The hotel is a little dated the staff were friendly and helpful.
When I came to check out reception was closed and is every morning, so getting a receipt even after messaging was impossible.
Good parking.
Not sure I would stay again.

Good but shower head was very dirty and in need of a clean.

Great location with good pubs and restuarants nearby. 15 to 20 min walk into central Cambridge. Great breakfast, rooms comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Needs ablitle bit of updating but it was clean and good space. We would stay again

Breakfast staff were absolutely amazing, worth the stay!
Hotel was an Victorian experience!

We got there a little before 3 PM. There was NO reception. The whole thing was closed. We were lucky the nice maids helped us get our luggage in and let us use the restrooms.
Management is TERRIBLE. Maids who also do the breakfast service were VERY helpful through all our stay. Breakfast was ok. Heating was terrible. It was 15 degrees outside and we barely got heating. Wifi was sketchy. We had to change rooms. We ended up in a room with just a tub. No shower.

Staff was so nice especially breakfast ladies! Thanks for your charger socketšš

Room a bit dated, however all clean and comfortable . This is a sister hotel to the Arundel 10 mins walk up the road. The reception has limited opening times but this wasnāt a problem as the staff at the Arundel were very accommodating especially as I was early for check in. All in all good.

The only thing that saved it from 1 star was friendly team of housekeepers who did what they could and a good breakfast.
The hotel is owned and managed by Arundel house down the road and is due to be redeveloped and it shows . Highlights include being put in the top floor and being refused a move when we had a baby despite there being ground floor rooms available, a TV that didn't get signal for the majority of the channels, the overhead shower didn't work because of low water pressure, a management team that is only on premise 1pm-9pm in theory but they closed the reception early when I went to use them, a refusal for change the mugs in our room for clean ones during a 3 night stay. And pre check-in the reception team don't respond to messages in that hotel.com app (except from an attempt to charge 18gbp a day for parking when it's listed as free)

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, great breakfast, great location walkable to get to river and city centre. Clean room, nice comfy bed and quiet location. The hotel itself could benefit from a little refurbishment but it didnāt affect our stay.

Comfortable room. It was on the top floor and it was a lot of stairs. Beds and room was comfy. Bathroom plumbing was useless flushing required several goes.
Breakfast was great.
Parking convenient staff nice and friendly and the location walking distance to most things.
We will stay there again but on a lower floor not the top floor š

The downstairs reception and breakfast room were upsated and very clean. Unfortunately the room i stayed in, although very comfortable was in need of updating. There was a sign showing plans for a new hotel on the site as the current building is very old. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

There was no front desk reception at the Ashley Inn and we did not receive and email with instructions where to collect our keys until the next morning. Fortunately, there was a speaker system, but it was terribly difficult to understand due to the static.
The beds were acceptable and the space was adequate. Unfortunately, the toilet did not flush properly so we had to pour water into the bowl and force a flush.
The breakfast was quite nice and the staff serving were lovely.

Limited registration hours although you can communicate with its sister hotel Arundel House through the doorbell. No concierge, no baggage storage; no lifts and narrow stairways. It looks like it is being updated, but room 4 was dated (although furnishings in good condition) and clean (but the tiny shower stall needs a deep cleaning). Free parking, although Iām not sure if there is enough for everyone if the house is full. Like any old house, lots of creaking sounds from other guests. Great location for walking through Cambridge - close to several nice pubs. Breakfast was outstanding with great service from the staff - pretty much a fully cooked hot English breakfast plus extras like yogurt.

Old, dirty bath, loud - all neighbours, the entrance
fresh air for bath is sounding like a tractor
Old dirty furniture
All us nit up to date, at least 40 yesrs old
Hair dryer is ridiculous, only working gor a minute or two

Non working shower, unhelpful staff except for a couple, tv on wall at side of bed, dated decor, unable to speak to manager very run down accommodation

The double room had plenty of drawers and a wardrobe. It was spacious. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was full English with plenty of options.
The only down side was the shower could have done with an upgrade.

money was taken from my credit card and the hotel did not give me a room although I had a valid confirmation.
No refund and no sign of compensation. One of the most horrible experiences I have ever had.
I am surprised this can still happen in 2024.

