and I hope we go back there again sometime!

Down House Farm is a working sheep farm set in the beautiful Devon countryside. The gardens and views are lovely, there are wonderful walks in the fields, and if you are lucky you just might get a chance to feed a baby lamb! Barbara is a wonderful host and did everything she could to help us enjoy our stay. There is a golf course lol just a mile away and pubs and restaurants nearby, but we mostly just enjoyed the peaceful countryside.

Just returned from a fabulous week in this beautiful house.
It perfectly suited our party of 6 adults and 4 children and one dog.
The house is lovely and spacious and was great for families to sit together for meals etc. it is well equipped and clean with comfortable furniture and beds.
Although the location is rural it is situated really well for easy travel to many places. We visited Haldon Forest Park which was amazing, there are many excellent beaches and so much more.
Only complaint was the week we stayed went far to quickly!

Awesome Place
We had four generations ranging from almost 1 to 92 years of age. We all loved it. The location was great, close but the county setting. The sheep were the kids favorite. Having two living rooms might have been great granny’s. A table big enough to have family meals together was mine. We took long walks and fed the help lambs several times. Enclosed gate area was great for the little ones. There were beautiful flowers blooming outside my window and fresh flowers in several rooms in the house. These Texans would love to come back and visit again.

Devon Delight!
My family and I enjoyed our recent stay in this delightful property.
We were three generations, aged between 91 and 22 (plus our dog) who travelled down to Devon for my daughter’s wedding.
Down House Farm suited us perfectly, it was spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped.
Maybe worth noting, that there are two steps up into the downstairs bedroom.
My nephew and his girlfriend even managed to cook a Sunday roast for all 9 of us!
The rural setting was wonderful with stunning views, friendly dogs, sheep, lambs and not forgetting our hosts Barbara and Jeremy.
Really appreciated the lovely vases of flowers in lots of the rooms too.
Down House Farm was a haven to come back to each day!

Lovely house in rural environment
Really spacious house. We enjoyed the rural setting but be prepared to drive in tiny lanes. Very comfortable house with two sitting rooms. We were an adult group and used it as a base for walking.

Great Christmas in Devon
Party of 6 adults and 4 children stayed at the house for Christmas 2021. Plenty of room for everyone with the chance to go for long walks across the farm. Hosts very welcoming and the property manager very helpful. Log burners in both living rooms great to gather round in the evening and the children enjoyed the daily log gathering from the barn! Keep in mind there are no local facilities so a car is needed if there is any shopping to do but the peace and quiet and the lovely views more than makes up for this minor inconvenience. A stay at the house is thoroughly recommended.

Perfect!
We stayed here because of a family wedding at Higher Eggbeer Farm and the house was perfect for what we needed. It was lovely to have two sitting rooms so the children could have their own space. The rooms are all spacious, light and airy and beautifully equipped. The kitchen is ideal for family meals and its great to have a seperate utility room.
The quality of our stay just added to the wonderful weekend we had at the wedding and we are planning to come here again.

Great stay in Devon
We had a lovely holiday at Down House Farm. The property was perfect for 10 of us. This location is a great starting point for visiting many places in that part of Devon.
The hosts Taryn, Barbara and Jeremy were very friendly, helpful and responsive.
On our last night we went for a meal at the local Travellers Rest Inn which is only a couple of miles away - the food was fabulous and the service exceptional.
We highly recommend this property.

Lovely family stay
We have just got back from a family long weekend away of 3 generations, the house offered suitable accommodation for all ages. The views were incredible and there were so many beautiful walks. The house was extremely comfortable and homely. We were fortunate enough to visit during lambing and helped feed the orphans. Highly recommend!

Devon Splendour
It is a large beautiful house in the most stunning location with the added bonus of being a working sheep farm. Bottle feeding orphaned lambs was a real joy for me and my children, grandchildren.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting
I stayed here with 7 friends. The house was very comfortable with plenty a room for all of us. The kitchen was well fitted out with a nice big table for meals. Very quiet location with beautiful views. The downstairs bedroom has no curtains or blind on the skylight which meant early waking for me! However we would stay again. Lovely hosts too.

very spacious house well positioned
the house is well situated and very spacious, plenty of parking for cars, quiet location but local pubs good; quality food and friendly staff.
being a rural location water pressure is an issue at times. ten of us managed a week stay in this rural idyll

Lovely house in a beautiful area
We had a wonderful time staying here, there is lots to do in the area and as national trust members there are plenty of houses and gardens to visit.
The house is very large and unlike one to two places we have stayed it is plenty large enough for all nine of us to get around without being under each others feet.
The property is lovely and the location is stunning with great views and plenty of room for the children to run around and make lots of noise without worrying about upsetting anyone.
The hosts were very welcoming and helpful during our stay and even after we left.

Christmas in perfect Devon
A lovely warm friendly house owned and cared for by lovely warm friendly people. The location is idyllic, and the walks across the farm fields glorious, even in the rain. The only place we have visited where the sheep approach you rather than running away......because Jeremy feeds them treats. He is proud of "Angry Boy", probably the most docile animal you'll ever meet. Jeremy, Barbara and Taryn are a delight.
All absolutely charming. We hope to return.

Beautiful scenic location
We stayed here as a group of 10 and loved the house.
It is a beautiful period house, in a simply stunning location. It is very well equipped for a holiday home, and had everything we needed.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
Only minor points was insufficient hot water for showers/ baths for 10 of us, and no curtains in the downstairs bedroom.
Would definitely recommend and come back again.
