A beautiful property. Gorgeous views of the Douro River Valley. Spacious rooms. Comfy common areas. Helpful staff. We were made to feel at home, and we did.

Beautiful Douro region, lovely Inn, helpful enthusiastic knowledgeable staff, excellent wine tour/information, peaceful, walkable near the vineyards… an ideal getaway.

Staying at Quinta da Gricha was a great experience. The property is beautiful, nestled on hills with beautiful vineyards. The staff are remarkably helpful and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed having dinner on the property rather than traveling to outside restaurants, and we also took advantage of the wine tasting and tour.

The views are amazing. The staff was great, especially the ladies in the kitchen. Would highly recommend dining at the lodge and enjoying the surroundings with a fine glass of wine.

Our stay at Gricha was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. The Quinta was beautiful. We loved walking through the vineyards with the dogs. After venturing out in Douro for the day it was nice to have dinner available and enjoyed the wines suggested. Stay here!

The location was gorgeous with spectacular views, a welcoming fire in the fireplace, friendly helpful staff, and great breakfast spread. There were informative books in the living room that inspired us to add sights to our visit. It was a relaxing, restoring visit after lots of driving.

We had an incredible few days staying at Quinta da Gricha. The Quinta was exceptionally clean and well designed and the view was spectacular. The staff were very knowledgeable of the property, it's history and of course the port and wine making activities on the estate and provided very relaxed but informative tours and tastings. With the Quinta having only a few rooms, you are able to enjoy a very chilled and intimate experience in the Douro Valley. The staff are incredibly accommodating and provided a high level of service, even bringing us port cocktails to the pool without needing to ask for anything. The food (and of course wine/port offering) was local and excellent and whilst there isn't a huge array of options for dinner, for a 2 night stay this was not an issue. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to fully experience the Douro Valley, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Quinta da Gricha.

We adored everything about Quinta da Gricha. The staff, home cooked meals, and wine were amazing, and the landscape is breathtaking. Can’t wait to return!

In the hills overlooking the Douro River valley this place is stunning. The view from the dining room (great food), porch, our room and the infinity pool are awe inspiring. We walked the vineyard with the friendly dogs and watched the workers stomp grapes.

Quite simply one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Would go back tomorrow! Luiz our host was just awesome. Food was impeccable. Location is perfect. When can I return?!

Getting here is half the fun and exhilarating! The reward is a peaceful, beautiful retreat with the most attentive staff. The room is large and beautifully simple (a good thing) with the world's most magnificent view of hills of vineyards and the Douro River. It'a very quiet retreat. No TV but plenty of books and table games. We got pretty good at pick up sticks! The meals were home cooked and delicious. This is a place that would be hard to find anywhere else

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful and relaxing time. The rooms are very spacious, with fantastic views. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all were exquisite. Luis and his staff went out of their way to make the entire experience perfect. We will definitely return!

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at this property. The area is so picturesque and the check in hosts were so lovely and kind. The property is so beautiful, away from the touristy vineyards and a nice escape if you prefer somewhere more secluded and quiet. The Quinta had multiple common spaces inside and outside and it was lovely to watch the sunset and drink a glass of wine outside in their garden. A bonus are the dogs, miru and kika who love all the pets. Highly recommend this place.

This was simply a wonderful experience. It began with Luis and staff’s excellent customer service. They made sure you were taken care of and made to feel at home. The winery perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the Duoro River and surrounded by the vineyard is breathtaking and memorable. The facilities are modern, the rooms large and comfortable, and the breakfast very good. The wine tasting experience was fun and informative. We didn’t swim in the pool but it looked beautiful and inviting. We enjoyed our walk among the vines with the house dogs as our companions. Highly recommend.

This property was fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the intimate Quinta. Getting to the tucked back stay is well worth it for the views, the pool, and the fabulous staff. Cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. Highly recommend to others!

This was a delightful property to stay at. Tranquil and relaxing. It offers great views over the Douro valley. It is a working vineyard and is well appointed with a beautiful pool, plenty of parking, vege garden on site.
The drive there is on a narrow road but don’t let that put you off it’s well worth it. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The communal dinner was a highlight. Excellent food (as was the beautiful breakfast the next day) and fantastic company with fellow guests. Great conversations, fabulous wine and a most relaxing night indeed.
We stayed at another Quinta which despite being rated higher was no match with this beautiful property.

A small bolt hole, 4 rooms as part of a working winery hidden well off the beaten track. Great staff & simple meals with local wine make it a relaxing place to stay. You can tour the vineyard and winery or simply relax by the pool but it’s definitely a place to recharge your batteries. The bed was comfortable, linen and towels good. Nice lavender toiletries provided and a fabulous marble bathroom which has given me some ideas ;)
Be aware: the drive down to the house is a challenge (we did it on a heavily laden touring motorbike and it was pretty hairy). I think that’s why people end up doing half or full board here.

Like something out of the movies! Most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed at.
