Lovely property. However, we found one staff member who needed to be more informed about local activities and dining. We were directed to a museum that had already closed, then to a restaurant that was closed. All other staff were found to be friendly helpful and knowledgeable.

Beautiful hotel very close to the beach and boardwalk. We were upgraded to a room ocean view with balcony and enjoyed the view but unable to leave doors open due to road noise. Air conditioning did not work well for the warm weather in July. Otherwise we recommend.

Funky old hotel in good location. Breakfast 5 stars and breakfast staff 5 stars. Roof top deck is great but expensive. Reception staff not too helpful, and they didn't have the rooms we had reserved. Enjoyed our stay but disappointed that they did not accommodate our room request.

It’s a beautiful building and a great rooftop bar but the property is dated, rooms are stuffed up and need som me love and there is a strange rule that was not clearly stated on the booking page that the hotel is not allowed to put air conditioning on before mid May. Unfortunately not a great experience for a warm day!

We upgraded to a room with a view and it was beautiful with views of the ocean. The room was a little smaller than anticipated but it was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with great restaurant recommendations and information. The breakfast room was beautiful and they had a wonderful selection to choose from every morning. We enjoyed our stay very much. We didn’t have a car for parking so I can’t comment on that.

Adorable hotel characteristic of Viareggio in the days of elegant dining, phone booths and high ceilings with the convenience of a modern large bathroom. Location is perfect. Service fantastic. I have stayed in Viareggio many times but rarely return to a hotel for one reason or another but I would absolutely book this again.

1913 hotel kept fairly close to its 1922 renovation (in my opinion). As a princess or prince, you will like the property. Very large rooms with large bathrooms and sea view on 4th floor.

The hotel is not worth the rating and the money. It’s old and requires a lot of renovations. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning, it hardly worked during our stay and we asked the front desk staff to look into it every day. Someone would come in and fix it and then the cleaning staff would turn it off, causing it to break again. The showers leak. They also lost our dry cleaning and after regular follow up, asking them to call the laundry facility, we finally got it back 30 mins before our checkout

Everything about this newly-renovated hotel was perfect-from the unexpected upgrade to a terrace deluxe room at check in, to the “over the top” food and service at the rooftop restaurant. This century-old art nouveau architectural beauty sits right on the Viareggio promenade, which also has been significantly upscaled since the Pandemic. The evening scene from the roof terrace and the street level is simply magical. A special thanks goes out to Francesca at the concierge desk and Gabriela, the breakfast hostess. They were so kind to accommodate our little dog (who could not be in the breakfast dining room) by giving us access to the expansive breakfast buffet (including bubbles!) from the beautiful court yard garden each morning during our stay. We cannot wait to return to this special place; it is our new “go to” destination in Versilia.

It’s a beating Hotel (have been before) everything is possible and nothing is too much trouble! The staff are friendly but remain very professional! They are kind and polite and dress immaculately! We loved it so much we booked again for next year! The rooftop bar is absolutely splendid! Amazing views and extremely relaxing! It was really good to see staff still there — the last time we went was 2018 ! It’s very central to the whole of Viareggio and easy to get around other places! WE LOVED IT - thank you

We loved our stay at Palace Hotel. The location is great, easy to access the beach. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had in Italy. Staff continually went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. I would absolutely go there again.

Had a fantastic four night stay in Palace hotel. Our rooms were spotless clean and bed super comfortable, lovely big bathroom with lots of lovely toiletries and towels. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and super friendly staff

The hotel is a classic older style building. The lobby and dining area for breakfast, bar and enjoining tea room were very nice. My room was very clean (what always matters most). The bathroom was new. The room seemed outdated but the bed was comfortable. You may want to make sure the room has A/C if you go during the summer.

The hotel is definitely dated. I booked two rooms for two people each. Hotel stated they screwed up and over booked so gave us three rooms with two rooms being single bed rooms. I booked 9 months in advance so felt this was unfair. Front desk was nice. Breakfast was excellent. Rooftop area is great to order a bottle of wine and just relax at night and enjoy conversation with other tourists. Beach was great ! Loved the view of the mountains off the beach. I would rate this a 3.5 star. Breakfast saves that rating.

The hotel was lovely. The first room they gave us was very small but they changed it for a much bigger room on request and without extra charge. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always smiling. The only downside was the charge for the use of the beach ( €35 per day)which wasn't the fault of the hotel and we did shop around for a cheaper deal but it was a consideration when rating the facilities
