Staff and breakfast were great. Room in the main house was spacious but very tired - bathroom especially needs a revamp.
4.4
Nice location and grounds. Quite tired decor. Breakfast was terrible.
4.4
The place is a lovely setting and the staff are very welcoming and friendly

Dirty cups Radiator in bathroom rusty and piping corroded Wall paper peeling away fan in bathroom not working bed and linen old

I had a nosebleed after breakfast and am grateful to staff for being very helpful, especially as I was staying by myself.

A quiet, peaceful, hotel, lovely setting. Pleasant staff, food excellent.

Great hotel

In the summer this hotel must be tremendous but in the dark winter you basically have a room in an annex like a travel lodge - the main building is reasonable but not amazing. The breakfast was okay just don’t ask for honey as they’ll give you treacle. The evening meal was fine but the forresters arms in cumbernorth was amazing. So all good but not outstanding.
4.4
The food options were very limited however, were very nice and the parking area and walking round to reception was not lit at all and I arrived in the dark, so was a poor experience, however, the staff were lovely and service was great.
4.4
Nice property friendly staff, clean
The WIFI was non existence, had paper work to do for work but unable to do it

Beautiful building and grounds. Very tired and smells pretty dirty in the rooms and public areas. Have stayed a few times but that is it now. They also need to be up front about the £10 staff gratuity they add to your bill.
4.4
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming all around. Hotel was generally tired within, really needs some work done on it. Very shabby in many places. Bed and pillows were awful, really uncomfortable. Flies everywhere weirdly. Dinner at bar was poor (fish and chips, colleagues had pasta) . Breakfast was good. Lunchtime meal at training function was good.
4.4
Friendly staff, comfortable stay

Very good break.
4.4
Quiet and spacious.
Relaxed and well-run.

Fantastic location, particularly if you visit with a dog. Staff were excellent throughout our stay. We stayed in the annex, which was comfortable and very quiet. Ample parking and fabulous grounds.
Perhaps consider adding net curtains to the ground floor bedrooms, as guests park right up to the windows.

The staff were all so wonderful to me and my dog on our recent overnighter at the hotel. Dinner was super good quality and we had a lovely little place set aside so I could bring the dog to dinner and breakfast for each meal. The grounds are beautiful and whilst the hotel is a little dated, the staff were magic and the food was really good, too. Thanks again!

The staff were attentive and friendly. There was a good menu or buffet choice for breakfast. We got a good rate through hotels.com. Plenty of parking and a lovely driveway to the hotel. The executive double room had plenty of space and a large bathroom. It was good value for a hotel which could be lovely with some investment. The bedroom is stuck in the 70s with inexpensive brown furniture, and an unreliable mixer tap shower over the bath with shower curtain. The TV has limited choice. In the restaurant, the evening menu is limited and uninspiring and expensive for what it is. There is an unpleasant smell to the public areas. Overall this is a hotel for a night or two if visiting, say, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is a short drive away and you eat out locally.

First time I have used Bagden Hall for business. I was doing some training work. All the equipment we needed was available.
Staff were attentive.
I have visited before for an afternoon tea. Very good too.
Would I recommend,YES

Ok but toilet was not cleaned and when I checked in there was not present surprise swimming in the toilet. Food ok, average.

Absolutely beautiful room we had a suite in the main building, big bed and a lovely seating area too. The staff were lovely and the grounds were fab, only stayed one night wish it had been longer, the breakfast in the morning was great too.

A quick night away with work. A very quaint and traditional hotel slightly off the beaten track. Lovely helpful staff a comfortable room. Good food and service.
4.4
Good base to explore the Yorkshire Sculpture park and Cannon Hall Farm. Staff were friendly and helpful and happy to provide room service dining.
4.4
Hotel was comfortable. Food was good. Having to pay a service charge on every drink at the bar will stop us going back again.

Check in early but room not ready. Returned later with all bags in hand to be told we needed to drive to the lakeside rooms. Would have been nice to know this before unloading the car!

The staff welcomed us with a friendly smile totally professionally

Lovely building & surroundings. Beautiful views. Basic room, just like a Travelodge, which was rather disappointing considering the price. Is a view worth £40?
Reasonable food, lovely waitresses and staff in general.
It took two hours to have three courses. We went in the dining room at 6.50pm and didn't get out until 9pm. My poor six-year-old Granddaughter was so good, as I was losing the will to live. Shame the 'fudgey pear upside-down cake' hadn't seen fudge in its life & someone just shouted "pear" as it went past! The children's sausage, mash & peas should have 'proper' gravy, not jus as it's too salty and concentrated for children's palates.
It was nice as a one-off, but not quite the treat I hoped it would be.

Beautiful looking property in fabulous surroundings

Lovely setting and friendly helpful staff . Decor in bedrooms rather tired and hotel exterior requiring some work . Could be lovely gardens but there was an air of neglect when walking round them. Having said all that we had an enjoyable stay and it was excellent value for money , including breakfast. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Overall it was a lovely place the staff was lovely breakfast was really good the room was very nice, The shower was absolutely excellent, we had a dog and the whole staff made the dog very welcome , we were amazed how dog friendly your hotel was. however we had a meal one night paid extra for the steak which should’ve been an 8 ounce rump, there is absolutely no way that those two steaks started out as 8 ounce we have had many 8 ounce steaks before and they’ve never been that small very disappointed especially for the price we paid. As I said the room was lovely clean and very nice, although the TV didn’t have many stations on it and there was no option to retune it , most of the free view ones were not available, we used the tv both evenings as there was a wedding on both nights and we were restricted where we could go in the hotel , whenever Our neighbors went to the toilet we could hear it, we could also hear them sleeping, The mattress on our bed I think it’s seen better days if you went to near the edge it collapsed and there was a worry of rolling off the bed. Overall we did enjoy our stay even with the few problems that we had.
4.4
property a little tired and needing a refresh
4.4
The hotel was quiet and tucked away, in fact we drove past the entrance to start with. Staff were friendly to welcome us and helped us find our room without asking. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and even with the hot weather was cool. The breakfast the following morning was plentiful full english and again staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again whenever we are visiting the area again without further thought.

A very tired hotel that I’m sure can be great again one day. Beautiful view from within the hotel. The restaurant dining was dreadful but it was so quiet with so few guests that we felt bad for them so we didn’t complain. Meal was terrible, sorry but it was. Young waiter and waitress were lovely and did their very best, another reason we didn’t have the heart to complain about the evening meal. Hopefully, with a facelift and some TLC this hotel can be grand but it’s really not at the moment.

Strange times to stay with all the Covid restrictions but the staff were lovely and very friendly. The organisation of breakfast etc was well thought through and everyone was still smiling even behind the face masks!
Great location, lovely building and grounds, and excellent service.
4.4
Lovely peaceful location. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The Covid arrangements could have been made clearer: ie we were not aware the kitchens were open over the weekend. Bit disappointed by the state of the gardens which were a bit dull. I’ll
