There is a general store/ gas station 1.7 km down the road to the east. They stock most basic necessities, a few groceries, and also have a liquor store. They have both regular gas and diesel. They also serve ice cream. There is a bait and tackle shop beside it as well as a seasonal take out place.
Ross Farm Museum is just over 20 mins away. They are open year round and offer a glimpse into the way of life back in the 1800’s. They have farm animals and horse drawn carriage rides.
Sherwood Golf & Country Club is 20 mins away. There are 18 holes and you can rent carts and golf clubs.
Bent Nail Winery is 15 mins away. They have pizza, pasta and appetizers and make their own wine and beer on site.
Oulton's Meats is 20 mins away. They sell fresh meat from their farm. They can do just about any cut or type of meat you desire. They also have a free agri-zoo that you can tour which has many domestic and exotic animals.
You will need you own car to get around. There are no public transportation or taxi services nearby.
Absolutely no parties or events. This is a beautiful, quiet part of the world, so please be respectful towards the neighbors and keep the noise down, especially between 10 pm and 7 am. There are noise monitors inside and outside (these record noise levels, not dialogue) as well as a security camera overlooking the driveway.
This is a smoke-free home. Please do not smoke or vape in the house, hot tub, decks, or on the outside furniture. If you smoke or vape outside, please clean up after yourself and make sure all butts etc. are fully extinguished before disposal. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Firewood is not included but is available for purchase the store nearby. Do not take wood from neighbouring properties. My neighbours have cameras installed to monitor their properties.
Before the firepit is used, the burn restrictions must be checked. No fires are allowed before 2pm on any day.
No extra guests without prior consent from host.
All adults staying at the property must read the house rules and manual prior to their stay.
It is essential that all waste is sorted, bagged and disposed in the proper location. There is camera surveillance of the garbage disposal area to ensure it is done correctly. Detailed instructions are given and must be adhered to to avoid wildlife getting into the bags and to avoid rejection by the waste management company.
Since the property is on a septic system, please be mindful of what you put down the drains and toilets. Generally speaking, only stuff that comes out of you and toilet paper is safe to flush (do not dispose of any hazardous chemicals, plastics or wet wipes as they will either clog or mess with the chemistry of the system). Also make sure that any toilet paper you have is septic safe (usually labelled on the package). Failure to do so could result in a backup of sewage into the house.
Do not use the wash clothes to remove makeup or mascara. Use disposable pads for this and please dispose of these in the garbage.
Please remove shoes upon entering.
Pets are allowed for a fee of $50 per stay. Guests are responsible for keeping their pets under control at all times and to clean up after them. When you bring your pet along I kindly ask that you adhere to a few simple rules during your visit. This way, I can continue to operate as a pet-friendly retreat in the future.
1)Please keep your pets off the furniture at all times, so that other visitors coming after you won’t have to contend with potential pet odors. If, however, your pet insists on hopping up, please make sure you cover all bedding and furniture with blankets and sheets brought from home.
2)Pets must be under the care and control of their owners at all times. Per the Falls Lake Resort bylaws all pets must be on leash when outdoors.
3)Pets must not be left alone inside the cottage for extended periods.
4)Per Falls Lake Resort bylaws you must keep your pet from barking or making noise incessantly.
5)Please clean up after your pets.
6)All pets must be up-to-date with all necessary shots, flea, and tick treatments.

My sister and I planned a stay near a lake to master our new paddle boards. We were not disappointed with this property! Well appointed, lots of towels, BIG coffee mugs, everything was nice. There was no cheaping out on anything here. The screened in porch was great for watching the rainstorm we had and the hot tub was the perfect ending to beautiful days. The firepit is also awesome! The lake was a short drive away (walkable) and very nice and quiet. We would definitely return!

The stay here was incredible! It had everything you could ever need. All you need to bring is food the rest is provided. Very clean space as well. Really liked the fact that we could bring our two little dogs with us.
Highly recommend this place and the owner is very obliging and answers all questions if any in a very timely manner!
5 stars for sure

Lovely place! The bed and pillows are a good quality and everything is spotless. Took a while to find because we use an app that must not be up to date? But when we did find it we were pleasantly surprised. We rent cottages quite often, having sold ours, and this was one of the best. Modern, clean and well detailed. Hopefully we can visit again in the summer so that we can use the beach

Brendan has an amazing vacation home in this rental. It is spotlessly clean, modern and has everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. He has seemingly thought of everything one would need on vacation in this house. We would highly recommend it and would do it again. The only potential drawback we could see is that no houses are yet built or are being significantly built on the adjacent abutting lots. When those houses are being built, or when they are put up, this could somewhat impact upon the experience. We did not use the lake during our stay. The outside hot tub is a great addition!

We had a great little rainy get away. The screened in porch was perfect for still be outdoors despite the weather. Everything was clean, and the cottage is well stocked.

We went to this property for a few nights to get away and we were absolutely blown away. This property has been beautifully built and fitted to that of luxury hotel standards. It was private enough and we were able to spend our time relaxing by the fire, in the hot tub or just around the cottage.
There are no cottages built next door yet, but they are coming, we did spend one morning listening to a chainsaw but that is to be expected. It is a cottage surrounded by trees in a neighborhood of cottages, so your bound to hear others at some point.
Brendan provided great detail on the day of booking and followed up with check out details. Great location and a fantastic cottage with providing a great guest experience in mind

We had a lovely time at this property. It was baby friendly and close to the Ross Farm museum (that our little one loved). The hot tub was excellent for after the one year old was in bed. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet winter break.
