I was a bit disappointed when I check in as I paid for full ocean view and the room I got was more of a rooftop view. The manage was happy to offer a full refund. I didnt want to waste my short time in Santa Cruz so kept the room, as they were otherwise fully booked that weekend.
They made it up to me in how well I was treated. Turns out, you might want to keep the windows closed because although the waves crashing on the beach are a lovely sound, the seals howling all night might keep you up.
I loved this place and how I was treated. It needs a bit of updateing but otherwise a lovely stay.

I will never stay here again. To be honest, this was a splurge for my family. Stay at the historic CasaBlanca, right on the boardwalk, the location couldn't be beat! Unfortunately my hotel experience was pretty awful... My partner, myself and 2 kids drove about 6 hours arriving at 5:30pm for check-in. At about 4pm. while on the road I received a text asking when I would be arriving as check-in begins at 4pm. I replied "5:30pm." and I was true to my text. When I arrived at the location, the front desk was closed with a sign that read "Be back at 6:15pm." Very inopportune time to take a break, especially for exhausted travelers. The desk person arrived at 6:30pm. to a line of weary travelers and with zero apologies... Our room was filthy, all our feet were black just from setting up before going to dinner. The location boasts volleyball rentals, yet every time I would stop by the front desk to rent, it was closed... Our car was broken into and ransacked the first night - I assume its well known that there is no actual staff at this location. The second night there was a full blown party above our room with bumping music and loud yelling, again, I can only assume, they knew there is no staff to enforce anything. Save your money and stay literally anywhere else.

Amazing

Love the view our room was right on the street facing the beach. The lady who checked us in was super sweet and inviting. They have little front porches where we had a couple beers at night and had a cup of coffee in the morning
4.2
They did not strictly enforce the quiet hours after 9pm. The common areas are not policed unless people are being unruly and excessively loud. Was surprised the attendant mentioned that I could handle the situation if i would like.
4.2
Very classy place
Free parking was a welcome surprise in these days of post-booking add ons
Dont like the design of the bathroom door but not a deal breaker

The hotel was great! It’s clean and we felt comfortable!

Great view of the beach an wonderful outdoor patios

Perfect location with newer and remodeled rooms. Friendly staff and lovely common area with fire pit for the evenings.

We paid $500 for 1 night, which is insane for a room - labeled as a "family room" but it was right next to the dog area and the cigarette section.
The bathroom was in the "kids" room so once they went to sleep we were not able to get in there since the door to the room isn't hung correctly and it makes a loud noise when opening.
I get the high price being close proximity to the beach but that high price should also include just basic things not being a problem - like the 17 year old they hired to paid who didn't prep anything and paint is all over the tile for example. Things look hastily "upgraded", think house flippers trying to make a quick buck. Seems they slapped a coat of paint on things and said voila, it's beautiful.
Homeless were sleeping on the property at night as well and it doesn't look they (or hardly anyone in SC) cleans the pavement, lots of stains from what is most likely human waste and such. Everything is priced like a luxury experience but you can see that it's just that way to extract as much money as possible while putting the very basic amount of maintenance into things again. Reoccurring problem in America but just sad to see regardless.

The hotel was cute. That was about it. The staff that checked us in was anything but helpful. Nothing was welcoming about the property. All they had were Notes about the rules and how much they would charge you if you broke them. If you’re coming from out of the area and have a question about anything around the area, Google it. That’s the answer I got from the front desk. Too much money for no good reason unhelpful unpleasant staff. Will not return again

This was my second stay at the Casablanca. The location is perfect with the Boardwalk and the beach being just across the street. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and having a room with a private balcony overlooking the beach was amazing.
The staff are all super friendly and helpful.

We stayed on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. It’s pet friendly and BEAUTIFUL!! We will be back!

Huge rooms, quiet at night ( except occasional sea lion greeting) and comfy balcony seating to watch and hear the waves at night. Everything you need except breakfast. Awesome staff, location and views.

When we arrived and we found out where our room was we decided to upgrade to a room with a balcony right above the street. Jada and Cody were very helpful getting us into a room. Only issue with unloading was that there are alot of steps between the parking lot and our room and we had a lot of stuff for the four of us and our dog and we were staying 2 days. We ended up moving the car to Main St and unloading and then moving the car back to the main parking lot. The room was large enough and having the balcony gave us room to move around and sit and we loved the view of the beach. Only negatives were the missing tile in the bathroom and that the lights stay on all night which made me think the sun was rising when it was actually 1am. I understand leaving the lights near the front door but we should be able to turn off the light on the balcony, or at least provide better curtains. The area could use a few more good restaurants. We have travelled to the area before and had always wanted to stay here and are glad we finally did.

Small Rooms but clean check in staff friendly 😀

First inform us, everyone at this hotel was kind and eager to help just not always having the means to help. The location is the best. It’s in the middle of everything. It’s still quiet enough to get rest. It’s perfect. The room left everything to be desired. I’m not sure our room had been clean as there were long hair in the shower and floor. There was no chair in the room and only one bedside lamp. Our coffee maker was broken, and there were no replacements. Mini fridge microwave were great, but no paper towels or such. This place is in a beautiful location, the views have the ability to calm the soul and spirit. I just wish they made a little bit more effort to make this a five star instead of a three-ish at best.

