::Our Mission at Jay Bear’s Retreat::
Currently, Jay Bear’s Retreat is home to one cozy cabin, Three Pines Cabin. But in just a few short months you’ll be able to experience nature at a new height in one of our unique treehouse cabins. These homes hidden in the trees will be nothing short of luxurious.
While the treehouse cabins provide a unique getaway for all, we have a very special mission at Jay Bear’s Retreat: “Giving families of special needs children the opportunity to make memories while enjoying all nature has to offer.” Our son, nicknamed Jay Bear, was born 14 weeks premature and spent the first 5 months of his life in the NICU. Our family knows first hand how important it is to spend time together, but how difficult it can be with so many doctor and therapy appointments. Once a month we will offer a family with a special needs child a free getaway to make new memories that will last a lifetime. As we grow, we plan to expand and use a portion of the rental income to build a third treehouse that will be used 100% for these special families.

We originally booked the one room cabin. On our way out the owner called and said there was an issue with the sewer in that cabin. They were working on it but they may not be done by the time we get there. So he upgraded us to the treehouse cabin at no extra charge. When we got there the workers were finishing up. The owner called and said we can still stay in the treehouse cabin. It was absolutely beautiful! So clean and Tyler the owner could not have been anymore helpful and wonderful. The cabin was centrally located. Would definitely stay there again

Wonderful little cabin in a great location! Very clean with comfy furniture and nice features like porch seating and great fire pit. It is on a road less traveled so very quiet and peaceful, yet minutes to Logan, hiking areas and a cute coffee shop. Some might find the loft ladder access daunting but I’m 70 and managed just fine!

The cabin is super cute and very clean. The ladder is a little scary to climb down.. so we ended up sleeping on the pullout couch which worked out perfect. The host was very quick and responsive with the few minor questions we had.
Only issue we had was the grill running out of propane. Also would like to note that it is very easy to trip the breaker in the house. The outlet above the kitchen sink shut off with only the toaster, light and griddle connected to it, even though it has room for 6 plugs. So just keep that in mind and the electrical panel is very easy to access! Overall had a great stay

I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay, the accommodations etc. My kids commented several times over that this was the nicest cabin we've ever stayed in. They said it had everything we needed. It's a small cabin, but me and my 3 teenagers thought it was great. Thanks

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. A little advice when first arriving google maps has the property a few drives down from the cabin. If the sign stuck out to be better visible from the road that would be cool. Other than that everything was fantastic and the owners seem really nice. Thank you.

The cabin was beautiful and VERY clean. We loved the super quiet and private setting. The fire pit was very nice both nights - with firewood that was nice and dry and easily accessible. Soft towels and linens too were also provided.
If we had to say we were missing something - it would maybe be a few more hand towels per each guest, maybe some dish towels for drying dishes and/or a dish rack. We cooked and used the nice dishes and glasses provided and so that was something we noticed. Oh and maybe some sharper knives - had trouble slicing a lime for my cocktail lol!
But overall…a FANTASTIC stay. We would definitely book this again. Thanks so much!

It was absolutely adorable and right in the middle of nature! We had such a relaxing time and enjoyed sitting on the porch and hiking the amazing trails only 20 mins away. We saw caves and climbed cliffs. We even got lucky enough that we woke up to snow. Which just made the property even more beautiful. Thank you to the hosts for letting us stay and for answer all our questions. We would 100% go back.

We took our first trip here in the summer of last year to celebrate our anniversary. We quickly admired the charm of the property and professionalism of the hosts. It's become a favorite destination for our retreats and plan on visiting each year!

Everything was perfect, only thing was the harder access to the loft using the vertical ladder that for a bigger guy was kinda hard to climb up.

The place was quiet and peaceful. The cabin was very clean. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy the fire pit but one is available and fully stocked with firewood. One thing we looked for was a stove and pot but there was an electric pot that we could have used and an electric griddle. We would definitely stay again.

The cabin was perfect! Upon arrival, everything was fully stocked, including soap, toilet paper, clean blankets and bath towels, and even water for the coffee pot. There were clean bowls and utensils in the kitchen if we needed to use them. The bed was made and everything was neat and tidy. Directions for move-in and move-out were very clear. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Property was more than we imagined. Clean and cozy with everything needed to make for a great long weekend, close to all Hocking Hills has to offer yet secluded enough to feel miles away from civilisation. Had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get away and relax.

My friend and I planned a short girls’ trip to Hocking Hills, and this cabin was the perfect place to stay for the two nights we were in town. It was clean, secure, and close to the parks. After a day of hiking, it was nice to come back and relax in such a quiet and peaceful setting. The owners did a great job of communicating with me and provided what we needed. There is no stove or oven, but we didn’t need that. We had dinner in town, and took breakfast and lunch out on the trails with us. This cabin is a great “home base” for a small group or individual looking to just spend a couple nights in the area.

We stayed in this adorable cabin that was perfect for two. It was so clean & decorated so cute. The host provided everything you could think of needing & was always there to reach out to if we had any questions. We would definitely recommend to others! My favorite part was being surrounded by so many tree & a lot of nature. It’s in a beautiful spot! We spent most of our time hiking then had a nice place to come back & relax. We can’t wait to see what else you do with your property!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful little cabin. It was very clean and comfortable and well-stocked- the hosts even left us a bottle of wine for our weekend getaway! The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout the stay, and they have clearly put a lot of thought into making the cabin a wonderful retreat. It was also centrally located to many of the area's hikes. Highly recommend. We can't wait to visit again.
