The casita is a tidy independent unit within the main residence. Nice location on a high spot at the edge of Rio Rancho with open desert to the west and terrific views of the Sandias to the east. Despite the remote-feeling setting, it’s convenient to major arteries into Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Bernie and Mike are excellent, friendly hosts and good communicators. The casita had everything we needed to enjoy our 4-night stay, including a well-appointed kitchen. Would be glad to pay a return visit!

This was our second time at this property. It is located exactly where we need it. It is a very nice and cozy (great for two people, but not much more) with very attentive owners who live in an attached but completely separate house. The place feels like it is off the path a bit as it is on a dirt road, with great views to the valley, the mountains and the desert, but is very near to just about everything in Rio Rancho. We will be staying here again

I was only at the property for a couple of nights while in town but really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable and the views were amazing! Thank you Mike and Bernie for your hospitality!

I had a wonderful stay at the Casita. The apartment was very comfortable with a lovely patio out back for a morning coffee. It was far enough off the main drag to be very quiet, yet conveniently close to restaurants, store, and any activities in the area. Mike and Bernie were wonderful hosts. They live on the property and were very available for any questions or assistance I needed, but provided complete privacy otherwise. I would highly recommend the Casita.

Loved meeting & talking with Mike & Bernie— very warm & gracious hosts who went above and during my stay!
The Casita had everything I needed; a highlight was the very comfortable bed for good rest and the location out in the desert.
Very clean home, nice touches of artwork, water & snacks provided, charming architecture…highly recommend!

I think this casita is a 5 out of 5! I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again in the future. Briefly met the owners, they are wonderful. They checked on us when we were coming in and they were headed out. They made sure we knew if we needed anything we could just ask them.

Just north of Albuquerque, the casita was well appointed, quiet, and relaxing with easy access to surrounding neighborhoods - Nob Hill, Sandia Heights, and North Valley.
Mike and Bernie are very kind and thoughtful hosts, which we appreciated.
The location requires a rental car as it’s outside the city but 15 minutes to most local hiking trails, parks, restaurants, and oddities, like the Spaceship UFO house.

The property was a 1 bedroom separate apartment with helpful and attentive property owners living next door. Easy to get to, with a gated driveway. Thanks for a great stay.

My friend and I went to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque and rented this 1 bedroom casita. The casita is adjacent to the owners home, doorways are just steps apart. Owners were so accommodating to anything we needed but also gave us complete privacy. The casita is in a newer subdivision so it is actually secluded and very quiet. Security gates and the owners being on site made us feel very safe. The casita has one queen bed that is super comfortable and a very large and comfy leather sofa. Complete kitchen with anything you need. The casita is at a higher elevation than town and the views are spectacular. Would definitely recommend this to single travelers or couples. Would make the perfect set up for traveling nurse, etc.

We stayed two nights and found the Casita to be as advertised. It is a great place for a couple to stay. Everything was clean and in working order. The owners live next door as the Casita and main house are part of the same building. They were very nice and easy to work with. For those looking for a pretty place just barely off the main path in Rio Rancho yet close to much of it, this is a great place. It should be noted that the home is doing landscaping work (Oct 2023) where the current look is mostly natural desert. The views of the Albuquerque valley is exceptional, especially at night.

The one bedroom Apartment it self was very nice, had everything you needed, although no cable, only antenna for the TV was a hassle trying to figure out the TV...the property had center blocks in front by the front gate...When we arrived on our check in date, noone was available to let us in, I had to use the Ring door bell Twice to finally get Someone to answer which was Brandon, so Brandon Called, he thought we were not booked for that day we got their,, we had booked for 2 days, had some confusion on the booking. Other than that everything else was great.

You know that feeling you get when you come home and everything just feels right? That’s the feeling you get staying at Mike & Bernie’s listing. My husband and I have been using vacation rentals since 2017, and this is by far the nicest place we have stayed. The bed was a 10 out of 10. We will DEFINITELY be staying again when we are in the area!

Wonderful peaceful stay at this high desert property that provides all amenities, including a welcomed washer/dryer, very comfortable bedding and fully appointed kitchen. One morning we awoke to balloons lifting off from an adjacent property!

The casita was immaculate and well- stocked with everything we could want. Our hosts were attentive, helpful, and never intrusive,. We found the unpaved road a bit of a challenge and we felt it was a bit remote.
