We booked a king suite with bunk beds. We loved this option for our kids…hotel rooms aren’t always made for a family of 5! The kids loved the bunk room. Each bed had a light of its own so they could read and do a little homework. Everything was clean and comfortable. The heater in the bunk room didn’t work, but we opened the door wide open and the room heat seemed enough for the kids. Continental breakfast was adequate. I wish there was some fruit to go with all the carbs, but what was there was good. Overall, we would stay again just because of the king/bunk bed arrangement. It was so nice for us to spread out and have some more space at a reasonable rate!

Location was good; breakfast was a joke, more a grab junk food and run options to eat. Coffee was always cold, only over-ripe bananas for fruit.

Stay was average. Cleanliness was great. Front desk was not very honest when I asked if they had a jacuzzi. She said yes and never disclosed it was not working. Other than that the room was nice and clean but the beds were average. For last minute it was not bad. I just wish the young girl was more truthful

We always stay at Vagabond when we’re visiting Bishop. On this trip we’re on our way to Lake Tahoe for a winter wonderland. We love staying at this hotel because it’s clean and for the price you get a nice decent room. My only critique would e just to make the tv screen a little bigger. The flat screen tv is pretty small, other than that we’re completely satisfied with our room every single time we stay here. Also, the guy at the front desk is extremely nice and helpful.

This is kind of a so-so place; its main attraction is the Denny's Restaurant next door. There's an added fee for recreation or something like that, which everyone has to pay even when it's too cold to use either the pool or the BBQ area. Very aggravating.

Room was clean but had a strange smell. Wall mounted heater/ac would turn off and on too often. So i just kept off. Walls are paper thin could hear almost everything the upstairs unit was doing. Initially I thought it was quiet but no. We really didn't get any sleep.

Went there to get out of the city for a couple of days and breath the clean air. Room was clean. Staff was very helpful when asked for assistance. Pet friendly and they have a grass dog run area in the back.

It was very nice. It's an older hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. They are pet friendly and have a large dog area in the back. We have been staying here for more than 35 years. We have never been disappointed.

Comfortable, convenient, clean. Nice dog area, even though several people did not pick up their dog’s poop. Unfortunately we were not advised ahead of time that there was NO hot water, not even at check-in. They said that guests were called to advise this. We were not called. They did give us a 30% discount in the room. The a/c worked well, but we couldn’t have it on overnight because of the loud and blowing fan. The room was hot, and there was no lightweight blanket option to the warm comforter.

Best value in Bishop. As a business woman that travels, always need to feel safe and I’ve tried many other hotels in town before I found this one. No frills but clean and reasonably priced.

We booked a King room with bundled beds, but upon arrival, we were informed it was unavailable despite prepayment. Unfortunately, the air conditioning and lighting were malfunctioning, particularly in the bathroom and sink area. Following a tiring hike, we sought immediate rest to prepare for an early departure for another hike, forcing us to bathe in darkness.

Upon arrival we were informed the remaining rooms either had no electricity or no hot water. We had reserved 3 rooms. We were offered a 30% discount. What a bad situation with no good remedy!

Only issue we had was that we reserved a king bed and when we arrived they put us in a 2 queen, an ‘upgrade.’ We reserved the king specifically because my husband is so tall. And they would have charged the higher amount if we hadn’t said something. Location was great. Big pet lawn area.

Hotel was nice, but dated. The room lights couldn't have been much dimmer. Please, at least have bright led lights. My wife said that she felt she was sleeping on a wierd angle, meaning the mattress was old. You could tell that the hotel was really pinching pennies which shouldn't have been the case at $139 per night. Overpriced.

The staff is very friendly. Also very helpful and understanding when I locked myself out of my room. The area is quiet even though it's right on 395 and the location seemed very safe. (I accidentally left the car key in the car all night and it was still there in the morning.)The complimentary breakfast was good, waffles, bagels, oatmeal, muffins etc. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. There was a microwave and mini fridge which was awesome! And either the water or the supplied shampoo and conditioner made my hair look amazing! I will definitely stay here on my next road trip.

We prefer to stay in motels when we travel by car, and have experienced many different levels of service and quality. The Vagabond in Bishop is charming, and well maintained. Service was efficient and all employees were helpful cheerful. The workspace and vanity shelf are large enough to accommodate the toiletries of two travelers. The windows actually open far enough to let in a breeze, but the blackout curtains are effective for those who like to sleep in in the AM. The morning breakfast is the typcial fruit, cereal, toast, and juice, with plentiful coffee. The beds were comfortable. Sensitive folks my find the plastic cover on the mattress a bit noisy when turning over, but most would not be aware of it. Like all first floor rooms in motels everywhere, we could hear occasional footsteps and sounds from the room above, but, though the motel was completely booked, we never heard anything from the rooms on either side.

This hotel is usually my go to stop when I am traveling on Hwy 395. The pool area is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable. They had an issue with the boiler while I was there and offered to cancel the reservation or give my 30% off which was nice. And they called to let me know ahead of time so I could decide what I wanted to do.

Room was clean, usual size, comfortable bed. Small issue, showering was a bit inconvenient, nowhere to put your toiletries, no hooks to hang anything. Pool area could use some sprucing up. Staff was courteous.
