The actual Olde Bell building looks very nice but we were in a building away from the main building. It’s annoying when you book a place that looks great and then you’re stuck in some back building. The building we were in was fine, but at 6am there was an extremely loud humming/rumbling sound that went on for hours. I don’t know if it was the fan from the room next door, or what it was but it woke us up and we couldn’t sleep after because of the terrible noise. I wouldn’t stay there again.

As usual amazing team thankyou. Food was outstanding.
One request, please speed up the new breakfast service.

Dinner, bed and breakfast was excellent value for money. The staff at breakfast could have been more attentive but otherwise all good.

Hotel was nice, comfortable and clean. Arrived late in the evening and left early the next day so never had the time to explore. Breakfast was nice and staff very helpful.

Beautiful historic pub in small village. Comfortable rooms, nice buffet style breakfast the next morning. For the price and quality of the hotel the in room amenities were pretty basic.

Really great stay, comfy bed, great location and staff wonderful and very welcoming. The breakfast was great except the sausages and black pudding were undercooked and the beans were cold but there was lots of options and plenty to choose from so it was delicious. Room was great but we were only provided with one set of towels and there were 2 of us, rang down to reception several times but no one answered so frustrating, my poor husband hand to using a tiny towel for his shower so not ideal. I definitely recommend staying here especially if you are attending a wedding near by. The locals are all really lovely too.

Had a great stay overnight on a business trip. All the staff were friendly and smiling and my food was served in the bar in good time and tasted fantastic. My room was spacious and quiet and I enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Would recommend to all.

The building and setting is nice but unfortunately the quality of the food is poor, breakfast was a big disappointment, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. One example (of many), we sat at the same table for breakfast the two mornings we stayed. The first morning I noticed a chip on the floor underneath. I thought "strange they wouldn't have cleaned that from last night." But the next morning it was still there, so who knows how long it had been since the floor was cleaned, that chip could have been there for weeks!?
The best thing about the place for us traveling with a small kid, was the huge enclosed garden. Kids could run around and play freely there, which was lovely. But (amongst other things left uncleaned outside) there were tons of old cigarette buts on the ground around all the tables, which was very off putting.
If I were back in the area again on a kid free trip I would not stay here again. If I came back with kids I would consider it, just for the ease of letting them play in the massive garden. I would skip the breakfast on a future trip.
It's a shame, because the historic building is lovely and the staff were pleasant, but the attention to detail in cleanliness, quality of produce and cooking leave a lot to be desired. It could be a really great place to stay if there were improvements in this area, which seems should be feasible considering the prices are standard to high for a countryside pub with accommodation.

Lovely helpfulstaff , great accommodation, lovely setting .

Nice, friendly and accomodating staff.
Big room for young family.
However the only let down was that the shower which nearly flooded the room due to the build of the shower area/screen.
Also we noticed marks on the matress protector when the sheets moved.
These were the only let downs to a acceptable stay in a lovely area.

Great place to stay, old pub but the rooms were modernised well with character. Depending on which room you get some are a little hard to find - I had to walk through various function rooms to get to the signs for my room, but once I found it it was no problem to get back. Food was good and can eat either in the restaurant or in the pub/ pub garden for more relaxed environment. Great breakfast and super friendly staff. Nice short walk to get to the river and the lock

Nice big room, breakfast was good, parking was easy and there are loads of spaces set in the middle of a lovely village. My only complaint would be with no air conditioning on one of the warmest days in the year I could not get my room under 26C and that would be in the morning, it was hotter at the end of the day which made it hard to sleep. There was a fan which I used but it was so hot. A small fridge would have been nice to keep some water cool.

After completing a 100km Ultra, my coach to pick me up was 3 hours late! Meant I had to check in at 1am!
Not a problem for the hotel at all. All ready when I arrived to my very comfortable room (No11). Lovely bed and beautiful bathroom.
Decor of the room original and very well done.
No hesitation in recommending.

