The hotel is beautiful and right in the centre of old Sousse. The roof top terrece is a great addition.

Everything is great, the room is colorful and beautiful, the place has a long history and was transformed to an hotel in a beautiful artistic way.
The suite we had was big with everything we needed, little fridge, small desk, closet.... and colors were amazing, it was perfect.
The breakfast was one-of-a-kind 🔥 very big a lot of variety, healthy, and made with love, it was the best breakfast we had in tunisia.
The staff are very welcome, cool, and nice ❤️
The cats are very cute
Briefly it's the perfect stay ❤️
Everything was perfect 👌🏻

Beautiful, peaceful. One of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had when travelling. First class.
Slightly hard to find but no problem really.

The room was beautiful and clean. There are a number of nice touches such as having drinking water in the room. The breakfast was outstanding, we could not ask for a better breakfast. The location was excellent.
The wifi during the day didn't work, music was playing in the courtyard all day, one day it went on until 9.30pm. As there is no soundproofing, it was inevitable to hear the music. The curtains are sheer, this needs to be addressed as it gives guests very little privacy. On the first night, the light from a guest room across from the courtyard was shining directly in the alcove where the bed was. The bed was ok and the pillows were hard and lumpy. As a hotel, the beds should be a priority to improve as you pay for a good night's rest after all.
The young staff, although we're pleasant they didn't offer any information. Small things like this would really help improve the overall feel of the place.

We loved our visit at Dar Lekbira! Owners and staff so incredibly helpful throughout. The hotel is beautiful and the breakfast was great (though we would have loved to eat it on the Terrasse in the sun if we could have!)
We loved the New Year’s Eve dinner and our second room was great!
Perhaps the cats..!

This is a beautiful property - the central atrium and adjoining rooms are gorgeous, and our room presented beautifully as well. Great location in middle of Medina. Lovely, friendly young staff.
Our room looked lovely, but the bed was set in an alcove that was quite airless and cramped. Bathroom looked great, but was a little ‘wet’ after showers. That’s us, when we could have a shower! No water on our return after a hot day .. not sure whose fault? Hotel said it was govt. restrictions, but we hadn’t come across this at any other hotel in our Tunisia travels. But would we stay here again in Sousse? Possibly!

The breakfast had a great variety.
Location was great for seeing everything.
Noisy at times from other guests
We found it a bit difficult to locate upon arrival, got help from a couple very nice local men.
Unfortunately the unofficial guides that are persistent and say it is Free for them to show us the sites, and won’t take No thanks as an answer and then want payment,

This is a very well run, clean and pleasant Dar in the medina of Sousse. We stayed 3 nights. We had a fantastic breakfast each day served in a very attractive breakfast room. The rooms - ours was very spacious - are placed around a beautiful courtyard and there is a beautiful roof terrace. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. the bed comfortable and the wifi reliable.
For those who cannot climb stairs it would be best to book a room downstairs as the stairs can be a bit steep. We found the towels rather thin. The place is in the medina, although closer to the edge, which is not fantastically lit at night, but we noticed it is rather residential, so there are people walking around.

Centrally located in Medina but be aware that you have to carry your luggage by yourself as no cars are allowed in Medina. Smiley English speaking staff. Organized trips with personal driver at a reasonable price. Nicely decorated room. Delicious breakfast which could however be served little earlier than 08:00.
The mattress at the bed is not good which makes the back to hurt. There was not enough water pressure in the bathroom.

Dar Lekbira was absolutely wonderful to stay at. It is even more beautiful in person compared to the photos, and it does a great job of balancing the traditional riad with modern amenities. There were lots of small touches like two teas (calming and digestive), rose water, and organic handmade soap in the room - the attention to detail made it special. I had a suite upstairs with a balcony, next to the stairs that go to the roof (a nice sitting area in itself). Everyone I met at Dar Lekbira was kind, personable, and helpful with any question that I had. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful - and slightly different each day. The location being in the medina is great because it made going out and about easy at any time of the day - very convenient. I would recommend anyone going to Sousse to stay at Dar Lekbira, as it definitely made my first visit to Tunisia comfortable and memorable.