This hotel should unlisted from Expedia, the hotel smell bad, the bed was terrible, no shower in the room.
4.0 / 10.0
The hotel is in a good location, easy walk into Cambridge. Good parking. We were in room 3 and yes, you can hear the front door closing so maybe a quiet closing mechanism on the door would be useful but also other guests being considerate if coming in late at night/early morning would be nice! The room needed a little updating and a hoover and maybe soundproofing but we slept well. Breakfast was good, the staff were lovely. We were asked at breakfast if we wanted our room serviced as it stated in the room that due to staff shortages this couldnāt be guaranteed.
A planned extension is advertised outside the hotel, hopefully theyāll have more staff if this goes ahead to have a full time reception and cleaning team.

Was ideal for short stay in Cambridge. Booked for graduation stay. Had to collect key from another hotel which was a drive away so not very convenient.
Room was very hot no air conditioning or fan and noisy road if windows opened.
Good to have separate toilet and bathroom in our family room. Good car parking. Difficult to navigate once inside. Great breakfast.

No problems lovely stay

We were placed in room 3 which is upstairs near the door. It was not dusted and all surfaces were dirty including the kitchen phone, the tea sets and the bathroom sink. The room is very noisy as people go in and out of the hotel slamming the front door and speaking loudly even at 2am. The positives are the parking and the location near the park and walking into town. If thereās a way of asking for a refund, we would have.. A relaxing weekend away was ruined for us!

1 No reception 24hrs so limited support provided
2. Due to pt.1, service was not good. Missing face aand bath towels. When called their reception (which is in the other Group hotel nearby), the support staff refuse to provide it in the evening time. Jad to wait till next morning for it.
3.Breakfast was with good options
and good breakfast staff.
4.Room 4 is not well planned, TV on the side wall not opposite to the bed.
5 They too refundable deposit but never explained the purpose of it..bit weired for good hotels to do it.

Really good location to walk into city centre. Really clean, great cooked breakfast, parking.

Check in went smoothly with a lovely Iranian lady, she was very kind and helpful!
The double room we were given was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities, and it overlooked the river and park, the room was warm and everything was clean, the bed was comfy, so no complaints about the room at all.
All staff was lovely, polite and helpful!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Arundel House Hotel and will no doubt be returning!!!

The hotel is perfectly serviceable, but there is little that is modern or special (and this is reflected in the price). Reception and breakfast staff were lovely, but reception is only open between 3 and 9pm. Soundproofing between rooms is poor. It's a lovely walk along the river into the centre of the city.

Good value for money, good breakfast, excellent location for walking on to city shops.
Staff very friendly.
5.0 / 10.0
The ladies serving breakfast were lovely and friendly.
The beds were very comfortable and the room well kept.
The hotel is in a good position for walking into the city centre and has good parking.
A choice of tea and coffee instead of a ready made pot for breakfast would have been better, but this is a minor issue.
Meals at the pub across the road are good.

The room itself was comfortable and spacious, all amenities present, the breakfast staff welcoming. But, a school group was present in the hotel and staying above us. They had very loud gatherings in the room above both nights until late, and as such sleep was evasive. At one point I had to go to the room and ask them to stop because there was no receptionist to ask for assistance at this hour.

Stayed 5 nights and made to feel at home by the 3 ladies who looked after us. Had a large room with a bay window overlooking gardens which was great. Perfect spot 20 minute walk through parks from Cambridge city centre

smelt of mothballs
walls had damp stains
8.0 / 10.0
The room was good and has everything you need for a short stay, if maybe a bit dated. One challenge is that I could hear every footstep from the room above. The room was tidy but things such as the cups and kettle had dust on them and there was some hair left for me in the shower. One thing I will say was that the staff at breakfast were great and couldn't do enough for you. Overall, a good short stop in Cambridge.

Staff friendly.. on-suite a bit cosy, needed some tlc.. didn't feel I could use the shower ( a bit grubby).. other than that the rest was ok.. breakfast was good.
We could hear people coming in at night, and in the rooms either side and above..

The staff were great, the rooms were clean. Not a modern hotel but a comfortable hotel, we would stay again

It's nice and quiet. Beautiful breakfast room, both setting and taste.

Good location with many nice restaurants and bars within a short walk....but there was no noise from any of these
Ample Parking is also a great bonus.
We enjoyed a cooked breakfast to start our day off which was very nice

Ashley hotel looks a little tired and dated. But the hotel is clean with comfy beds.
Friendly staff too.
And the English Breakfast is excellent.

Clean. Good Breakfast. Ample parking. Good value for money. Good for links to city center.
Internal and external sound proofing could be better.
