The first room we were put into had no heat and was 57 degrees. Curtains wouldn’t close, carpet wasn’t vacuumed. Moved to a second room and bathroom toilet dirty and wouldn’t flush in the morning. Sink faucet wasnt cleaned well. Overall felt dingy. Refrigerator made noise through the night and noisy trains through the night. We had a noise app on our phone and still could hear fridge and train. No price listed for dog and they charged $55. Highest ever paid.

It’s was good just a lil dessapointed bevause I got charged a late check in for doing a check in at 10pm when I booked the hotel an hour prior and I wasn’t informed of the $50 fee.

My only complaint was the floor was not clean.
Everything else was great.

Great maintenance staff he brought me a new tv in the box to the , because the tv went out. And the staff assisted in directing me in the area.

The front desk staff were very nice and got us checked in quickly. The room was spacious and met our needs but it smelled like wet dog and stale smoke. The room was a little shabby but served its purpose.

Good night sleep

Wish this hotel would provide breakfast for the price you pay for other hotels. Also please just get an ice machine. You have to go to the front desk to get ice.

There were different staff members daily. Some were polite, some were not trained, and some very rude...managers. The hotel is located next to a train track and the train passes very often with horn sounding. The facilities are not up to date. The laundry room is in the same room as gym. There is no room service!! Unless extended stay and that is once a week. If you want anything fresh, you have to bring your own towels downstairs to replace them!!! And you have to dump your own trash. On our last night, the fire alarm sounded causing people to leave their rooms. I asked the front desk what was happening and it was a water heater issue! We all went back up. We were leaving early the next morning and the fire alarm sounded again at 7am!! I would be upset if I was sleeping in. And it wasn't resolved the night before. The morning staff didn't even know the issue! We won't be staying here again.

Fire alarm went off multiple times overnight.

I booked a double bed. They only had a single bed. I could not request a refund since my money was tied up. I had to sleep in floor. Just had hip surgery and it is really hurting. I request some sort. of refund for the inconvenience

The grout in the shower with stand and dirty, which made me feel like the focus on cleanliness was not very good

It was a great place for a nights stay! Clean rooms and comfortable beds!

Proximity to train tracks not clearly disclosed.
Plain old soap and water and elbow grease to tend to doors, kitchen sinks etc.
Please offer black tea for non-coffee drinkers. Not everyone likes green tea.
Would benefit from a second beside table in the bedroom so a kitchen chair did not need to be used.
Emergency evacuation alarm rang 2 different times - once about 4:15 am, the other about 9:15.
Positive- had pots and pans sufficient for light meal prep.
Unfortunately the cons outweighed the pros so would not stay again.

This hotel needs to be updated or lower the cost

Room was clean and staff were friendly!

I liked the location even though it practically on the rail road tracks the noise was minimal and I enjoyed watching the trains go bye
Not the hotel fault but my last night stay was ruined by someone in the next room that fell asleep with the tv volume WAY too high .
Only one troubling thing was the access door on the North side of the building never locked when someone walked through it.

Paper thin walls. Could hear every word in next room.
Room needs to be renovated.
Outside masonry cracking

I have stayed at this hotel many times, and I keep coming back because it is the best combination of location, condition, and price for my needs in the Colonial Heights area. My only complaints with the location is that all of the rear side rooms face a very busy multi-track freight rail line and that sometimes getting out from the driveway onto the highway can be difficult if traffic is high and I need to turn left.
There is no shopping nearby, and no dining. One needs to drive either cross the interstate or the other direction for about half a mile to find much of anything (except the hotel shares a parking lot with a large gas station & convenience store, so at least some food can be obtained there of needed).
Inside, this hotel is nothing special, just a typical three level modern American hotel. Same kind of general condition and amenities a traveler finds in practically any other decent hotel in the country that is better than a Super 8 etc.
Because this is in the very expensive Colonial Heights area, room prices are higher than what some travelers are used to paying for comparable rooms and facilities.
But also because it is in Colonial Heights, if one has free use of a car, there are malls, lots of restaurants, etc; not more than a short drive away down the interstate.

There are a lot of trains passing very close to this building. It's otherwise a convenient location. Our room was a nice space, but furniture showed a lot of wear and tear and appliances weren't working.

This property was advertised as a 2.5 star hotel but the room had received a "10" on Expedia. At this start level, I had expected to get a dated property with few amenities but scrupulously clean. After all, this was literally a quick stop over to get 7 hours sleep and then to leave, so I didn't need the Hilton. When I drove up, when of the hotel lamps was flashing on the side of the building mildly reminiscent of the "Bates Hotel". When I walked in the Lobby had 5 chairs and there was one guy sitting there talking with his wife loudly on facetime. This property had a bad smell (like disinfectant used over body odor and cigarette smoke). It would explain why they have you sign a "no smoking" agreement. The front desk clerk was a nice guy. Patient. The room I stayed in was not clean. Toilet seat up and looked like it had been used. One of the beds I turned down looked like it had been slept in by the gray sheen on the white sheets. I crawled in the other bed but then noticed what looked like insect bodies in the sheet next to me. I slept in the vinyl covered chair all night. It was a handicapped room, so thank gosh it had a chair that was a recliner were me and the Yorkie slept fitfully because every time someone opened a door, when it shut it slammed. On the way out, I grabbed a cup of the "free" coffee. Even doctored it was the worst! Needless to say, I will never look at IHG hotels the same and certainly won't stay in this one again.

Nothing unique and the 24 hour coffee was definitely a plus!!! I fell in love with the shower pressure, and wished the suitcase foldout table was available.

Our reservation was cancelled before we arrived and without notifying us. We had two adults, a baby, and a dog, and it was incredibly challenging to find another place to stay with what we needed. Hotel management was not helpful or apologetic (though the receptionist was very nice and helped call other hotels in the area).
10.0
Quality of room superior to more expensive national chains in the area.

You'd think the other reviews would mention the train running behind the hotel at all hours of the night.
Room smelled because the hvac unit leaked. The thermostat isn't comnected to anything. Room above me flooded the bathroom and my bathroom floor was soaked when I came back to my room. Had to have my room key reprogrammed 3 times. Room was not serviced once during my 5 night stay. Fitness center is shoehorned into a tiny space and equipment needs maintenance.
Did I mention the train coming barreling by, blaring it's horn during all hours of the night

My family stayed here during a college visit to VSU in April. The hotel is conveniently located off of the highway. Its nothing fancy, but it was clean and quiet. Our room was large and updated. There was a train that went by late at night but didnt bother my family as we are use to trains going by our home. Will definitely be staying here in the future when we visit our son at college.

My room smelt like someone had died in it

The hotel is smelly and unkempt. Furniture was piled up in the lobby near the elevator and a rug set folded in the lobby. The carpet in room 227 is filthy. The hallway smells of weed. .

The hotel was very good for the price but it was located right next to freight train tracks and I was woken up several times during the night by it.

Very clean

Seemed to be more of a long term housing option for a lot of the other guests on our floor. The rooms were updated but the hallways and other parts of the were very outdated which made things seem dirty and dingy. Overall "okay" for just our one night stay.

I did not like this hotel. Roaches and not nice out around the hotel. Our door locked but did not close.
I was worried about falling asleep. Never again for this one!!
Also unexpected pet fee that was not mention prior to arrival
