Just stayed for work in the area. Overall great value at 42 pounds per 1 night stay plus 7.50 parking. (December) Comfortable room and bed and decent hot shower. Quite quiet for a busy outside city life, so got good solid sleep. 24 hour staff and night porters are good too, so you can pop in and out for your smokes.

The establishment has seen much better days, but it's one of our go-to places for an odd night in Liverpool. Generally, it's been better than its ratings suggest, so long as you dont eat the food. This time wasn't so good at all. The bathroom in the bar had a major problem, solved by a load of towels on the floor. The bathroom in the room had seen better days and nothing worked as it should, even though it could be made to function. On the plus side, the room, though smallish, was dry, warm and comfortable. Still a good place to stay for a good night on the town

Beautiful reception and downstairs, but standard rooms are poor to fair, windows don’t shut in some rooms and hence very drafty as widows are old and in need of attention, heard the same complaints from many guests

On our first night the roof sprung a leak and we where upgraded to a suite

The man on reception set the tone as he acted like a bear with a sore tooth , no eir contact, tried to engage him in conversation and got nothing back. The room was ok but the tv had a very limited number of channels available wouldn’t have been a problem but as a frequent traveller I always ask for a full working tv and remote control. Checked out in the morning where the women was very helpful and even gave directions .

Room was clean, bed comfy so all good

Comfortable clean room. Sink plug was missing, a chip in the bath which is starting to rust, no bedside lamps, small things. Good breakfast.
Overall though a very enjoyable stay, we love the character of the hotel. We have stayed afew times previously and would do so again.

Worst hotel iv ever stayed in rooms were dirty and dated paint peeling everywhere ruined our weekend completely, breakfast awful needs shutting down such a shame I’m sure it was grande back in the sixties when it was last updated

The queue at check-in was so long it took 30mins. I went to reception an hour later and it was the same. This hotel charges £7 a day for wifi, £13 a day for parking. The room was disgusting. Old, grubby, tired. I stayed at The Adelphi as a child and it was very posh. Faded glory . Extremely overpriced.

Overnight stay the room was dirty stains all over carpet and the bathroom flooded when it rained causing health hazard water dripping from light in ceiling and soaking bathroom floor

Arrived at the Adelphi and it looked very festive with the lovely Xmas decor. Check in was quick and was given a double room on the 3rd floor room 325 which was disappointing as I had requested to be close to the lifts and couldn’t have been further away. The room was roomy with bathroom with over bath shower but was very cold with no heating on. The bed and pillows were both very hard and the pillows desperately need renewed but the bedding was clean. The biggest problem in the room was not having a mirror in the bedroom anywhere and no socket in the bathroom which made it really difficult to do hair etc.

Hotel is very tired and in need of some old.

Avoid Absolutely awful accommodation in a v poor state of repair decor The rooms were like being in some prison camp
Reception foyer down at heel and damp pervasive everywhere
Mattresses and pillows dated Photos on website nothing like what we got We left after spending 1 night ( and only because we arrived late at night)
Area a bit rough and didn’t feel safe

Hotel is old and shows it, hasn't had any real investment for years. Decor tired, peeling paint and paper, executive room we paid extra for was small, cold and cramped, looks like only upgrade for an executive room was a coffee machine!
Outside was dirty and little care taken to clean it up, homeless people sat outside on steps not being moved on by staff.
Staff at breakfast not explaining to customers what to do at breakfast - just telling them it is buffet breakfast.
Staff at breakfast wanted to take my pate when I was still eating.
Parking is not actually at the hotel but a short walk away up a hill in a car park monitored by a car park company - hotel staff told me it was on their land!
I would not go back and have cancelled a stay at a Britannia hotel in Manchester on the back of this visit to the Adelphi.

