Tangara Azul is a little gem, lovely accommodation with lots of living space and a kitchen, nice pool and grounds, easy 15 min drive to Uvita, much better value than staying there. Also has the citrus restaurant and a deli on site.

I liked the premises but the cabins were a little disjointed. The upper bedroom was only accessable via a steep set of stairs and as an older person this was challenging. The lower portion was open-air and not air conditioned. Nice and clean and great location

The night of our stayed suffer from a long power outage, that is beyond the hotel's control but seems typical of the area. Also there was a bridge in bad conditions that as hard to see and could potentially prompt an accident.

Posh! Well designed and decorated cabin with natural landscaped views but close to everything (beaches, attractions, amenities). Wonderful food at the on-site restaurant. We had a nice rear porch with a Jacuzzi. It's a shame there's a pickleball court next door; otherwise you'd believe you're in the middle of the jungle.

We stumbled upon this place when our VRBO host cancelled on our reservation merely a day before our check in. But boy are we glad.
The place is tucked away about 10-15min from Uvita, so it's quieter. The location is not far from the main road, but once you're in the complex it feels like you're in a secluded place. They did well with the place. Each cabin is surrounded by greeneries so you don't see your "neighbors". The cabin itself is very nice and comfortable. I was actually down with stomach bug while we were there and it was a nice place to be sick in. The pool is very nice, and although we didn't try the restaurant, I enjoy having the small plaza in the complex (they have pharmacy, restaurant, small convenient store..). They also provide laundry service. Service is top notch.
Highly recommend.

Our stay was simply amazing, the property felt like home and we would have liked to stay longer!

The staff are friendly at the hotel and the adjoining restaurant. I recommend when staying in Ojochal.

I’ve stayed a Tangara Azul earlier this year, that’s why I chose to stay there again. The staff and location are great. I actually will be staying there again before I leave Costa Rica. I highly recommend it!

Booked the bungalow for a night while driving through and wished we had more time to stay another night. The property is beautiful, bungalow was half open air where we could relax and listen to the birds and rain, and there is a great restaurant and beer bar on site. Great location within Ojochal for walking to beach or to a restaurant.

The bungalows are beautiful, with friendly staff, and on a good location (car is required in costa rica).
The lady at the reception was very helpful with some bookings for tours, but we found the same tours cheaper at other places.
The employees could be a bit more proactive and open the windows of our bungalow for fresh air, as it was a bit smelly when we checked in, probably due to it being not rented for a while as we visited on the off season. The toilet is downstairs and the bedroom is upstairs, a bit impractical. Includes cooking facilities and refrigerator.

Cool little town, easy to miss off the freeway, and if you find it, easy to miss the hotel. But once you do it's all bliss. Not walking distance to a beach, my only sadness. Beautiful single dwellings, open living and kitchen areas. Bathroom shower water temp made no sense, could be hot or cold at any time. Early morning rush hour very loud freeway noise heard from my porch/living room; didn't like that. Otherwise nice and quiet. I recommend.

We have stayed here several times for quick trips to the area. Great location for Ojochal. Clean and friendly service.

I like that is is surrounded by nature, yet close to grocery store and restaurants

When we booked, we had to pre-pay with no refunds. There are reasons for not refunding!
When trying to find the hotel, we miised it twice as we just couldn’t believe that we would need to stay on a worksite. There is a major construction going and it looks like that this will last way into 2019. We have not been informed about that at all. We would have canceled if we knew. It was very loud and unpleasant. We went in but nobody showed up. Nobody at reception, no staff at all.
Believe it or not, but the experience was so bad, that we left and never checked in. We would have never been able to relax. Unfortunately, WE HAVE LOST OUR MONEY!
It might be nice, when they are done, but with the staff not showing up, they seem to have other problems, too.

The cabins were perfect! All the busy living is done on the first floor. Both beds are upstairs for quiet and relaxation. The open deck was so refreshing and peaceful, hearing the sounds of the rain and river were awesome! Pull the curtains back and you see the jungle beauty and feel the gentle movement of the breeze. The receptionist checked on us often to see if we needed anything. Paradise at its best!

I had a hick up by getting lost in the mountains when i was driving from the airport to the hotel. Staff helped me out by talking to locals ( since i do not speak Spanish) so they guided me back to the main road. They also stayed longer after they close reception to accommodate me. I got first hand a taste of hospitality and kindness in my first trip to Costa Rica. Sofia the concierge also came up to me in the morning making sure everything is ol. First class personal care.
Hotel is in a beautiful spot and has 5 or 6 cottages with an outdoor pool. Kitchen and bathroom downstairs and bedroom upstairs. Everything clean and tidy. It is 5 minute drive to a gorgeous beach, Ventana.

They have quaint little cabins, the a/c works great, wifi is ok, and the pool is nice and clean. The only thing, is tight parking. Overall its a very nice place, and a nice staff

What a nice place to stay. Beautiful place. So private. Beautiful grounds on the facility. Nice swimming pool. Each place has its own kitchen area stocked with the bedrooms above. We actually canceled other activities we planned and decided to stay at the hotel, and that’s something we never do. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

The hotel is adorable. The bedroom is super cozy and cute and very comfortable. The outdoor kitchen/sitting area on the first floor is also cute but did attract bugs with the lights on at night. Also the bathroom is on the first floor which means if you have to use it in the middle of the night you have to walk down the narrow staircase in the dark. But still overall very happy we found this place.

Wow, super neat place! Though not next to the ocean, you are very close the the setting will blow you away. I wish I could stay here again soon!

This hotel was great! I didn't realize they were individual cabins when I booked. They looked brand new! Super clean, and very cute. Kitchen and bathroom in main floor, with a dining room/porch open to air. Then upstairs was the bedroom. Awesome place :)
