About this house rental
Summary:
1B/1BA cozy cabin with large deck space, fenced in yard, and incredible mountain views from all rooms, deck, and hot tub. Watch the sun go down while sitting in the hot tub or while grilling on the upper deck. Then retreat down to the fenced in yard and make some smores while sitting around the fire pit. Walking distance to downtown Chimney Rock, restaurants, Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery, and Chimney Rock State Park.
The Space:
The cabin is a well appointed 450 sq ft space that has everything you could need; whether you're using the cabin as a home base for your adventures and exploring, or if you plan to cozy up and stay put.
THE DECK
The deck, y'all. Rain or shine, this is the place to be. Our guests geek OUT about the covered deck, and here's why:
As you walk up the stairs to the upper deck, you are greeted with the breathtaking, direct view of Chimney Rock State Park, including a 400+ ft waterfall. It's so close, too! You'll feel like you are a stone's throw away (and depending on your arm, you might be!) As we are perched directly above Chimney Rock Village, you will also notice the sound of the Broad River that runs alongside the village.
The magic doesn't stop there. There is a small waterfall adjacent to the cabin, so you will often be able to see (winter views) and hear it as well.
The cabin is surrounded by evergreen pines and oaks, so there is a private, secluded feeling to the cabin. You get the best of both worlds - privacy and close proximity to restaurants and shops.
Cozy up on the outdoor couch, or on the porch swing.
Enjoy dinner al fresco at the high top table, and watch the sun go down behind the mountain.
BEDROOM
Sunlight shines in on three side through large windows and glass sliding doors that provide a direct view of Chimney Rock State Park. Enjoy gazing at the waterfall from the super plush king sized bed, made up with luxury linens. A smart tv is mounted on the wall and has access to your streaming accounts, as well as complimentary Youtube TV.
BATHROOM
The full bathroom has a walk in shower and excellent water pressure. Paraben free Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.
KITCHEN
This sweet little kitchen is fully stocked so you can really throw down some impressive culinary masterpieces here! Let's say you've been fully enjoying using the outdoor grill the past couple nights and want to switch it up. Easy! We have pots, pans, casserole dishes, baking sheets, a stove, microwave, George Foreman grill (great for some killer paninis), a ninja blender, flour, spices, oil....you name it!
LIVING ROOM
Cozy up on the super comfy leather couch and pick your view! Look straight ahead, you've got a large smart tv to watch your favorite streaming apps. Look left, you've got a pretty sweet view of the mountains and waterfall. There's a conveniently positioned reading lamp as well, so that you can enjoy a great book, or reading through our detailed guidebook that is filled with suggestions of fun things to do during your visit!
Grab your smores kit and head down to....
THE FIREPIT
Enjoy a fire using a complimentary bundle of firewood and smores kit. Sit back in the Adirondack chairs and gaze up at the star studded night sky. On a clear night you can easily lose count of all the shooting stars you might see.
Guest Access:
The front door is located up the stairs at the end of the deck. There is a walkout basement area but it is used for storage and supplies, so guests will not have access. The key pad code will be given 1-2 weeks before your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Beautiful area with incredible views. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are the foothills of Western North Carolina. An outdoor enthusiast dream! Walking distance to downtown Chimney Rock but still secluded to give you privacy.

The amazing views and great town made for a great trip! Between the bunnies, birds, and bears there was always someone roaming the property, which was a treat.
After hiking through all of the trails at Chimney Rock, coming back to soak in the hot tub and watch the stars capped off perfect evenings. We would definitely recommend this location and these hosts - who were also amazing.

We actually stayed at this property for 2 nights, then returned the next week for 3 nights because it was so wonderful! Clean, so many little helpful nuances, incredible view, and fabulous hot tub. The porch was perfect with plenty of seating; such a nice and quiet place to sit and read. Enjoyed that it was just a few minute walk to town, and literally 3 minutes to the entrance to Chimney Rock park. Close proximity to Lake Lure with a few more restaurants and the beach. Only about 40 minutes to Asheville for anything else you’d like to do.

Most beautiful mountain and waterfall views. Bed was very comfortable. Owners were very accommodating. Enjoyed the hot tub in its private setting with view of waterfalls and mountains. Would definitely go back. I’m 82 and my wife is 72 and we got around very well.

