One of the best properties in Nosara. Great staff. Great location. Great restaurant. Great surf school.

We really loved our stay at Sendero. It is a gorgeous hotel. We had a floor room right off the pool area. I was a tad nervous that it would be noisy at night with the restaurant a few steps away, but not at all. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the glass wall to the outdoor shower was beautiful. It was quite the experience. My husband is going through cancer treatment right now and he said this was his favorite and most comfortable hotel that we stayed at in Nosara. The AC was quiet and worked well during the hot week. We loved the complimentary coffee and banana bread in the morning and quiet time by the pool. The staff was very kind and helpful with arranging our ride to LIR and everything went smoothly. The only thing I didn’t like was they charged a resort fee of $50 per day and a $10 Nosara donation fee per day. I was surprised because this was not stated when booking through hotels.com. I discussed it with the concierge and she kindly refunded the charge on our Credit Card. There was also some construction going on. They are expanding - creating villas to the left of the property and still working on some rooms within the hotel as well. So there was some noise in the middle of the day, but it wasn’t too bad. I’m excited to see what they are doing. All in all, Sendero was a beautiful, safe and relaxing place to stay in Nosara. Location is perfect and a short walk to the beach and restaurants. You’re even greeted with coconuts! What a dream. Thank you!

Excellent last minute stay

Beautiful hotel, great interior and exterior design. Amazing location, very friendly hotel staff. But poor service at check in/out, didn’t seem like making sure guests would want to come back or stay longer is a goal.

I loved the ease of getting to the beach via a private beach path! The dining options around the hotel are also amazing (maximum 15 min walk). The hotel pool was great to dip in to cool off. Will be back another time!

The property and rooms are stunning.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant is expensive but was consistently great. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable. The hotel is located in a great area, walking distance to the beach and to great restaurants.
The only downside is the pool area. The pool is kind of small and does not get a lot of sun during day. It’s more like a lounging area rather than a pool you can swim. There’s few lounging chair and an interesting smell in that area (not horrible but bothered me a bit). I like to split the time between beach and pool and I did not feel great doing it there. For the rate they charge, I feel the cost/benefit is not quite there.

Beautiful spot steps from the beach. Staff is great. But it is ridiculously expensive and the restaurant is more expensive than DC or NY. There’s a pervasive septic tank smell that makes the $366 price tag for the room difficult to accept.

The place had lots of mosquitoes. They charged double what they should be for having staff that aren’t well trained. The dining area had dirty cushions. We left early and the only bonus was they gave us a refund. The location is good next to the beach but the pool is cold because it gets no sun. We will never be back and will consider lower cost cabins down the street. Lower the price or procide better service. It felt like a total rip off and we’ve been to Costa Rica five times. Nantipa is much much better for the price.

To enter into Sendero is to enter into an experience into itself. They’ve made the place feel huge while keeping it small, they have free coffee and free cookies every day. The restaurant has amazing food, drinks and the staff makes it a class of its own. Hi Ceasar btw! :)
The beds were the most comfortable of all of our stays, we wanted to buy the same mattress once we got home.
Unfortunately due to a family emergency we had to depart early but the staff made the entire process seamingless for us.
Only one draw back for me for Sendero is the amount of lounge chairs (4) for 26 rooms. When we wanted to just lay by the pool, it was usually impossible.
Great location, the beach is down a nice safe path and restaurants and shops are just a walk away or you can use of their complimentary bikes.
We’d love to return.

Truly a paradise. The staff/team is incomparable….kind, welcoming: the best!

The best food in Nosara. The rooms are very clean ,functional, quiet and charming with a very comfortable bed. Easy access to the beach. The staff was excellent and friendly. The plunge pool was a delight in the extremely hot weather we had while here. The only thing lacking here is a long swimming pool which is fine really because the beach is nearby.

The property was cleans beautifully, and the hotel staff was amazing. The restaurant food was amazing though the service was a little slow and we had to remind them of things at times. Other than that, the staff was incredibly accommodating and super full with getting reservations booked and helping us with our dog. The location is fantastic and the town is amazing.

Beautiful new property in what is now one of our favorite new places - Nosara! The hotel is gorgeous, impeccably designed. Staff is incredibly welcoming! Location is great quick walk to the untouched beach (no hotel is truly “on the beach” which is wonderful) and there is shopping around the corner including one of the few shops owned locally with products produced in the region. Breakfast was delicious and lunch and dinner was great! The menu seems off putting at first (geared towards Americans with “Nashville hot chicken” etc) but the food was absolutely delish- specifically the tuna fried rice. Hotel has everything you need- if you’re staying more than two nights- splurge and get a larger room! We purposely got the smallest room as we were only staying for the weekend. We can’t wait to come back!

Everything about this property was great. The front desk, waitstaff, housekeeping, and surf school staff were amazing and super friendly. The property itself is very well designed and intimate. The food was tasty. I will most certainly return when visiting again.

We had an incredible stay at Sendero! Everything was perfect: the location, the room, the service and the food.
Highly recommend staying in the jungle room - the outdoor shower and seating area was just perfect and the amenities in the room are well thought out. The service was excellent - everyone was genuinely friendly and we felt very much at home. The food was also excellent (recommend the tuna rice bowl at lunch and crispy rice tuna at dinner) - the best we had in the area frankly - and contrary to some other reviews, I found the prices comparable to similar type restaurants in the area. And of course the location was wonderful - loved the short forest walk to the beach. We also loved the "off-the-beaten path" feel of Nosara.
Special thanks to Nella for her extra attention and kindness during our stay.
Definitely one of the top spots in Costa Rica - we'll be back for sure!

This is a beautiful, new boutique hotel, within a quick walk to Guiones beach. Modern, eco-chic decor and warm, friendly staff made this a great stay. They were closing for a week for a construction project the day I was checking out but let me stay until my shuttle came late that afternoon. Super nice and accommodating! I’d definitely stay here again if I return to Nosara.
