Excellent location, comfortable room and public areas friendly helpful staff. Great value.. Not had better for a long time.

Great location, limited parking, room was cold as the old windows dont stop drafts but it was Stom Darragh. Water pressure in shower very poor. Large comfy bed.

Beautiful hotel inside and out great location in walking distance to other bars and restaurants. There is on street parking nearby or you can pay and park at the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfy some rooms have better views than others so it maybe worthwhile checking which rooms are on the front. The bar and restaurant within the hotel were amazing not just with the decor but the staff and the food were outstanding. All members of staff from the receptionists to the management were friendly and you could tell by the atmosphere that they all enjoyed working there. The food was fantastic possibly the best restaurant food i'd ever had !!. All food and drinks were reasonably priced and very good quality. The breakfast was nice and offered a good variety. All in all a very happy and memorable experience ..i will definitely go back again. A 5 out of 5 .!!

Room absolutely freezing No Heating Hotel unable to supply portable heater staff not really bothered about the freezing temperatures in the room,so had to go out and buy two water bottles and asked for extra duvets even the restaurant was cold,

Hotel nice but there was a heating / humming noise throughout the stay which did affect sleeping.

Great hotel, nice staff, centrally located to all shops and restaurants. We will stay here again.

I stayed at the Great Yorkshire Hotel located in Harrogate City Centre.
I stayed in a solo single room under the eaves on the 3rd floor of the hotel.
When trying out the shower, the water was extremely weak to the point where I could only quickly wash my hair.
The single bed that I slept in, the mattress was far too hard and very uncomfortable to sleep in. I now have lower back ache because of how hard the mattress was.
The floor boards were creaking and everything didn’t quite seem up to standards. The tv in the room I stayed in, took a while to turn on, even attempting it by using a brand new remote.

Nice hotel in great location. Pleasant and accommodating staff. Nice big bedroom which was well equipped if perhaps a little too hot for comfort when sleeping?
Only downside was cost of parking which at £15 per day seems a little excessive?

We had two Junior suites which were large enough, but the water pressure on the showers was insufficient for a shower. We complained to reception and was told we would have to take it up with Hotels.Com. I felt this was not good enough as they probably have this complaint regularly and haven’t sorted it out. I asked for free breakfast for the 4 of us and they snapped my hand off. Other than the shower everything was fine. Great location, good bar and food was very nice in the bar.

Lovely hotel great location, however the room was tired and shower was coming away and wouldn’t slide shut properly.

Comfortable stay. Lovely staff throughout the hotel especially Chloe on reception and the restaurant staff in general. Slight issue with shower not emptying but reported at reception and sorted.

The room was red hot and no windows in room 112 so could not open to cool. Hotel are obviously aware of this room being hot as the had left a fan in the room. In November !!
1.0
Well room 114 was not fit for purpose as it was hot and stuffy and the supplied fan for the room was useless. Location was great the rest of the hotel was awful.

Lovely stay would definitely visit again. Good sized king bed and well proportioned bathroom. Good quality decorations.
Some issues with on-site restaurant with availability, but food was lovely.

Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Parking was available in front of the property for an additional £15 per day. Rooms were really big, bathroom spacious and bed super comfortable!! Excellent value for money, for a Sunday and in a great location for the Harrogate exhibition centre. Only criticism was the room was a bit chilly and we could hear trucks unloading early in the morning (the windows might need upgrading, due to the nature of the building). Will definitely be back next year.

Hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Harrogate & the surrounding areas.
Staff I encountered were excellent.
Only downside for me was our room 220 backed on to the street at the rear of the hotel & we had refuse vehicles emptying bins & other deliveries at 05:45 in the mornings, which wasn’t great.
I’d definitely stay again but would ask for room at the front.

Beds comfortable and great facilities in room.
Would definitely return.

We were in room 115 this room was so hot, small opening in the window and two fans in the room which only blew the hot air around the room. We have stayed here a few times hence the reason for booking again however, this has really put us off. The price we paid for the room was excessive given the unbearable heat, don’t think we will be back.

We have stayed at the Yorkshire hotel on quite a few occasions and enjoy the hotel and location. We recently booked a de-lux double room which was slightly more expensive. We were suprised that the room had neither a case stand or easy chair, which we have had when staying in other rooms at the hotel, so definitely not worth the extra.

Nice stay as always thanks

I was welcomed warmly and clearly explained the check-in and check-out process as well as the expectations for breakfast.
My room, though small, was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but perfectly functional, except nowhere to hang towels or a shelf in the shower for toiletries.
Breakfast was well cooked and presented with a good range of continental options. However, as someone who is gluten intolerant, these options were greatly reduced. Even the sausage was not gluten-free which is disappointing as many produced sausages are gluten-free at little to no extra cost.
As I left I forgot to pack my e-reader. I rang reception the next day and they located it and sent it back to me. Great service, thanks.

Great nice stay in an historic hotel, room nice, bed comfortable, breakfast room great with nice views over the town and gardens, Stunning meal in the pickled sprout , a must to eat when in Harrogate. The fat badger is also great for a nice pre dinner point and watch the world go by

We have stayed at the Yorkshire Hotel on a number of occasions. We have been very satisfied with the experience. On our most recent experience, we were dissatisfied. It transpired that three rooms had been booked in error. We only needed two rooms. Two rooms were booked in the name of Elizabeth Butterfield, one room was booked in the name of John Butterfield.
Despite saying that the room bookings were in the name of Butterfield when we checked in, we were not advised that three rooms had been booked. We were handed two room keys.
We had paid one room in advance. On check out we were charged for two rooms. One which we occupied the other which we did not.
I queried the position after our stay. The hotels position was that three rooms had been booked so three rooms needed to be paid for. I found this a disappointing outcome as there was no attempt at a compromise solution. I feel there was an obligation on check in to tell us that three rooms were booked in the name of Butterfield. The hotel felt no such obligation. There was no effort to find a compromise. A disappointing outcome for loyal customers.

A lovely Hotel, staff were excellent. The room was spotless but the bathroom was small and awkward for larger people.

Great location and lovely public areas. The room was lovely but it was incredibly hot and also up several different staircases which were difficult to navigate with a suitcase. It would be useful to mention this at the time of booking.
Would stay again but request a room not in the annex as the main building has a lift.

No A/C in the rooms so it was very hot. The hotel did provide a fan which helped a little. The wifi reception on the 3rd floor was terrible and connection was difficult. When I mentioned this on check-out the hotel told me it was only advertised as free wifi because it was poor quality and "dodgy". Unbelievable.
4.0
Immaculate hotel - quintessential English style town. The room was small but the bathroom was large and modern. There was no air con (understandable for the climate) but the fan provided didn’t provide much relief.
The paid hotel parking out the front was full when we arrived but we could park on the street for free between 6pm-8am and there was plenty of spaces free