My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway and from the moment we got there we loved it. The cabin was very clean and it had all the things you might need while being away! We did a ton of hiking around the area and really enjoyed the hot tub. You can never get enough of the waterfall views and sounds, so relaxing. The location makes you feel so secluded but you’re still so close to the town it was really great! We would come back!

We chose to spend Thanksgiving in Chimney Rock and this cabin was perfect! I’ve stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and the hosts here are the best I’ve ever encountered. Responded quickly to all my questions leading up to our arrival and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were happy. Just can’t tell you what great hosts they are! Every little detail was provided for, coffee, firewood, dog treats, snacks, shampoo, etc, etc. The cabin itself is exactly as described in the VRBO listing and it’s in a perfect location convenient to Chimney Rock Village. The cabin was extremely comfortable and we loved having the fenced yard for our sweet pup to enjoy… Absolutely recommend this beautiful property!

It was amazing! The best view we have ever had on a cabin weekend. Highly recommend. Our doggos loved having the fenced in yard as well.

This romantic cabin has the best of both worlds. The location feels secluded, but you can walk into town on foot. It's a quick 15 minutes to the grocery store, and plenty of attractions are nearby. We stayed in December and had no worries about staying warm as we took advantage of the hot tub, fire pit, indoor fireplace, and heated bathroom all with spectacular views of Chimney Rock. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own towels, as we each had only one towel for showering and using the hot tub for our 4-night stay.

We loved everything about this cabin - very cozy, clean, and well equipped. It was the perfect size for a couple and our dog. Our favorite part was the covered porch - what a view! Top notch! It was the perfect place to start and end our days. The cabin was also a great location for exploring the area. We visited Asheville/the Biltmore, DuPont State Forest, Hendersonville, Craggy Gardens along the Blue Ridge Parkway, etc., but also enjoyed Chimney Rock - friendly folks, some good restaurant options, and also has great access to the Broad River for our dog to take a dip. We definitely hope to stay here again!

I can’t say enough great things about this wonderful, cozy cabin. My husband and I, along with our two pups couldn’t have been more happy or comfortable. One of the most clean, and well appointed rentals we have stayed in. The back porch was where we spent most of our time, with a view of the gorgeous waterfall and Chimney Rock, why stay inside! The fenced in yard was perfect for the dogs and helped us relax even more, knowing they could safely sniff all the wonderful new smells! The king sized bed was so comfy, and the linens were nice and soft, which can sometimes not be the case in rental property. The location is great, very close to Chimney Rock State Park entrance and ‘Main St’, which has shops and a few restaurants, but still very secluded and quiet. Very easy and short drive to Lake Lure, where we rented a pontoon for the day. Cate and Mike have truly thought of everything to make this quaint cabin home away from home! 5 stars and 4 paws up!

The property was exactly as advertised. It was very clean, had all of the needed amenities (coffee, a few snacks, even dog treats). The scenery was fantastic, what a great view of Chimney Rock. The drive up to the cabin is a bit tricky - but no problem really and worth the seclusion and yet still close to town. Our older dog struggled a bit with all of the stairs outside the cabin, but the nice fenced in back yard made up for it. We caught a glimpse of a black bear in the ravine next to the house, from a safe distance. Overall it was a great summer rental, just what we were hoping for. I would certainly return.

In the 12 years Mike and I have been renting cabins, never has there been one quite this perfect. Between the views, the comfortable bed, the fenced yard, and the hot tub; as well as the proximity to dining, beer/wine, and shopping while still being incredibly private...it was just wonderful!
We enjoyed a couple days in Asheville and a couple days hanging out in Chimney Rock/Lake Lure. We had a breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Medina's and definitely recommend them...try to catch them on wood fired pizza night! We hope to return again. Thanks to Mike & Cate for making our 1st wedding anniversary very memorable!

Sweet little cabin, walks distance to Hiking, sights and dining and an easy 25min scenic drive to TIEC. We stayed for the 2018 WEG, but I can see myself back here for regular USHJA shows in the future.

The cabin is amazing. Tucked away so no one can see you or vice versa. Has a nice charm to it. It's very quiet except for the occasional motorcycle or big rig passing through in the village. People om the village below are very nice. Only problem we had was a dip in the gravel road that scratched up the bottom of our car's front fender and we had to use rocks in that dip to keep it from happening again.
No big deal. Will definitely be back!

