Rooms, facilities and services were great. The spa had a lot of amenities not working and the bed was not very comfortable

First time staying at the Watergate and it was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately the pool was cold, hottub not working and sauna also not working. While we received a $100 credit, the reason for selecting the hotel on this trip was for those amenities. Very high quality service, wonderful staff, and great location!

Not the luxury I had expected by what your website said.
Bedding and bed was uncomfortable, no top sheet and the bottom sheet was not tucked in, very weird.
Food was extremely expensive but was good tasting.

Like a private residence. Always friendly and professional check-in and check-out; great doormen; comfortable, quiet, luxurious room; and the best pool in D.C. Great value, too.

A great hotel that lost its flair. Young staff without the proper service level and attendance. Our room was nice but missing out on base level comfort such as water bottles or minibar. The hotel overall is lacking the passion and feel it had some years ago.

The Watergate was a phenomenal experience, however it was quite disturbing the lack of a visible presence of Blacks who are descendants of the American enslaved working in the establishment, not even in housekeeping.
The lack of this demographic presence raises the question is the management circumventing hiring this sector by hiring foreign born people of color (POC), even from Turkey, to camouflage their discriminatory practices against ADOS (American Descendants of Slaves) people.
Additionally, I’m mobility challenged and require assistance. When my granddaughter came to pick me up the doormen were very abrupt with her as she waited for me. Because I stayed for 4 days and use a mobile scooter they were all aware of my limitations. Possibly that particular gentleman wasn’t on duty those 4 days and wasn’t aware of my situation. However, if that was the case, there was no excuse for his rudeness to my granddaughter.
Otherwise, the experience was delightful. And the spa is the best.

Where to start I am not sure but I will mention about the very kind and helpful staff. It was a business trip and they made it very easy and successful with their super assistance 🙏 Hotel room is very good size, often cleaning. Special thanks to Ms. Judith, Mr. Aziz and all others. Hope to work with you soon! Regards!

I really enjoyed the pool and spa features. The rooftop bar/restaurant was also enjoyable because of the views. It’s very close to the bike path so if you want to go for a run or a bike ride, it’s easy to get to. Staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful.

Decent hotel for the price for DC. Limited food options in the area, 1/2 mile walk to restaurants and metro.

There was a mouse that ran across the floor during our check-in

I had an amazing stay, 10/10.

The property is dated. The front desk and operator do not answer the phone. The service is terrible. And it took us twenty minutes to get the car from the valet. We had tried to call before we left the room but, like the night before, the front desk didn’t pick up the phone. This was a very disappointing stay.

5 star service from every associate I encountered. They hire well, train well and execute well on guest service. I showed up from a day riding bikes on the C&O Trail in muddy clothes and dirty bikes with room service closed and they treated me as though I walked out of a limo by grabbing bikes and storing in locked storage closet, telling me cleaning service will get the mud off the floor and helping me get a quick and easy food order by a near by restaurant. I’ll surely be back there the next trip to DC.

The Watergate is a nice hotel in a terrific location. The property underwent a renovation a few years ago and we really enjoyed our stay. Housekeeping and front desk staff were top notch. One of our two beds was very comfortable, the other just OK. The rooftop terrace was a great place to have a cocktail at the end of the day (Pricey but fun). Fitness center and pool are great. Walking distance to Kennedy Center and GWU and I went for a run down at the National Mall. They have a Scandal room that you can reserve or tour from where the surveillance took place for the break in. Valet parking was $58 but we were able to find spots close by on the street.

The incredible customer experience from the doorman to the front desk to the parking attendants. This was one of the best "service" experiences I have ever had. Class act and will surely stay at the Watergate again. Says a lot about the management, the hiring, the training and the focus they have on service as their number one priority.

Greatest place to stay if one is going to a performance at The Kennedy Center. Not only is it close, but it is a top notch hotel with a fantastic restaurant and a lovely view of the river.

I checked out earlier than my original reservation and was told to contact the hotel back for a refund for the rest of the nights. When I called, the hotel person said that they would ask their manager and get back to me by email. However, they never gotten back to me and have not been helpful when I tried to call them again. I have not heard anything directly from the hotel regarding my refund.

Asked when we’d be checking in a few days before, arrived when we said we would and at check in time and had to wait over an hour for our room. Beds were so far from the wall you lost your pillows because of the headboard gaps.

Understaffed spa and evening front desk employees led to late spa appointments and unfulfilled requests on multiple occasions. Stayed three nights and had to call all three days to have our room cleaned. Our shower drain was so slow that we would be wading in water within 1 minute. Our refrigerator leaked water. We notified management and nothing was done to correct any of the above issues.
Finally, after returning late one evening and calling the front desk to deliver nespresso cups (not refilled because no one came to clean the room) and no one answering, we texted them to leave cup refills on a small plate outside the room and went to bed at 11:45pm. At 1:30am, someone knocked on the door, waking us, and then quickly entered the room!?! The individual left after we screamed. We were terrified in a pitch black room. Who does that?!? Insane. Management had little to say the next day and there was no follow up on what was done regarding corrective action. This is far from luxury. This is bad. Problems can happen, but when customers identify issues, ignoring and compounding their concerns is not a path to maintaining and building a reputation.
There were nice touches. Chocolate covered strawberries and a hand written note upon check in (celebrating our 25th Anniversary, having celebrated our honeymoon at the Watergate). The view from the rooftop bar and the restaurant staff were “all star” level.
But the failures above need to be addressed.

Great hotel except when dignitaries are visiting and they lockdown the place

The balcony suite was nice, although my room stunk like sweaty socks. Not sure what the deal was. It was also a 3rd floor room, so our view was obstructed. The service was wonderful, as was the food, drinks and rooftop bar. I would stay again, but never again splurge on a suite. Not worth the extra cost - and difficult to move to another suite if you’re not happy.

The best experience I have ever had at a hotel point blank period. Impeccable service - and they upgraded our room!

Experience was peaceful, very pleasant overall. Only thing that annoyed me a bit was the failure to bring multiple things to my room upon front desk request. Asked for 3 toothbrushes they gave me 1, asked for a 3 extra pillows they gave me 1.
