Location was great!

The property is located well, the problems were with the condition & communication of the owner of the unit! Especially when paying up front for a month rent & having to buy my own paper products! Having a miserable bed & bedding! The toilet, drains & bathroom fan need replacing! Not happy with Vacasa!!

This unit was very clean and the view while sitting on the lanai was stunning! The Islander grounds and pool are beautiful. We plan to stay here on our next visit to Kauai.

Could upgrade to a frig w/ freezer; add clothes hooks in bathroom; clean/new covers on sofa cushions. Everything else was as shown in pictures. Overall pleasant experience staying in this unit.

The view from the lanai was the best!-you could even hear the waves!!
Great location close to market and several restaurants. Loved it!!! Only negative I have is the bed needs a new mattress. Body prints..I woke up with sore back.

We loved the location, views, closeness to shops & restaurants, but were disappointed in our unit, definitely needs some upgrades, new furniture, paint and wifi in the unit would be nice. When it rains the downs pipe leaked water all over the lanai, making hard to sit out there….but we would definitely go back to Islander by the Sea. The complex is lovely & welcoming.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here, it’s clean, has nice pool and ocean views, has a balcony facing the ocean, good shower pressure and helpful front desk staff, also has a security. The downside? It’s outdated, no elevator and the mattress is a little soft! Will I stay here again? Maybe, if I can’t find a cheaper property

Super location in Kapa’a. The unit was overall ok but needs some maintenance.

So pleasantly surprised by the location, the view. Near everything you need, touristy shops, grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. Perfect location on the island for exploring! Easy drive to both ends. The amenities were adequate, no frills, needed some more towels (beach towels) was the the only necessity missing. The resort was fantastic, had a little bar on property that was nice with a good happy hour, BBQ grills on property that were very well maintained. Just across the parking lot was a little bar/restaurant with THE BEST burger I’ve had!! Other good restaurants in the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend!! We had a small issue checking in (did not get check in information beforehand) but the gal was available and helpful in getting us that info upon our arrival.

This is a private unit essentially located in a hotel. The hotel staff will not help you out or provide you with anything, you have to call the property manager if you have any issues. It is a nice location with a shopping center that has lots of restaurants and a really big convenience store where you can get various items.

Unit 304 was perfect for us for the 10’days we spent on Kauai. The location is central to everything and the room provided us with all thst we needed. The lanai was incredible allowing us a comfortable and picturesque view of the grounds view and ocean. Restaurants and a marketplace were within a short walking distance plus a cute bar hut located right next to the pool and hot tub! Who could as for more?

Great location - basic room, basic pool, hot tub, and pool bar. If you`re not planning to be in the room a lot and on a budget, this is a great option. The room was clean, had a nice welcome package, and really had everything that we wanted or needed other than extra space. It more along the lines of a hotel room with a small kitchen area that includes a sink, mini frig, microwave, coffee pot, etc. The location is really perfect. We never felt unsafe walking to and from, the parking was easy, and the grounds were very well taken care maintained. It`s super easy to access the island from this location. There are also several restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

The property was well priced, the resort location exceptional & specifically our room is perfectly placed to to enjoy the best view. It overlooks the resort pool and the beach so you get gorgeous sunrise/sunsets. The bed is softer than my back likes but that`s personal preference. The room itself was cozy and well maintained. You cannot hang things on the outside banister to dry so I wish there`d been a drying rack. Otherwise it had all you need.

We love the location. The view is good. You can see the swimming pool and the ocean at the porch. You can walk to beach in 2 minutes. But the beach is too dangerous to swim. The unit was clean. The air conditioner didn’t work when we arrived. It took me two phone calls to get it fixed. The mattress is too soft. It will be okay for me, a small person, but not comfortable for my husband. He complained about the bed and mattress which made his back pain. Over all I like the place and wish the mattress could be firmer.

Fantastic central island location next to some good restaurants, shops, coffee, and grocery. Nice view from the lanai. Great room location at front of property. Convenient outdoor bar by the pool, which closes at 9, like everything else.It is old but comfy. The bathtub clogged easily, even from sub 5 minute showers, but didn`t bother me a lot, but I was also staying alone. Was not fixed during my stay. This would not be good if two or more people were sharing.Keep in mind that you cannot use the onsite laundry since this unit is not part of the other property management company, but there is a great coin laundromat down the street (driving distance)Be very careful with the key. I locked myself out one morning at 6am and did not get back in my room until almost 10am. Local property contact was slow to respond; did not get reply until 830 or so. Thankfully, I had my wallet, phone, and car keys so I went and got breakfast somewhere but it delayed the start to my day so I had to skip a few things. The other management company can`t let you in. The room should upgrade to a key code entry or something to mitigate this risk. I have heard this happening before from the other company staff. I had plenty of towels for my stay. Room provides beach chairs, umbrella, and water shoes, which I did not use. Never used the AC for my stay. You will wake up early each morning from the roosters, but it is not a bad thing. Everything closes early anyway. You can walk on the beach right in front of the property. This is a VRBO specific problem, but I Was frustrated with the fees after booking. My per night price increased by 60-70%. They need to be transparent about this. It makes me seriously consider never using VRBO again. I could have stayed at a hotel or resort for similar post fee price point but wanted to give this a try.

This unit needs a complete refurbish. Everything in the unit — and I do mean everything is past the expiration date. Shabby. Also, upon arrival, crackers were on the floor and counter. We had 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Just not great. Very disappointing. Would not stay in a unit here unless it has been remodeled.

There are not enough words to describe how disappointed I am with Hula Now. 7/31/22 we went & checked in, went up to look at the room, unlocked the door before leaving but left our keys, purse and valuables in the room. Then we went to get our luggage from the car. Unfortunately, the door locked behind us and we were locked out. What I thought would be a simple resolution ended up with us being locked out of our room for 5+ HOURS. The `manager` that was supposed to be on site (and the contact we were assured would be able to assist us if there was anything wrong with our stay), answered my first call and then ghosted me for the other phone calls I made to her trying to get an update (over this 5+ hour timeline). THE ONLY way we were able to get in contact with someone who could help us was through a local locksmith (that we called because NO ONE with Hula Now would respond to our messages for 1.5+ hours) that had been called EARLIER THAT WEEK to break into a room with this same issue. He had the number of Dawn who was able to somewhat(?) assist. My question is this, if we didn`t take matters into our own hands and call this locksmith who *happened* to have a phone number, how long would we have been waiting then? I have a detailed timeline typed as well as all correspondence documented. I attempted to leave it in the review, but they have a character limit. Still, to this date (despite multiple emails and calls) - there has been no apology. No attempt to mediate. No empathy. No `how can we make this better for you?` Instead, it has been the blame game despite the universal acknowledgement that waiting 5+ hours to be let back into your room is absurd. If this is a reflection of their management, then I believe the new company slogan should be `Hula your way down to the next spot in paradise because we have no concern for our guests once they have paid.` I cannot emphasize enough, DO NOT BOOK with Hula Now.

We enjoyed our 6-night stay in this unit. Although the unit itself was a bit dated, it was perfectly adequate for all our needs. The bathroom was large, the unit provided two beach chairs and a beach umbrella and was located in a shopping plaza with restaurants, coffee, groceries all within walking distance. The best part of the unit is the lanai - you get a fantastic view of the resort grounds and ocean. We enjoyed sunrise almost every morning on the lanai. I highly recommend this unit for your stay!

We loved this location and room. Very laid back resort. Great price. The managers of the room were very accommodating when we needed to change one of the nights we were there. Will absolutely recommend this rental to our friends.
