We upgraded to a suite on arrival and the view was spectacular from the balcony - one of the best views in Positano! The staff were very helpful and friendly! Fab location!

Everything! Immediate first class treatment from first step on property. We were early, room wasn’t ready so they upgraded us to a bigger suite with a terrace bigger than the room and overlooked all of Positano. Staff was attentive and always there for you from housekeeping to bartenders to waiters to the front desk. Buffet breakfast with mimosa and Bloody Mary bar was delicious. Manager, Firenza(?sorry?) answered every question and had our backs the entire stay.
Only that we couldn’t stay longer!

I was bamboozled by the choice of hotels in Positano. it was a special holiday and I was hoping to have the best experience possible for our 2 day visit. I looked at all the high & mid range options. I had, in fact, booked a more expensive hotel when I came across a review for this hotel independently. I’m delighted I chose The Poseidon. This is a no fuss, authentically delightful vintage hotel. It’s not hung up on being overly cool or luxurious, which is refreshing and relaxing. The view from the balcony is amazing. Our room ( we luckily got a last minute upgrade to the Wow room) was gorgeous. The food was delicious, the pool and Tridente restaurant were faultless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. it’s a short stroll down to the water. A winning hotel in my humble opinion.
No major dislikes.

absolutely stunning property and views. everything was perfect the 5 nights we stayed here… staff was amazing, rooms were beautiful, views were incredible and food was delicious! took us less than 10 minutes to walk down to the beach and to shops so locations was also perfect. will recommend this hotel to everyone I know

The view was no short of amazing. My husband and I had a room on the 4th floor and the view was stunning. My kids had rooms on the lowest floor and their view was minimal. This is likely the most expensive, and also the finest hotel that I have stayed in during my life. Red carpets throughout. The staff was very helpful and friendly, offering to book taxis and make dinner recommendations. We also left regular laundry, which was returned to us the next day clean and folded. The price of the laundry service was reasonable. The morning breakfast was wonderful, inclusive of food options, staff, and view. There was an omelet chef and also several options of pastries, fruits, and some already-cooked meat and egg options. The location was up on the hill...one could walk down via stairways located nearby the hotel or via the 'hilly' road that winded down to the beach/restaurant/bar/shop part of town. There were also cafes, restaurants, and shops located on or near the same level as the hotel. We enjoyed the bar drinks. The bartender even offered me a blanket one evening while I was having a cocktail on the terrace. NOTE: if you are severely out of shape, this may not be the spot for you. I am 50, but relatively fit so the stair-climbing was no issue for me (or my family.) However, there are a good amount of stairs and we walked down to the marina area a couple of times per day minimally.
I also loved the hot water and shower pressure; I am not a fan of the lukewarm water or trickle shower.
I cannot think of one negative other than there weren't kid options as the restaurant as I would have preferred. My kids ordered gnocchi, but it was much too gourmet for my teenagers. The other dishes were also fancy, which I suppose is expectant of a luxury hotel restaurant, but I would not book this location for dinner if you have young or picky kids. On the contrary, my kids loved the breakfast options. Overall, I enjoyed the luxury, but it was definitely tough to get the hotel bill...not inexpensive.

An iconic hotel with 5+ star service - highly recommended. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace were such a highlight.
No faults at all - such a memorable stay.

Hotel staff were very well trained, friendly and nice people. We also liked the terrace area for food and drinks , it has outstanding views on the mountain and full Positano
Well, luckily we were staying only one night in this hotel and that’s why it was okay.. but honestly the room they gave us was not acceptable. It was so small and dark that we could not be in there and sleep well. It was looking like a Hobbit grotto. Window goes up and room located lower level than terrace that’s why you feel like in the kave. I would not recommend to stay in there as it was not worth it at all for the price of we paid for that room. If you have other options you better consider them .

Amazing stay at Hotel Poseidon for our honeymoon - we checked in the day after our wedding and had the most amazing stay. The staff were exceptional and the service throughout our stay was top class. We were upgraded to a suite with fantastic views across Positano and also received a lovely welcome bottle of Prosecco. The restaurant was exceptional and one of the best meals we had on the Amalfi coast.

Everything was top notch...attentive service without being at all intrusive, immaculate gardens and patio, and a great breakfast! We hardly left the hotel during our 6 night stay. View from our balcony was so beautiful and the hotel has many areas to linger away.
