I contacted the land lady, and to be fair to her she got a plumber out to sort it straight away.

It’s handy for going to Lavender international on courses.

The radiator wouldn’t switch off on the first night I was there. Believe me, I tried everything to switch it off. It was hot, the window was small and didn’t let the heat out, so had a poor night’s sleep as a result.

Lovely place would stay again

The room was very clean and comfortable great selection of beers bar staff and customers very friendly

They don’t do food,and there is nowhere to get food without driving you can order food in but on the night I was there it was very limited

Cold room ( but clean) due to no heating which sadly made our visit uncomfortable despite beat efforts of staff

Friendly staff who did everything to help ,lovely fireside ,easy parking,clean room

No heating when we got there & were not warned or offered cancellation. No hot water so could not shower. Pub didn’t open til 4 so could not check on before and check out was at 10 .We were aware no breakfast but didn’t realise no food in tbe evening.Had to buy hot water bottles & bed socks!

A comfortable stay in a lovely area

Location good. Breakfast wasn’t an option but was available nearby.

We were happy with our stay but maybe the availability of a light breakfast on site would have been good.

Overnight stay to attend a nearby family function. Warm welcome, allowed early check in, room clean and comfortable, all for a great price. Great place to stay.

I didn’t stay in all night as the property was closed.

Nothing.

Hi. I arrived at midnight and the property was closed. I knocked all over the doors but nobody respond. I slept in the car someone opened the door at 8:30 in morning then I got chance to get in.

Passable

The room was clean and passable. It was a Saturday night and very very noisy downstairs in the pub. Room was tiny and facing a car park. You enter through the back which is unpleasant. Nice courtryside surrounding. I wouldn't say here again .

Very last minute booking!

We arrived late and left early. The landlady greeted us in a friendly manner and showed us around. Thereafter we didn't see a soul as we left straightaway for a family party, came back and fell into bed, woke up, showered and left. All good!

The rain, but it was the same over the entire country!

the room was comfortable enough

being led to believe we could get a home cooked meal by the web site and reviews . when asked to see menu was told we don’t do food but was handed a takeaway menu . young girl was quiet defensive when asked about website was told everyone knows we don’t do food , our reply was no we did not know they need to change web site did not seem bothered we left next morning

Great budget stay with some niggles.

Great price and great location., it is central for national parks around the area.This place is perfect for the Trans Pennine Trail and Peak District. Bed was comfortable and room was accessbile at back via with easy parking.

Some noise on Saturday evening but it is a pub however more noise possibly as someone mentioned previously that a chiller above is causing the room to vibrate with creaking sounds a lot of time in this room.

Excellent

Clean and comfortable room. Easy access to fields to walk to dog. Free pool on a Tuesday night meant we were entertained. Staff were friendly.

Shame it doesn’t do food but we took a short drive to Penistone and found plenty of options.

Nothing. The whole experience was awful

The staff were hostile, unwelcoming and unhelpful. There was a band playing until very late so it was really loud, impossible to sleep. The room was uncomfortable, cold, dirty and smelly.

Let down by niggles

Easy to find, a good place to visit the Pennines. Friendly staff, very clean, spacious room, good parking.

There is no food available here. The finishing on the room was poor, it had an electronic fan buzzing outside all night and the shower didn't work. Couldn't contact any staff when the bar was closed and telephone no listed was unobtainable.
