Hotel Casa Turire was an elegant treat. The hotel is secluded and surrounded by palms. We loved sitting on our patio and listening to all of the birds. The meals and service were lovely.

I liked: Staff friendliness. Gorgeous green areas. Dining area. Breakfast.
Did not like: few options in menu for dinner and lunch.

This property is marked as a 4 Star Location, but Furniture is old, smell of the room is of wax from the floor and the Bed doesn't have nice quality linens.

We stayed in the master suite and it is beautiful has a nice large balcony where an entire family could sit out and enjoy. The master suite is divided into two floors the only air conditioner is upstairs bedroom turn it on as soon as you get there and close the door to keep the coolness in. The upstairs bedroom is super nice with a huge hot tub. AT first it wouldn’t seal to fill up then when I did get it to seal, it ran out of hot water before you could fill it up. we got in it anyway when we turned it on black mold came out of it so they hadn’t cleaned it. The restaurant is elegant and pretty the wine was amazing and food was either very good or very bad. The black been soup, the chicken, salads the vegetables and the plantain type mashed potatoes were amazing. The Beef tenderloin and the pork tenderloin tasted like they microwaved it and stuck a sauce on it. It was very tough and difficulty to eat. You might say go somewhere else to eat but where you are there’s nowhere else to eat. They had several nature trails which were really nice to walk make sure you take your umbrella because the rain will come and go and you might get caught in a down poor. Overall I would come back, but would not stay in the master suite and would stick to eating what I know was good.

Nice hotel

This hotel is old and has some deferred maintenance, but it also has a lot of character. Janice at the front desk was great organizing birding tours and transportation to our next destination. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. the menu was limited but very good. The hotel can be noisy when there are large groups gathering at night. The grounds are beautiful. Hire a guide for the birding. I strongly recommend Danny.

Very nice rooms and property. Staff was super friendly as well. Beautiful grounds with trails and views of the lake. The best part was the food. 2 very very good dinners. I had the pork and the steak and both were excellent and my wife had the tuna and that was cooked really well also. All in all a great place to stay in the area.

The hotel is located in a nice area but in need of updating. It is not a 150/night hotel. Pricing needs to be adjusted. Showers aren’t updated, hot water takes 10 or minutes, service is ok. The best things are the grounds, which can use maintenance, and the restaurant that is excellent.

The house and the property inspire peace and quite, if this is what you are looking for, this is the correct place to go.

We have stayed before and always try to stay here when we visit the area. Beautiful house and surrounding garden. Helpfull and friendly staff. Awake to the sound of tropical birds and animals. Relaxing place. Shame we only stayed one night.

Nice hotel in many ways. The only thing that wasn’t good was that it was more or less no water in the shower.

This is a gem of a property. We arrived with the hope of a week of rest and relaxation. That is exactly what was provided. The staff was always so friendly and went out of the way to meet any needs we had. The grounds are stunning, the room spacious and cozy, the food amazing, and overall experience, unforgettable. The staff arranged a tour for myself and my husband to the aquiares coffee tour. It ended up being on my birthday, the tour was private and all inclusive. Upon arrival back at casa turire, the staff had prepar3d a special birthday dessert. I will surely be back and recommend casa turire with no hesitation

What an extraordinary location. The photos do not do it justice. It is a piece of paradise. The staff are genuine, warm and lovely. There is a sad lack of ambition permeating the hotel. The restaurant, while the staff are lovely, is inexcusably lazy about its food. Serving the same frozen vegetables on each dish, while charging restaurant prices, while in the middle of Costa Rican farm land is just poor. Still, for the surroundings and stunning building, I can't recommend highly enough.

Casa turire is my second home in Costa Rica! The staff is wonderful and makes you feel like family. The grounds and the feel of the hotel are inviting and make you feel relaxed and at home. The intimacy of the hotel and the personalized service leave you feeling special and cared for!!

The grounds are beautifully kept with plenty of gardens and animals. The staff were welcoming, the rooms were spacious. They do not have air conditioning, only one central overhead fan. The rooms were quite humid on rainy days, but cooled off at night, as sunsets at 6pm. The restaurant service was slow, but the food was delicious. The sugar cane ice cream is made on site and is a MUST for any guest. We even asked for it for breakfast the next day. So amazing and creamy.

Recently I spent one night with my family in Casa Turire. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the place clean and nice. We especially like the gardens and surroundings. The employees working at the farm and vegetable garden showed us the different animals and plants and it was very interesting listening their explanations. The rooms were cozy and with a balcony. The only downside was the intense smell to mold in my room, which made my stay there uncomfortable and made my sleep difficult. The food in the restaurant was good and don Rafa’s service and kindness were outstanding. Casa Turire is the ideal place to relax and spend a peaceful time. I would definitely go back.

The grounds of the hotel are amazing, but the hotel could use a refurbishment. Although everything spotlessly clean, the hotel is becoming worn. Also, there was no water pressure for the shower, and took nearly 10 minutes for warm water. Might be becoming too rustic for some.

Every was amazing! Above our expectations, this hotel will transmit you the real Costa Rican experience.

This was one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed. Could sit outside and watch the ducks at the pond and not get wet from the rain. A great place to unwind and reboot.

Perfect for rafting the Rio Pacuare. Beautiful but remote---make sure you have a 4WD vehicle to get there. Incredibly comfortable and many other activities available besides just rafting excursions. Only critique was that the food looked better than it was.

We're traveling all over coaster Rica. We have just come from the southern coast and stayed here one night on our way to the Caribbean coast. This is the most beautiful place I've ever seen very comfortable clean and friendly people. They also have great food in their restaurant. I would recommend anybody to stay here especially if they're going from one side of the country to the other side. It's a great stop over.

We has a wonderful time at Casa Turire! The hotel was very nice, the furnishings in our room were lovely. The bathroom fixtures weren't modern, but everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable, the meals were hot. You won't find nicer more obliging hotel staff anywhere! I will say, this is the county. If you are looking for 4 star big city hotel, look somewhere else. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, that is full of beauty and life, come here! You will cry when its time to go home!

I think this hotel has seen better days.
The grounds were very nice and the room clean and fairly comfortable. The room lacked drapes (aside from a privacy sheer) so that made the sunrise rather evident when we would have rather slept in.
Dinner at the restaurant was well presented and service was very friendly. Some croquettes on the side of a "tipico" dish were served still frozen inside. The restaurant comped the cost of the meal but this was surprising for what appears to be a fancy restaurant (I would have thought these and many other parts of the meal would have been prepared fresh but many items were from frozen as well). Several other dishes were so-so. Breakfast the next morning was filling with wonderful service but the food was again lacking.

This hotel is one of the most beautiful and charming places i have seen in Costa Rica. It is fashioned in colonial hacienda style with great taste and elegance. The central courtyard is a delight and the service is always provided with a smile. The location is also a plus since it sits within 5 minutes of Turrialba and not far from the Turrialba volcano, the archeology reserve of Guayabo, the jungle and many coffee plantations. I have no doubt that this hotel would satisfy any traveler.