Upon arrival we were told that the room we booked was not available so we were given an accessible room which was large but the room was not clean especially the bathroom. The shower was awful & the worst shower. I’m just glad I am not disabled as we struggled as able bodied.

We have stayed here several times before and love it. It is always great value compared to other establishments in the area.

The Olde Bell is perfect in every way. Beautiful grounds, wonderful room, delicious meals. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. It is perfect.

Beautiful old building with spacious rooms but ambience and decor are stunted by poor management and maintenance. The bed frame was too big for the mattress, leaving a 1/2 foot gap all round the bed in which the meagre pillows often got lost. The mattress was too big for the bed linen. Everything seemed to be falling into disrepair - window screens with gaping holes, paint peeling off the walls. Our first morning there, they ran out of eggs at breakfast! Suffice to say, we didn’t stay for breakfast the next day. Shame for a cosy space.

Amazing team here. Work hard to make the stay perfect.
Too much of the food was missing from the menu.
Floor in the accommodation needed another sweep/clean.
Must emphasise, the front of house staff are excellent

The historic inn areas are beautiful with much wood and thoughtful touches, furniture and decor combines comfort and aesthetics. The garden is a peaceful haven with lots of space and flowers... and Thames footpath is very close by. The only issue was that our room was not ready on time but the above-and-beyond helpful staff more than made up for the inconvenience and we had a delightful wait in the garden. They do do remarkable service running front desk, bar, gourmet restaurant (the Scarlet Pimpernel could not have asked for a better supper).
Definitely get the breakfast option!

Always great staff. Always good food. However you’ve changed your breakfast to self service. Live it but please make sure it’s warm. Recent experience was a cold full English. Otherwise brilliant place to stay

Huge amazing rambling property with big company cost cutting evident. Would need a fortune spent to make it in to the place it should be. Every cost corner cut but I believe there may be some signs of life in new recruitment in kitchen. Decent breakfast.

Absolutely fantastic, although there was part of my booking lost, this was soon rectified. The service was impeccable and could not do enough

Stayed here overnight whilst travelling on business . Arrived around 730pm, hotel easy to find and lots of parking.
Allocated a room in the lodge area, clean but basic, not bad for a 3 star hotel.
WiFi was excellent and available everywhere.
Evening meals available in the pub, this was an area which let the hotel down, very limited vegan options (only soup starters, no desserts). A burger on the mains and I think they could do better.
Overnight room was very quiet, ideal for a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was a great service , very polite staff and a great continental fruit selection. Vegan options again could be better , sausage was low quality - choices need updating . Fresh fruit and juice plus oat milk was well received.
Easy check out process no complaints.
The limited food would probably put me off from a return visit , there’s not much else in the area to compete either. Hopefully they update the menu soon.

Lovely old 12th Century Hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Food is pretty good too, though quite pricey.
Wine large Glass of Gavi £16 🙄..

Very pretty village and area.
Good value for money. Nice, clean, if basic rooms, but nice comfortable bed. Lots of parking. Good breakfast. Friendly staff, if gaps in when you could find them. Access to Thames path.
A couple of options for food. I went to The Rising Sun. Good beer and a buzz in a Thursday evening, and food choice okay (but not inspiring). Amazingly in this day and age, no WiFi so back to paper and pen for working
I’d be happy to stay again

Lovely old buildings in a quaint town. Clean, comfortable room. Reasonable breakfast (except for lack of full fat yoghurt!). Good value for an overnight stay. I was in a basic room, I can’t speak for the more expensive options.

Booked a last minute stay for the weekend with my partner. We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival, and to our surprise when we got to the room we noticed that we had been upgraded which was delightful! The hotel and our room were gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. Really cannot fault our experience. Thank you to the staff x

Amazing building with great features, though finished with a luxury feel. Restaurant food was good value for money and really tasty. Friendly service by all staff from check in, dining, breakfast to check out

Lovely room and gardens. Not sure if just because it was twixmas but the menu was limited to fried dishes so we had to go to the other village pub for food. Breakfast was reasonable.