We arrived to a massive queue of people waiting to check in, only 2 staff on and one kept disappearing. There was a real odd odour in the lobby, like wet carpet. had to wait mins to check in. Lift was filthy dirty and again a bad smell. Room had a damp patch on the ceiling where it had tried to be painted over but paper had split under the weight of the paint. one of the towels was clearly dirty with stains on in the bath room and stained flooring. The front steps were littered with detritus. I can honestly say I would never stay here again or recommend it.

The place was clean and tidy. It was a good place to stay for 2 nights in the city centre. But the bathroom is abit dated and its needs updating but it worked fine

The stay was good value and the adjacent car park was very convenient. It was a comfortable stay in a grand hotel

I wasnt expecting anything more than the 3 star hotel it is, which is sad for such a beautiful building with it rich history.
Service was fine. Decor dated, badly in need of massive/tasteful renovation (no doubt expensive though!)
Room - clean, tiny (is a twin). Radiator stuck om, was sleeping in a sauna, 'sleeping' is a stretch
- Breakfast - honestly, awful. Basic range (less choice than at Premier Inn), hot buffet was, er, not hot but stone cold. Sausages and Hash Browns tasted like they'd have been really nice if even like warm. Coffee machine was broken, no sign on it just several cups of hot wataer where customers kept trying to use it... instant avaliable but was possibly the worst cup of coffee I've ever had.
Bar - small, but lovely and representative of the history/building Whiskey Sour was top notch.

Classic Historical Hotel, in extensive disrepair. Formica marble cladding to bathroom walls. Bathroom door jammed. Loose bath panels. Rusty sink fittings. World's thinnest toilet paper. Broken door handle. Exhaust fan not working. 30 min queue at check-in.

Room was ok. Bathroom was ok. As room was at front of hotel was a bit noisy. Next time would request room x
Nice and warm. Reception staff were nice

Everything perfect, though no-one topped up the tea in the room, so I had to go to reception to ask for more.

Gammelt slitt hotell.

Tired but still elegant hotel. Needs updating but the history is magnificent. Room was good but the bathroom was very poor. The bath requires renewal, something out of the '70's.

Rooms red hot can’t open window and then when you have a shower may as well have a bath as the bath fills with water. Old and run down and charging 85 a night for that is a bit much

Just overnight, comfortable bed, good shower…

Just needed somewhere to sleep close to Lime Street. It was ok for a solo traveller and far cheaper than most hotels in the city centre - it has old fashioned rooms and reception area but it is clean. I found it hard to sleep because of the loud plumbing/boilers every few mins and the bed was not great; I could feel the springs. The shower was poor and not good water pressure but I had a bath instead and that was fine. Weirdly there was no main light in my room either, just lamps at the bedside.
I arrived at the hotel late - there were some unsavoury characters near the entrance and I had to show bouncers my confirmation email just to reach reception which was a little alarming but I get that it was a Saturday night in the city centre so the security was probably necessary.

As ever, Britannia hotels are generaaly tired, and run into the ground. The Adelphi is a grand hotel, with it's fantastic history. However, a lack of investment is quite telling. That said the room was comfortable enough.

First room didn't have a shower but was moved quickly and easily to another

As a place to rest your head, it did its job. I’ve stayed in more comfortable hostels though.
The whole hotel looks like it has been waiting for a refurbishment since the late 90’s! The bed I slept in was extremely firm, the soundproofing in the rooms was poor so you heard doors slamming up and down the hallway. The furniture in the room was a bit battered, the bathroom was shabby and the bath tub especially had peeling enamel. The windows were old with poor secondary glazing (that might be a restriction due to the age of the building though).
As if to underline the need for work, one of the 2 lifts was out of commission on the second evening…not good for a hotel with rooms over 6 floors!
To sum up it was a very tired and shabby hotel. Its location was great for our needs and it did its job for the weekend. But I would probably not stay there in future unless it has an extensive renovation!

Grand hotel showing signs of age, but believe bedrooms are being updated. Huge lounge to relax in. Fantastic location, 5mins walk from Liverpool Lime St station. All staff great. Would stay again 👌

Just really grim. Sinatra stayed here once and that's the last time they dusted the place.
