For the high recommendations to stay here, it was a truly disappointing stay. Only good part was hot tub, when kids weren't all over it. The food was just ok, the alcohol drinks were watered down, and the room was ok. The toilet was an after thought as it was half under the bathroom counter and right on edge of bathtub. We will not be back.

A lovely location in a peaceful lakeside setting. The room was spacious however we were disappointed that they do not offer housekeeping service each day. They only bring you what you need if you call them. For this type of resort I find that unacceptable especially considering how much some of they accommodations cost. Some advice... bring your own pillows if possible. The ones they have are too big and thick. The restaurant in the main building is great. Had a nice buffet breakfast there. Lots of activities available and the resort has many nature trails within close proximity including Algonquin Park, about 30 minutes away.

Very spacious and comfortable room with a nice view. Grounds are quite beautiful and well kept. It would have been nice to know where to find the elevator in the Bayshore bldg. I wandered around until I found someone who could help me. We are somewhat mobility impaired.

We were trying to enjoy the Fall Colours once again but they were not very good so we did other things like going to Johnson's Cranberry farm, taking in a art show in Bracebridge and picnicking in numerous parks that abound in these towns. Actually, as the photographer of the family I got some GREAT sunrises right at Deerhurst and the nice thing about fall is the sun rises at a more civilized time than earlier in the season. And, we had a beautiful outdoor breakfast around 7:00 AM at Frenchies crepes right at the Bayshore Building. Outstanding The landscape is beautiful even without the vibrant fall colours.

I highly recommend Deerhurst Resort for any family vacation in the northern Muskoka Region. The lake water is a bit cooler but very clean and refreshing. They have an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. They also have kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, seadoos and boats for rent. Book now and enjoy.

Check in was terrible, staff not very friendly-room was not ready on time at 4pm they told us would call us when it was ready. We sat in the lobby and then went over again to check if our room was ready yet and they said oh yes, it’s ready…We just forgot to call you, while we were sitting there the whole time!! The balcony was covered in mould and cobwebs, the room was very dated. Pillows are also super thick and not comfortable. The pool was nice though.

Do NOT book Bayshore building. They do not advertise it as it is - the crappiest building at Deerhurst. No cleaning, they provide vacuums for you to clean your own room. No AC in main spaces, no washrooms on first floor despite being closest proximity to beach. Not accessible to pool area (cannot get there with a wagon or stroller). Note, they advertise 4 restaurants but only 1 is actually open all day, others are strictly open after 5 pm. Deerhurst Resort should be called Deerhurst Rentals.

Room was delayed for a couple of hours, never received the text promised when the room was to be ready. When asked about the delay, no response and they ignored me, I understand your busy, it’s summertime, but have the decency to apologize to have the opportunity to rectify the mistake, I gave them the opportunity, they failed miserably.

Nice location, free non-motorized water sports. Limited dining or food period. Dirty beach area with poop from birds. The building we stayed in was old and needed total renovation and new amenitiesies. Prices are high for what they offer.

The amenities of the hotel are great. Pools are nice and well kept. Rooms in the pavilion could use some TLC! You can tell they are super fun down. Also, pavilion is pet friendly which is fine but not when dogs are left in the rooms, our neighbour had a dog that was barking and crying for a good hour, front desk couldn’t care so that was not ideal when you are trying to sleep.

The lake is beautiful. The room was clean. The buffet dinner was very nice. The beach area is very small. Too many people and kids. Not enough chairs. Not enough kayaks. The beach area was not kept clean. Geese poop everywhere. The outdoor pools are very small and again very overcrowded with kids. Staff do not check the rooms. Items I forgot were taken from my room. Never go again.

Overall the resort was amazing (the hotel and resort itself is huge). The availability of free activities on the lake (paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaks etc) were brilliant and we really enjoyed these as a family during our stay. We ate in the restaurants on each day and the quality of the food and service was high. Our only observation was that the interior of the Bayshore building (which we stayed in) was a little tired and could do with some updating. The lake shore building felt more modern and we would probably look to stay here if we visited again which we would have no hesitation in doing!

Overall was a nice place. A little disappointed that our rooms were given to us so late after their 4 pm check in policy. It is difficult when you have babies, and small kids and two dogs and have to wait that long. We arrived at 1 knowing that the rooms may not be ready, but we were assured they would be ready by 4. As such we did things to keep them busy but it ended up being far too long of a wait to get all 3 of our rooms past 4 pm.

Great trip for the family. The only negative was the food. The restaurants in the resort are pricey for what you get. The quality of the food was just okay and doesn’t merit the cost. Luckily there are lots of great options in Huntsville.

Property is beautiful, some of the rooms are still dated. Everything closes down at 6pm so other than dinner Monday - Wednesday there’s not a lot to do. Would’ve been nice to know that the beach was a little more of a public feel than a resort, as in being your own umbrella, food and snacks and towels unless you want to walk all the way to the main building for the little wash cloths. Just wish we had known to be better prepared. Kids had a great time. Property is clean and staff is nice. Restaurants pretty good too.

We took the family for 2 nights. We honestly had a wonderful time. The staff was wonderful, The food was good, scenery was great! The lake and the pools were great as well. Overall just a great time. I will definitely be back next year.
