Good value for price. Located near Mamitas Beach Club and 5the Avenue. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast was included and buffet style or in restaurant. There is a rooftop bar. Pool also on rooftop was small, not lap poo. Gym was basic and a little under par. Over all liked our stay.

Pros:
Location is ideal. Room is very clean. Very confortable bed; not too soft not too hard.
Mexican restaurant is very good. The drinks (in the all inclusive option) are very good at the Mexican restaurant. It was relatively quiet in the streets in this area. Italian restaurant is average. Wine included in the all inclusive option is average.
Cons:
The rooftop is very underwhelming. There is 11 sun loungers by the pool. Eleven…for a hotel with 150+ rooms. They put some tables and stool chairs instead of sun loungers. Very uncomfortable. There are so many VIP sun beds that you can’t use… Pool is cold. Alcohol served is not good quality and I couldn’t get a margarita that doesn’t taste like syrup. Rooftop is a real disappointment.

Great hotel in the heart of Playa!

Overall it's a good bang for the price. But have to warn those looking for a quiet getaway.
Pros: Price, comfort, cleanliness, great staff, location (1 block from beach), restaurants/bars, walking distance to nightlife/restaurants on Quinta Ave. No car rental needed. Tours/Excursion desk in lobby with transportation provided. Pharmacy/drug store & 7Eleven located right outside the entrance. Great breakfast buffet.
Cons: No room service & no to-go box or carry out from restaurants in hotel. You must dine in. Rooftop closes/music shuts off @11pm. Pool needs renovation. View of the ocean is mainly from the rooftop deck. Rooms have a view of surrounding abandoned/closed buildings with damages caused by the hurricane.
Warning: On the side and front streets there are bars that are opened til 3am nightly with loud music/karaoke. Didn't bother us as we're from a party city and enjoy the nightlife but for those looking for peace and tranquil, this hotel is noisy. The hotel's center is open so the inside noise comes from the ground floor's restaurant/bar.

Excellent place close to the airport and have the shutter bus

We loved the Reef 28. The place is clean, comfortable, amazing vibe, the staff is great, food was really good (we did all inclusive). Easy walk to La Quinta, shopping, restaurants and night life, safe area. The only downside was a bar around the corner, you can hear the loud music and karaoke, none of this to the hotel fault. My fiancé can sleep through anything and I use earplugs so we didn't care much, but if you are a light sleeper this may be uncomfortable.

This resort would be amazing if I were looking to party. Its a great resort, but it has some serious drawbacks. PROS - 1. The food is AMAZING. It is far and away the best food I've had at an all-inclusive. I can't overstate how good it is. 2. Staff, everyone is extremely nice and not bothered to help. 3. The hotel is very clean. CONS - 1. Noise. The outside is a nonstop party. If you are looking to unwind, you won't find it here. 2. The pool, it is small with limited space and the music by the pool is incredibly loud. Again, you can't relax by the pool. It also gets filthy quickly because of how small it is. 3. The area, its a tourist trap and everyone is trying to sell you something. 4. the time share, we were bothered a few times about their sister hotels and taking advantage of some offer, I never listened to it, but they kept trying to get us. OVERALL - Its a great hotel, the food is incredible, it really is amazing! the place is clean and the staff is great, but you can't relax here. If you are looking to party, you found the right place. If you want to chill, look elsewhere.

Everything was perfect! The staff is so friendly and the rooms are big and very neat. We would’ve love to have more activities or parties planned on the roof top!

For the price point, this place is superb!! It would be difficult to find an all inclusive, two bedroom suite with in room Jacuzzi and access to two sister resorts for this price. Staff is excellent. Food is presented exceptionally, however they clearly use cheap quality products so the taste is not as refined as expected. Definitely pay the 300 MXN for two hours in the spa. It's well worth it.

Not the same as it was a few years ago, the sister resorts were free to access, and now charge a fee to enter. Room was only cleaned once on a 3 night stay, other than that, everything else was good. I'd probably find else where to stay next time.

I reallyyyyy enjoyed the Suite. They upgraded me OMGGGG!!! I was truly flattered and shocked. I’ll never stay in a regular room again lol. It was like an apartment. The location is perfect for food, shopping and the beach. The food was “meh” but the service and kindness of staff MORE than made up for that. The bass music on the roof is loud but not intolerable. I already told my family that this property is a 10/10 luxury experience. I would most definitely recommend Reef 28 AND stay here and ONLY here when I come back. Thank you.

The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, and the staff was kind. While my stay wasn't exceptional, it wasn't a bad experience either. The location was fantastic, with many shopping options, restaurants, bars, and convenience stores nearby. Our room was nice, and housekeeping cleaned every day, which has become rare since COVID. The rooftop offered a beautiful view, and I loved that the pool was heated at night.
However, there were several downsides. The lobby and elevators were uncomfortably hot, and the hotel really needs to address this. Although our room was nice, it faced an old grass wall, and the bed pillows were extremely hard. The food quality was lacking, except for the Asian restaurant. The all-inclusive system was inconvenient, requiring us to sit down and order each dish, which took a long time. They only offered one buffet-style meal (breakfast), which I found odd. There were no vegan options and absolutely no options for guests who don't eat pork, so my husband struggled with that all week. Additionally, there was no room service, which was disappointing, and I often felt unsatisfied. Every drink I ordered was not good, and many bartenders did not fully understand English, so I had to go elsewhere for a drink, which was a bummer. While the rooftop was nice, it only had one pool and two warm jacuzzis, leading to overcrowding.
Overall, there were some positive aspects of the stay, but several areas need improvements. I would only stay here again if improved.

This is hotel is phenomenal! The food is excellent and fresh! We changed room on the second night and they gave us a bottle of wine, desert and put flowers on the bed! Great experience and customer service! The servers Ivan and Franscisco made our vacation !!!

No hospitality. Canceled our reservation even though we reached out to let them know our arrival time. Expedia and hotel let us down scrambling for somewhere to stay after being involved with IT outage. Horrible experience that ruined my birthday!

Staff was SUPER friendly and attentive very different from their other resort in Playacar, we spent a day there and couldn’t get out of there fast enough! Overall very nice facility, however, I believe our room was directly over the waste facility and the stench was trapped in our room. Smell was a bit unbearable, I had to brew coffee to help! The pool is very small and open to the public so don’t count on having much time in the pool. Space is already limited as is. And no room service which was kind of a bummer to always have to go down for drinks and an appetizer. Sometimes you’re just not in a sit down meal mood. Overall it was a good experience.

We absolutely loved the property, staff is amazing, clean facilities, room was outstanding, and the rooftop was the best part.
Only complaint was the food for breakfast, and it took forever to receive your food at the restaurants (over an hour).

Excellent hotel. The only thing is the lady at the breakfast restaurant. Her attitude is discriminatory. When I arrive to the restaurant, she was like “Your breakfast is not included” with attitude voices. I told her, no worries, I’ll pay for that. Her face was very disappointed!

This was our second time at The Reef 28, and we loved it! It’s a very different type of all inclusive, but has wonderful food and service. It’s nice to be able to order from a menu instead of a buffet that’s been picked over. The hotel is very clean.