A family has set up this boutique hotel - the father has chosen the (spectacular) colours of the walls, the daughter has provided the (amazing) interior design. The breakfast was fantastic and the hosts spoke Arabic, French and in our case helpfully English. Recently opened, we saw Japanese, Saudi, French guests in addition to us. Very secure as night time
porter, coffee and tea on demand and local knowledge provided for free. We would definitely stay again and have recommended to our adult married kids who also said “very instagrammable”. The host also supports local artisans and you can buy paintings, clothes and rugs but no pressure to buy - browsing so also ok.
nothing - it was perfect

It's a newly renovated beautiful mansion with very friendly and nice staff in the heart of old city. The room we stayed in was large and the breakfast was wonderful.
Few things to improve:
- the removable showerhead is not fixed so you'll need to hold it up yourself while taking shower which is very inconvenient
- wifi was very weak and intermittent in our room. It was better outside in the courtyard
- there was no hand soap in the bathroom, just shower gel and shampoo
- there were only very thin linen towels, not good for shower
- our room had only two windows opening to a small closed balcony so we didn't have much light inside or any view from our room

Absolutely wonderful restored traditional Tunisian property in the heart of the Medina, with a beautiful courtyard and large, attractive bedrooms, some with outdoor space. Don’t overlook walking to the very top of the stairs to the large roof terrace with panoramic views of the city. Breakfasts were expansive, albeit set meals, and evening meals were also set menus with little choice, but excellent food and generous portions. The two hosts were super-nice and helpful. The guesthouse is new so the location was initially hard to find as some locals hadn’t heard of it, causing problems for taxi drivers for the drop-off and pick-up four days later, but our host was most helpful sorting out the latter. And it took very little time to get orientated; the location in the Medina was ideal for visiting the Ribat, Grand Mosque, Kasbah and Archaeological Museum etc, as well as the multifarious shops, whilst also being walking distance to taxis and to the beach. All in all, the property was so ‘Tunisian’ and the hosts so welcoming that it was more like staying at a family’s house than at a hotel. Truly felt like an authentic Tunisian experience. Be sure to check out the handmade beauty products and handicrafts at the boutique. Got some lovely gifts.
Wi-fi could be unreliable, and the shower sometimes temporarily ran dry in the morning/ evening if other people were showering at the same time, but a minor inconvenience. A little more choice at meals would be welcome. But it seems churlish to complain about anything at such a fabulous property.

Location was fantastic - very central and easy to get about. The hotel was beautifully decorated. We had some lovely food their in the evening and breakfast was very good. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Great location in the medina, very tastefully decorated in local style. Spacious rooms and friendly owners. The cats that own the courtyard are friendly and fun to play with.
Some things regarding the styling are a bit "form over function". For example the decorations around the bed alcoves make it a bit hard to get in and out of bed. Also the WiFi was poor. The breakfast was fairly late a lot of the time we stayed there, a bunch of guests were usually waiting for it in the morning. Also it's not really possible to shower in the evening (only in the morning) without asking, as the water pressure in the medina is very low in the evening. There is no daily room cleaning which is a bit unexpected given the price point. The hamam at the hotel is decirative and not operational.

The house, lovely cats
The renovated building is really nice and it deserves to be praised, but the services were really disappointing. First of all, we chose to spent 3 nights in this facility to enjoy the hamman. We asked for the service but the owner told us that she was not able to prepare it alone, the first day, and the day after that there was no pression in the room. That's was very annoying for us, visiting Sousse out of summer season there is not that much to do, you just need few hours to visit la Medina and there is just a decent restaurant and therefore spending 3 nights there was absolutely too much.
The room was nice, but the bed wery uncomfortable, poor quality blankets and duvet consumed by the time. Apart from that, what was even worse was the fact that there was a lot of noise. The owner had her bluetooth speaker on in her suite on the ground and the music was spreading in all the building, the time we were in the room to take a rest was terrible.
The breakfast was not at all like the one you see in the pictures. The first one was very poor, cold coffee and we don't even had an orange juice, dishes and spoons. I think they were aware of the mistake, the day before we had hot coffee, dishes and everything we need (in terms of cutterly, still poor food).
I love the concept of renovate old tradizional house and I wish Dar Lekbira all the best, but I won't recommend it. The price Is very high considering not only the Tunisian standards but above all the services (don't) provided by the facility.

Beautiful and unique traditional building in the heart of the Medina. Wonderful staff and a delightful kitten.
Bed was not very comfortable (hard with lumpy pillows), though we did provide this feedback and anticipate improvements in the future.
