Vanira is a perfect retreat for a rustic getaway - no room service, no hand and foot service.
In short- perfect for us! Excellent staff and pristine grounds to enjoy.

Vanira Lodge was a great choice for our last night in French Polynesia after a great trip. It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive from PPT but well worth it. Great restaurant, amazing views from the hill and a gorgeous jungle setting. Each bungalow is one of a kind. If we came back with kids it would work great.

A really great place - a little rustic, but comfortable and beautiful. The restaurant is very good, and the staff is sweet. Be sure to book a cottage with air conditioning - it’s basically rainforest and there are lots mosquitoes. But sitting a private hot tub overlooking the Pacific is divine.

I loved it all. Unique bungalows overlooking the Pacific and Tahiti Nui. Quiet with beautiful flora and fauna. A very special place I hope to return to.

Incredible experience at a true eco-lodge in Teahupo'o
Beautifully constructed cabins with incredible authenticity
Great layout and comfort for a family
Note: cabins are open air, almost treehouses, with no walls or air conditioning
Nice pools, although one was closed
Beautiful restaurant gazebo (also open air)
This location requires a car; there is nothing to walk to

Wonderful views and the whole site on the side of a mountain has Fairy Terns and long tailed Tropic birds flying over. We stayed for seven nights in bungalow Vai Iti - bliss.

A really beautiful area with natural surroundings. The hut is an open air space that is made of natural wood and makes you feel like you a staying in a tree house. The grounds are gorgeous with 2 pools and a volleyball net.

Vanira lodge is wonderful, just as described and shown in photos, if not better. We stayed in Lichee. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was the best we had on both Tahiti and Moorea.

Beautiful property. Yep lots of bugs its like camping but very nice and unique.

We stayed here three nights during our honeymoon and LOVED it! Beautiful views and the property was immaculate. Would definitely go back.

They wouldn’t refund our stay even though we let them know a week ahead of time

Really fun and unique place to stay.

The place is a paradise. Nice and very integrated with the environment. All the staff are kind and the breakfast is awesome.
The only bad thing is internet. My husband needed to send some work emails and it was impossible. The wifi is very weak.

Pro- amazing views, great jungle vibes, open air cabins, two great pools, kitchenette, great for families, great service, and super clean.
Con- don't expect air conditioning, mosquitos (there are bug nets to sleep under), no wifi in cabins but there is at checkin location

We had a magical stay at Vanira Lodge. We loved the jaw-dropping views from out perch. Some members of the family enjoyed the open-air feel of the bungalow more than others, but the pool was amazing and food at the restaurant was delicious.

I loved the hillside bungalow. It was fully open to the gorgeous views over the beautiful garden and out to the ocean. It is such a unique and memorable construction. The restaurant has good reviews but it was not open for suppers on Monday and Tuesday evening when we were there. It was no problem since we enjoyed cooking light meals for ourselves when we were there.

This is a truly eclectic place. Nestled in the side of the mountain with great views over the lagoon, the various buildings are all unique, quirky constructions using local materials. The grounds are luxuriant. Be aware dining options are very limited. On the day we arrived the restaurant was closed and there was nothing else within a 20km drive. You will need a car. Things are very rustic, in keeping with the location - definitely not a luxury option. But in our view, well worth it.

Great architecture, great site. Very cool look and materials. A must see.
Breakfast could be a bit faster (the ladies do their best, maybe it would need a third person to help). Also there is no restaurant available at night in the area. And the lodge’s hotel is closed on monday and Tuesday. So plan it ;-)

A lovely place to stay
Rooms are very nice natural design and quite comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant is excellent. The grounds are lovely. We only spent 1 night because of our return flight but would stay longer next time just to enjoy Vanira Lodge.
If you are going to stay in Teahupo’o this is where I recommend to stay

What an awesome place! Totally unique and isolated....and a view that you'll never forget! Highly recommend! Only warning...some of the rooms don't have Air Conditioning. We booked without realizing that....but turned out to be fine without it.

Exceptional. The view from our room (Ofai) was spectacular. This is a special lodge. The rooms are built into the flank of a mountain. I wish we had another night there.

A hidden gem on the island of Tahiti! This is a wonderful place to stay on the most beautiful side of the island.

Vanira Lodge is an oasis in the rainforest of Tahiti with an incredible view of the bay of Teahupoo. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and were willing to accommodate our needs - like working around our dietary restrictions and letting us store our bags after check out. Take full advantage of the amazing restaurant (open for breakfast and dinner) because there are few other dining options nearby. Check out the hiking trail behind the property, you’ll need to climb up ropes and have good hiking shoes but the sweeping views are worth it!

