Absolutely above and beyond. Wasn't planning on having to stay overnight in Birmingham but I missed my flight due to being stress and all that goes with bearevment. I wasn't going to post a review until later but wanted to thank everyone at Holiday Inn Express Birmingham for a bright light on a dark day. They did everything, even booked my taxi for this morning. They fed and watered me and just really, really gave me a much needed lift.

Check in staff tired to make me repay for the room staring the payment had been attempted this morning g but due to then changing providers it has failed. I stated I have pre paid to which they request my bank statement, when I was able to provide them with the ‘paid receipt’ and bank transaction they swiftly provided me with my room key and said nothing else. I genuinely believe this was an attempt to double charge me.

They were very helpfull and friendly on arrival. The room was very clean but would I’ve liked a bigger television and the breakfast was quite good but could of been more of a selection with hot breakfast and would of liked it a bit warmer because the breakfast was not very hot but it was good would stay again

Decent for the price we paid. Breakfast was great. Room on the small side and the aircon in the room needed a service as we all started coughing when it was on. The windows cannot be opened, so we ended up with stale air.

Room was fine, very spacious, my only issue was that I waited over an hour for my food in the restaurant and this was only because I mention it to the staff that I had been waiting that long, I was offered a free beverage due to the wait.

1st impressions on entering hotel were good. Staff seem friendly and reasonably attentive. Distinct smell of bleach in the room. Room and furnishings were clean but tired and in need of refurb. The bed and pillows were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced in any hotel, across the world! Food pretty good but way overpriced

We were checked in to a room that hadn't been cleaned , we were quickly given an upgraded room with a free drink and snack we didnt complain as rooms get missed im sure .. breakfast was lovely, a bit of a free-for-all at first ,no cutlery lack of cooked food dirty tables,but it soon calmed down and between 9.30 and 10 am there was plenty of everything, we would definitely return.

Really grwar after a show at the NEC, its a long walk or a £6 taxi to the actual NaeC but lovely hotel with 24 hiyr facikities and excellent staff. Super thank you.

I moved the tv as it was a better high for me to do my paperwork and there was some popadom kindly left under it. The cleaning staff seemed rushed off their feet so to be fair I’m not blaming them! The staff on arrival were really helpful. The one lift really sounded bad tho but the overall stay was fine

A comfortable and convenient stop en route home. Very friendly and helpful staff, a spacious and comfortable room, and a good breakfast included. The parking meter was a bit difficult to manage and the room we were allocated had not been cleaned, but both problems quickly resolved by helpful staff.

This was a last minute booking after a cancelled flight out of Birmingham airport. I paid £350 for one night, and the room was nowhere near the standard I’d expect at that price. The room had an awful smell, like mouldy rotten smell. Curtains were old and stained. TV looked like something from a university Dorm in 2004. In the bathroom, there was tiles hanging loose on the wall. On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfy with loads of pillows. Also, the lobby area is nice enough, and staff were pleasant. Pretty annoying to get there to find they stop serving food at 9:30, and they didn’t even have room service available. They suggested I could have chocolate / crisps from the vending machine. Shockingly bad for a £350 a night international airport hotel.

At booking time I pressed on the wrong date and did not realise. I needed an accessible hotel room on the same day and I had chosen the next day. Even though I phoned minutes after booking I was told nothing could be done to help me change the date. We are not impressed with Expedia, who tried to phone the hotel but could not get an answer (even though I had phoned and spoken to the hotel before Expedia tried) or IHG who would not accept a mistake had been made in the booking form and help us. Will try to stop friends and family using Expedia or IHG as there was no help for us at all. IHG said if we hadn’t booked through Expedia they would have been able to accommodate us!! A definite warning NOT to use Expedia.

Staff very friendly and attentive. Little issue with dinner 1 night but fixed and given free desserts as an apology which wasnt needed as mistakes happen. Room clean and tidy, had everything needed. Would 100% recommend others to stay here. Cant fault a thing.

We booked specifically as knew we would be arriving on a late flight and looked forward to the free breakfast the following morning. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well however going down to breakfast at 9.30 we were met with what I can only describe as a cattle market. Virtually no food was left and the entire room was in disarray with people searching for plates, cutlery and the last remaining few slices of toast! While the hotel can do little to stop people piling plates full of food to excess if a free breakfast is on offer then it needs to be somewhat better thought through, maybe not having a 10am cut off on a Sunday would help spread out the rush somewhat. Overall a really stressful experience and we wished we had booked the Ibis right at the airport, saved the taxi cost and paid for breakfast there!!

Wonderful hotel for a short overnight stay! Fantastic check in service, rooms were small for family of four but we were just sleeping there so for value for money it was outstanding. Breakfast included was incredible. Only flaw is they parking was additional to the cost of hotel at £12 per night

The hotel reception looks lovely so i had high hopes! We were staying as a family of three in quite possibly the smallest room they had. It was so small that we couldn't even get the chair out from under the desk with the sofa bed set up. The double bed was rock solid and i barely slept the two nights we were there. The heat in the room was unbearable and the aircon done notbing other than make a loud racket and the sound of constant running water. The breakfast was a plus and the majority of the staff were helpful. I do feel that some were just totally uninterested in their job. We were left a dirty towel from a previous guest which just added to the stay!

I arrived at the hotel at 00:45am, to be told that I had no electricity in my room due to issues with an electrician. While not their fault and I was offered a free stay, it was less than ideal having no electricity for lights or chargers in the room. The staff were helpful and supportive throughout this. Breakfast, basic with no fresh fruit on offer.
