Good :- very close to the airport Room was a good size and warm.
Bad:-Shower a trickle all scaled up ; floor slippery, not bath mat had to put the towal on the floor to get out of the shower. No hairdry in room as advertised. Bed lumpy, very uncomfortable. Did sleep much. Could do with a lot off improvements. Wouldn't stay again or recommend.

Good location but very limited evening bus service from the airport. The 308 arrives at the airport from Great Dunmow at about 21.20 and returns immediately to Takeley, before going out of service. My driver was prepared to take me to Takeley Street / Stansted Airport Lodge as it was on her way back to the depot. This bus isn't shown on any of the airport timetables.

This was convenient and the room was clean. On arrival the man on reception did not smile or welcome us, and asked us to wait while he went to the toilet. He came out with wet hands which he shook hard to dry them. I was then charged £6.10 to park my car outside. He again asked us to wait while he put towels and pillow cases in the room. He never mentioned food but there was a poster about it in the room. However, no sign of it - we ate at the Green Man. We had to leave for our flight at 2.30am and got very little sleep because of a loud party of men downstairs until after midnight. In the morning there were numerous lager cans in reception (photo available!)

The restaurant was not open and I had booked because of this facility. My last night was noisy. The room itself was fine and the staff helpful.

Convenient location in close proximity to Stanstead airport. The 508 bus is handy to be dropped off within 100yds and get back to the airport again. Room info needed updating as no dining options. TV signal was hit and miss and my shower was leaking. However, I would use this place again due to convenient location and reasonable price.

The worst hotel I have stayed in with not so good consequences for me as I write this. First, I booked this hotel because it was on the cheaper side and I just needed somewhere to stay before my trip in the morning. I had a flight first thing at Stansted. Getting to the hotel without a car is an absolute nightmare. Don't bother taxis will charge you excessively, and you are better off staying a bit further away. When I arrived at my Uber it wasn't clear where the entrance was, the pictures don't match the building I was in and the room I stayed in. I was greeted by a man who I don't think speaks to people in general. Finally was told my room on the first floor, room 27, and found my way pretty quickly. By midnight on 18th August, I dropped my bags and went to sleep. Woke up at 8.30 am got dressed got my things ready and was out of the hotel by 9.30 am that same day. After dropping off my luggage at baggage at around 10 am I started to get a slight red spot on my face. By the time I had completed my journey which was 10 pm UK time I was covered in rashes over my arm, chest, neck, ears, face all the places that were left open when I slept on the bed at the hotel. It was like I had been bitten by mosquitos. As soon as I landed at my destination I had to go straight to the hospital. They described it as an allergic reaction but I am not allergic to anything and as for that day and week I did nothing differently apart from staying there. Don't make my mistake, stay away!

Stop off for a flight from stanstead a bit noisy with people moving around with cases through the night and very basic but was fine for what we needed

Guy on reception was friendly and chatty but that was the only positive. The place just feels unloved, old tatty carpet, damp smell, dusty, mouldy smell, bed was bit uncomfy, half a toilet roll, light bulb missing, cracked wobbly bathroom tiles, door bashes sink if opened fully, no shower curtain, limescale on showerhead, tiles still dirty, streaky mirrors and most annoying 1 coffee sachet! I use two per cup. Definitely not value for money. Wasnt expecting much for £50 but cleanliness was lacking. No attention to detail eg linen sticker from laundry still on sheet

I stayed one night as I needed the airport close. Nice staff at reception, quick check-in, car park. The room and the bathroom were very spacious but level of cleanliness quite low (I had to get rid of dirty bed sheets myself). Comfortable bed

Ideal for what it does, stay overs for a morning flight.

Price was good as well as location and staff were friendly, however there was no hot water so I could not use the facilities. The main door to the building was left open all night which made me feel unsafe and people were slamming doors and talking into the early hours of the morning. The door to my room did not lock properly either and the room in general was not clean at all.

1) Doesn't have an airport shuttle even though the listing claims it has, Taxi is £23 one way making the stay way more expensive than it seems.
2) TV not working for most channels (see photo)
3) Decor tatty, bed uncomfortable, no seating, bathroom tap leaking

Guy on the desk at check in was the best part of staying here. He was lovely. Room was dirty, no milk provided for coffee, shower leaked, toilet didnt flush properly, bedding wasnt clean, dusty fixtures, carpets up to the room looked like they hadnt been vacuumed for a year, door didnt lock so we had to barricade it during the night, kettle was dirty, housekeeping guy knocked on the door at 9am, obviously didnt respond because we were asleep and then he continued to knock for over ten minutes until i shouted that we were in bed. Went down for a phonecall and got hounded on the stairs asking when im leaving. Wouldnt stay here again.

Really lovely people but there were bugs everywhere the floor had stuff all over it the bed felt dusty and the bathroom was just a bit unclean. Also throughout the night there was a constant beeping noise in the corridor

It was way too far from the airport, taxi cost a fortune.. if you got one. Very old house, creeking flooring, sadly no hair dryer.