We were delighted to begin our stay in Tahiti here! Lovely, private bungalows on a hillside with gorgeous views and beautiful foliage throughout the property. It was a special treat to relax in our own hot tub after a day of exploring. We enjoyed the creative meals with local fish & produce. The hostess also offers a challenging, fun yoga class in the gorgeous studio.

This place is pure magic! Recommend renting a car, it is a beautiful drive on the farthest side if the island about 1.5hrs from airport. SO WORTH IT!! Checking in was simple, and the grounds were spectacular including the pools & views.
I stayed at the Vai Iti bungalow and it was gorgeous, private & relaxing beyond your wildest dreams! Bring bug spray, its lush &

Exceeded Expectations. Beautiful property and very private.

The food at this hotel was amazing. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The room/bungalow was really nice. The grounds a property was really pretty and well kept. Just make sure you rent a car instead of taking a cab to it.

Fantastic lodge with an amazing view on Tahiti Island and on the lagoon. Staff was adorable, food was absolutely great (incredible sauté de boeuf) kids loved the original pool and most of all the bungalows are beautiful, half outdoor, Polynesian style with local and natural materials. Just what we love!

It was very relaxing and everything was based on your own pace - very authentic and not commercialised.

This is located on the hill facing the Tehupoo bay. Location is gorgeous, lots of flowers, trees to look at. There is a small pool and a restaurant onsite. Beware it's fairly isolated there's and you will need to drive to get to the nearest store.
Our room(the cheapest on the property I think) was humid and there are lots of mosquitoes around.
They offer excellent excursions by boat, don't miss out on these.

This was a large bungalow with kitchen and livingroom, all of high standard. It is partly open to the nature and situated high on the hill overlooking the ocean (from a distance).. Everything was great, including delicious food in the 8n-house restaurant. Highly recommended.

We wanted to stay in Teahapoo so my husband could surf everyday. We felt completely lucky to have found this gem. Located well above the ocean, but with incredible views, the environment is absolutely beautiful. We were thrilled to find that Vanira Lodge provides a well maintained trail complete with ropes for steadying oneself along the way in the jungle/rainforest above their facilities. The round trip hike took about 45 minutes. The views at the top are amazing. We also took part in the free yoga class that they provide in a beautiful and serene setting with open views of nature on two sides of the room. Our bungalow was adorable. Super quaint, one in a million experience. Look, this is not a luxury hotel. But it is absolutely breathtaking, unique and made for the adventurer that appreciates nature. We highly recommend it!!

Full disclosure: we had a truly excellent and very memorable stay at Vanira Lodge! But then we had a pretty good idea what to expect when we booked it. While this is an absolutely charming property, with stunning views and world class staff, it is also very quiet, pretty isolated and somewhat limited in it's amenities. The lodge is up a steep (and not very well maintained) drive-way, off a quiet road, and only has a small restaurant. The bungalows are really wonderful, clean and tidy and comfortable, if pretty basic, and, though the new pool will be an added bonus, it's a long way down to the ocean. The nearest town - which has an excellent store, pharmacy / clinic and gas stations etc. - is about a half hour drive away. There are a few restaurants there that we very much enjoyed, but no "night life" as such. If you plan to drive to Papeette it's about 1.5 hours during the day, and we recommend leaving *at least* 2 hours at any time close to rush hour!! The reefs are truly excellent for swimming and snorkeling, but there are no real beaches nearby - other than with coarse volcanic sand. While world famous as a surf venue, in our opinion it is really "experts only" with a very nasty reef break and quite a long way out, and we could not find any decent boogie boarding sites anywhere on the island. Finally note that there is a rainy / hot season and a cooler / dry season. We were there in the rainy season, which was gorgeous for swimming, but also *very* rainy on a few days!

Vanira lodge is beautiful. Everyone was extremely friendly. We stayed at the Here bungalow and it was amazing with an outdoor bathroom, shower and jacuzzi. The rooms were nice and air conditioned. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast in the morning was very good. If you drink a lot of water make sure you stop at the store and get some before you go up to the lodge. You can't drink the tap water, but they do provide some water in the fridge. We loved our stay and cant wait to go back.

Private hiking trail, magnificent views, friendly staff. The mosquitos are HUGE though so be prepared to protect yourself.

What a beautiful bungalow with custom woodwork throughout. It felt like we were sleeping in our own treehouse. Gorgeous, unobstructed view of the ocean! Afternoons got a bit hot since there's no AC in the bungalow but we cooled off with a dip in the pool. Highly recommend this beautiful property!

Great gardens and views, along with awesome units with private jacuzzis and unique building designs

This is a rustic property, with open access to mosquitos. We forgot to take our insect repellent and the coils are good enough to prevent these insects from coming in.
