Parking access is difficult. Otherwise the stay was pretty good. They did not clean our room, however.

Modern, clean, well-appointed hotel in an excellent part of town, steps from the Cathedral.

The location of this hotel is fantastic for sightseeing - right next to the Cathedral and amongst beautiful streets. We found the staff at this hotel to be exceptionally helpful and we really enjoyed the breakfasts. There is on -site parking which we found to be very convenient, and we were emailed with parking instructions prior to our stay. Thank you to the wonderful staff!

Couldn’t ask for a better location. You can walk to everything . Beautiful part of the city..Has an underground parking garage which was great. Steep and a little challenging to get in and out. But so nice to have in the city center. Interior and bathrooms could use an update. But I would stay there again because of the location.

Great location in the centre of Rouen and staff friendly.
We stayed twice, once on our way down to Bordeaux area and again on the way up.
First room had a weird bathroom, a large, but odd toilet that looked like the original one had broken, and they changed it for whatever they had, which didn't quite fit. There was urine all round the toilet seat brackets and dirt in the corners of the room.
Second room was ok, but again room was dirty, looked like they just swilled a mop around the bathroom and didn't bother with the corners that missed.
Wouldn't stay there again.

Comfortable room, decor and vibe. Pillows a bit naff.

This hotel is dump. Do not stay here under any circumstances unless you enjoy disappointment.
The parking system simply does not work. A guest needs a code to progress in the barriered one way street to gain entrance, the hotel say the send a code, they did not. As you might imagine there was quite a queue developed at this entrance and some hopefuls had a code, it was wrong. The staff did not answer the intercom or the phone. The most dispiriting thing to was that instead of accepting the situation and apologising they argued and dismissed the whole thing.
The hotel, apart from the reception/restaurant area was noticeably grubby, the decor tired/shabby.
It was in need of significant maintenance, our fridge did not work, the curtains hung off the rails as the sliders were broken and there was exposed wiring apparent. The lavatory blocked.
I would normally have taken these matters up with the staff but could not face the self satisfied, bored, clearly poorly trained people who should get out of the service industry asap.
DO NOT STAY HERE!

A lovely hotel in a nice area and very close to amazing cathedral and city centre. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and the breakfast offered a wide variety of extremely fresh foods.

The hotel is in the most amazing situation. You step outside of the hotel and you are in amongst it with the cathedral square, shops, cafes and restaurants right there. Rouen is definitely a place we will return to, we had a wonderful stay.
The hotel is in need of an update in the bedrooms. The reception and downstairs restaurant and bar are modern and comfortable. We booked a prestige/premier room and it was in need of a total facelift. Paint flaking from the walls near the balcony door, the glass around the balcony seemed like it had never been cleaned making it unpleasant to step outside. The mattress was very old and rather than replacing it they had put a topper on making it really uncomfortable.

Staff fantastic. Great location for walking in old city.

This is a very nice hotel. I don't think you could be more central in Rouen if you tried, and the view of the cathedral is stunning.
The staff is lovely and helpful and accomodating, and the room was sparkling clean with a big comfy bed.

Excellent location, close to all places and key spots in Rouen.

Very good communication beforehand regarding parking. Older male receptionist quite unfriendly on numerous occasions. All other staff were super friendly (reception
and housekeeping). Rooms in excellent condition.

Great hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel itself was in a great spot. Loved it.

Parking is minimal. The property is located in the city's old section that was never planned for cars.

I stayed at the Mercure on 26.09.23, and I must say my experience was absolutely appalling. I generally refrain from posting negative reviews on public forums, but in this case, I felt compelled to do so because I could not find any email contact information on the Mercure website to lodge a formal complaint.
My night at your establishment was a living nightmare. I had just arrived on a flight from Ireland, exhausted and in dire need of a good night's sleep. However, that was completely impossible due to the overwhelming presence of what appeared to be fruit flies infesting my room. The sheer volume of these pests was beyond belief, and it made my stay a complete and utter disaster.
I am utterly disappointed that I had to pay for a room that presented such unacceptable conditions. This experience left me seething with anger.
I want to make it clear that I have stayed at your hotel in the past without any issues. However, this time, the level of hygiene and cleanliness was nothing short of abysmal. I have attached photos as evidence of the shocking flys going into this cup over a ten minute period.
In an attempt to prevent the flies from landing on me, I resorted to pointing a light at the recyclable cups provided by the hotel, hoping to keep the flies away from me. While this makeshift solution somewhat worked, I still spent the entire night swatting flies away from my face.

Hotel location was perfect near the Cathedral. The room was spacious and modern with comfortable bed with kettle and small fridge. Good shower and toilet facilities. Breakfast had a good variety of food. Parking was safe

Nice room, great location, found check in staff unfriendly. The reception gave me a key to a room that when we got there the maid was still cleaning. When I went back down and inquired if I was given the right room the manager became short with me for asking the question. The same manager also made a condescending comment to my daughter when she asked for a couple extra towels. Everything else was good.

This was our second time at this hotel in Rouen. The hotel is in a brilliant position in the centre of town. Parking is available if your car is less than 1.85m high - if not parking on the street is available (free between 7pm & 9am). Also there is a public car park. Our room at the back of the hotel was small and very hot (air conditioning very ineffectual). We were provided with a fan which helped a little. One small window and anaglypta wallpaper on the walls and ceiling, didn’t do anything to enhance the ambience. This is a lovely hotel with lovely staff - we were just unlucky with our room. My advice would be to ask for a room at the front of the hotel.