Be aware that, contrary to the description, there is NO airport shuttle, NO bar, NO restaurant. There were no towels in the bathroom. There was a large dead spider on the ceiling. The kettle had not been emptied and cleaned and was unusable. Spend a little more and book somewhere else.

The room appeared to be neat. I dropped my knitting needle on the floor and while looking for it, I found there to be quite a bit of dust under the bed. When I went to take a shower, the edge of the shower door was cracked and it poked my thumb which bled a little. The number one reason I chose this place is because the bus came right at the door. I found out after I got there that the bus does not come on Sunday. So I needed to pay 27 pounds for a 5 minute taxi to the airport. They said they were 1.5 miles from the airport.

The bed was very uncomfortable, like a marshmallow it sunk in the middle and the room was very dark, very dim lighting

Poor hotel. Do not stay. Id like a rwfund as we did not stay and checked in elsewhere

I missed missed my flight and had to find a reasonable priced hotel to spend the night. If I knew what I was putting myself into, I wouldn't stayed there even if it was free. I had a prison cell size room in top floor that was just painted, but the window was broken and didn't close well. It had no electricity and the guy at the reception had to come and fix it. The mattress was very hold and the springs completely shot and impossible to sleep on it. Furthermore the mattress cover was missing, only a thin sheet was covering the nasty and hold mattress and I had to asks for some towels to cover it. The bathroom smelled like sewer and I had to keep the door closed the all time, the faucets were old and disgusting.
Not having a car to and the only way to move around was by taxi, which I had to take to get to the airport.
The worst hotel I have been!!!!!

It was the worst place i have ever been to, they need to do a lot of work to make this place possible to be in

For £59 a night I was not expecting much, therefore I wasn't too surprised by the spider webs above the bed. Otherwise, the room seemed clean, the bed too and we had 2 clean towels. Unfortunately, we had to sacrifice one towel to the bathroom floor because the shower bassinet was leaking like crazy. On top of that the water was lukewarm so if you like to take a hot shower, this is not the place.
The worst thing about the stay was the not flushing toilet. That was just awful.

Noisy could hear upstairs weeing, next door talking, bathroom smelt of mustiness, two half used toilet rolls for a week, two towels for a week, they came in made bed and left, no hairdryer, only a kettle. No restaurant or bar on site. Very disappointing. Bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in. Left after day 1 was meant to be there 5 nights.

friendly and supportive welcome.
Facilities are there but it need some general housekeeping/diy to update. Water pressure was very bad.
However for what you pay it is a good hotel.

Needs a little TLC but a good nights sleep

Online it claims to have a restaurant - it doesn't, wifi doesn't work, no possibility to book the airport shuttle although it claims to provide that service, the "wardrobe" was a hook on the wall with one plastic hanger. Only light switch and light by the door - no beside light or switch. Alarm call for the morning not available. The room smelt musty and the bathroom smelt worse.
The young man staffing the wonky table which serves as reception was helpful but nothing he could do to improve the stay.

Come home to parking ticket and I was only parked there while waiting at reception parked my car down the road and still got a ticket from this hotel

It would be useful to have a leaflet in the room informing of bus times to and from the airport and a better idea of where it is possible to eat. Information can be updated every day if, for example, the nearest eatery is closed, as it was during my visit. There needs to be better acoustic insulation between rooms.

The location is not as close to the airport as it looks on the map and there are no shops or restaurants nearby (and nothing in the "hotel"). The bathroom smelled foul and you couldn't keep the door closed. The metal strip on the floor was loose and bent up at each end. The hot and cold on the basin were the wrong way round and the plug did not keep the water in. The bed had no headboard and no mattress protector, just a thin but clean sheet over the mattress; and the duvet cover was clean. The TV was old, in bad condition, only received a few channels was was not capable of playing MP4 files via the USB. The nicest area was reception!
4.0
Hotel was reasonably clean and tidy only problem you had to pay to park on there premises which I think is a joke so I parked across the road for free other than that was good and did it's job

Can't complain for the price. I was just looking for a cheap hotel near stansted before catching my plane and it did the job perfectly. Its really close to the airport and there is a bus right next to the hotel....definitely recommend.

Absolutely awful got extra parking charges for a few hours
Bitten to pieces by bed bugs
Still suffering from swollen itchy welts
Never again
Staff not bothered

Probably the worst hotel I have ever visited. Last minute emergency booking. Unclean damp room, draft, no light, broken shower. Reception guy was miserable and unhelpful. Disgraceful.
2.0
This place does exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing too fancy, not the cleanest place out there, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the kettle works great.
Not a lot to complain about if you're not expecting The Bellagio in Vegas.
Overall, it was good experience.
I also walked from Stansted airport both ways, which took about an hour and this was an excellent substitute for sleeping on an airport floor. There's also a bus that runs right past it to the airport, which could also be nice.