It is a prime location. The property was beautiful and clean. We can’t wait to do it again

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in without a doubt! What makes this amazing is that it's right in front of the boardwalk and the view is incredible. It's also lovely because you get a chance to wake up early (if you'd like) and check out some of the volleyball action going on while sipping on the coffee provided by the hotel. A special shout out to the staff, namely Ellen and Andres, for being welcoming, accommodating, and helping to make this vacation beautiful for the family.

The hotel is small, quiet & very close to wharf & Boardwalk. Could use more detail on the bathroom cleaning and our bed had no top sheet just the comforter which was an uncomfortable feeling.
4.2
This place is not worth $500 a night. The building is nice on the outside, but the inside feels like a cheap flip. The flooring in the bathroom was buckling, presumptively from water damage around the toilet and shower. Smelled musty… The pillows on the beds were square and felt cheap and uncomfortable. There was absolutely nothing hanging on the walls which made the small grey room with one small window feel stark. 2 stars because the linens were otherwise clean and the location is fantastic.
4.2
The construction next door really ruined our morning. We couldn’t sleep and rest. However the staff was nice enough to offer us a late check out with no extra fee. The hotel is located at the best location. A couple of steps to the ocean. I loved it

I was very disappointed I got charged $2000.00 for three days. That is way too much for three days the view wasn’t very good. I found out there was an event that weekend which I did not know about. Charging me $2000.00 is a total rip off. The hotel wasn’t even that nice. I will never recommend the hotel to anyone.

Great location, close to shops and restaurants, the boardwalk. Comfortable room with a great view.

Loved this place. Quiet, cute, close to the beach and boardwalk. I'll definitely stay here again!
4.2
Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, really reasonable prices and close to the beach.
4.2
I was overcharged for my stay. I've emailed about it and not received a response. While staying I asked for new bedding and house keeping never got to it even though I was out of the room all day long. I was given 2 flat sheets to sleep with my final night if my stay. The only great thing about this hotel is its location and close proximity to the beach, warf and Boardwalk. Expedia quoted me $450 per night, they charged me $500 per night. I would not recommend staying here. It is not worth it.
4.2
Room view was of the parking lot. The door was practically in the lobby with constant interruptions and requires the curtains to always be closed or everyone in the lobby could see into bedroom. Continental breakfast was a couple of packaged biscuits and coffee. Way overpriced for lack of privacy and view.
4.2
I paid for a king suite with a private balcony. I was placed in a room with two queen beds on the ground floor. The view was of a construction site. Not to mention the construction started at 7:45am.
The front office was gone by 8:45pm and does not return until 10:30am.
I paid $270 for one night. Yes it was by the coast but I am extremely disappointed.
4.2
Nice location, close to the beach and boardwalk. The room has a nice view, I was surprised that there are no blinds on the windows or doors.. only cheap curtains that don’t block the light very well. The breakfast was a joke.. a few pieces of (not very fresh) fruit and instant oatmeal packets. That was it. Probably will pick somewhere else next time.
4.2
Love that it was pet friendly!
4.2
We were checked in my a very helpful young man when we arrived who helped with luggage and went out of his way to be useful.
Unfortunately that level of service was not consistent as there is a constant rotation of receptionists/front desk team members. There is really no breakfast despite offering a “continental” service each morning and lunch/dinner options are zero in the hotel.
The room, it was very comfortable though not particularly clean. The drains smell terrible and the overall interior could use new paint and replacement box-springs for the beds as ours were filthy.
Check in is 4pm and front desk take an afternoon break so if you arrive early you will need to leave all of your belongings in an unattended parking lot and wait for them to reopen.
We would stay again however we’d be more picky about which room we took and we’d have brought groceries to be prepared when we wanted a snack or a bowl of cereal without having to leave the property.
As far as proximity to SC Beach Boardwalk, you couldn’t ask for a better location and Downtown is only a 15 minute walk away.
4.2
We were happy with our stay and would recommend or come again! I liked the proximity to the wharf and Boardwalk, the views are great! The parking lot is safe and I felt secure at our inn. I loved our private balcony and the bed was super comfortable. Andres was a very helpful front desk clerk too! Thanks for our stay, it was nice to be on the coast to experience the Santa Cruz area.

Much Boisen and we moved to another hotel. But excellent service from the hotel who helped and reimbursed u’s the full Price
4.2
The bed was old & very uncomfortable, pillows where gross & in need of replacement. The property was in need of repairs & the continental breakfast was not good. They need to do some updating. Overpriced for the condition.
4.2
Staff was excellent. The location is ideal, right across the street from the beach. We could watch volleyball games from the very nice shared outdoor seating area. Ocean view was beautiful.

A 2 star hotel in a 5 star location 650 dollars a nite,no phone in the room , the breakfast consisted of bad coffee, stale waffle treats and fruit .The wifi so bad you can't even stream a movie.and a charge of 60 dollars for "misc." .also was overcharged by Expedia by 100 dollars a nite ,talked to them, and hotel management and was told there's " nothing we can do" . Never again !

We chose this property because of the views and we ended up in the back, with zero view.
Looked way nicer than the place immediately next door but if i booked the other place I could have save $200 and had a view of the beach and a hot tub and pool.
Disappointing when your wife wants the ocean view for your 30th wedding anniversary.
The continental breakfast is absolutely a joke.
I’ve stayed at tons of best westerns that blow away this measly offering… literally just coffee and cookies.
If anyone asks me I would not recommend this place especially at over $600 a night.