My honey and I stayed July 11-15th and it was one of the nicest little cabins we ever stayed in. It was clean, cozy and very private. The kitchen was well stocked! For those that like to cook; you know what I'm talking about. We used the grill almost every night. The best part was the view, the sound of Hickory Nut Falls and the lightening bugs in the evening. . We loved everything about the cabin and the hosts were very attentive to our needs. After 18 years, we proposed to each other and we are getting married 10/31/2020. We recommend this cabin to anyone that loves romance, a great view and privacy.
If you are into waterfalls and hiking, we definitely recommend a drive to Catawba Falls. It was one of the most enchanting and beautiful hikes we've ever been on.
Love and light to you all!

My first experience with VRBO and it was very positive experience! The cabin is set in a quiet and secluded spot nestled up against the mountain. Views from the cabin porch are of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls. It is very quiet and peaceful, with only the rare street noise briefly interrupting the day from the nearby Chimney Rock Village. The Village itself is an easy walk down the mountain, a slightly less easy walk back up, and makes for a great location since you do not need to fight for a parking spot during the day. We enjoyed the hot tub in the mornings and the peacefulness throughout the day with the covered porch being our favorite place to hang out and experience nature. There is a full sized propane grill on the porch that was very clean when we arrived, and we made use of it several times during our stay. Overall, a great vacation experience!

Mike and Cate,
After years of coming to this area and staying on the lake, we are totally sold on your beautiful mountain retreat. It was so relaxing to spend just about every waking moment on the porch enjoying the view, the privacy, and the sounds of nature. We will definitely be back!

Loved everything about the cabin. We'll be back for sure. We loved that no matter where you were in the cabin you could see the falls, incredible! Even washing the dishes was a delite because of this, and I can't stand to do dishes on vaca. but the
the view was well worth it!! Thanx for the memories! MNR

Mike and Cate were very great and checking on us to make sure everything was up to our expectations. the cabin is so close to Chimney Rock Village but yet it seems so far away it is so quiet and secluded. Can't wait to book our next stay. Timothy and Robert

We absolutely loved our time at the Rockview Cabin! The views are spectacular and the cabin had everything we needed. The location is perfect- close enough to walk to Chimney Rock village but feels completely secluded. We loved our time there!

Cabin is in a great location near everything. Hosts are fantastic and checked in after we arrived to make sure everything was in order. We spent time at the lake as well as Hendersonville and Asheville. Views are amazing and house is very well maintained. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

Have stayed at many western NC rentals and this has the best view so far. It is difficult to decide between staying on the deck and enjoying the view of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Gorge/Falls or exploring the surrounding area. The hot tub is a nice amenity from a long day of hiking or mountain biking.
It is a quick walk down to town for eating...or bringing takeout back to the deck to take in the amazing view.
Will definitely return!

A pure slice of heaven! Mike was so very accommodating and we had everything we needed! Minutes away from superb restaurants and an Ingles grocery store

The 3 of us (1 is 4-legged) stayed at Rock View Cabin in mid-May. The cabin was great and had everything we needed, but the real star of the show is the scenery. It's AMAZING. Maybe the cabin should be called "Waterfall Cabin" too because there's a great view of Hickory Nut Falls, and if you get any rain like we did, numerous smaller waterfalls will appear out of the hills surrounding the cabin. What a great sound to fall asleep. Overall, this was a great place to stay, and close to the quaint little town of Chimney Rock. Also, very close to Lake Lure which was very nice. Check out Chimney Rock State Park and the Flowering Bridge. Can't wait to come back!

My wife and I were looking for an escape w/o our darling 3 y/o daughter. Could not have asked for a better location, accommodations or VIEW. The cabin was clean and well equipped. And besides the epic view... it actually had a really comfortable bed! Already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you!

My wife and I love the Mountains and being outdoors and this was the PERFECT getaway! Convenient to everything we wanted to do. Beautiful location and scenery! We WILL be coming back. The VIEW, The Sounds, The Sunsets, The Privacy - AWESOME!

Wow, the scenery, peace and comfort here were amazing. Mike and Cate thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and delightful. The view is even more spectacular than in the pictures, it is always there to marvel at each time you step onto the porch or look out the windows. It is so peaceful and private and a wonderful location to be close to the places you'd like to see yet still feel the serenity of a retreat. We went to the grocery store and were able to prepare many meals in the fully operational kitchen and the great gas grill outside! The hot tub was also a wonderful feature and you can hear the waterfall on the property as a relaxing soundtrack to your stay. They left a nice resource book to answer any questions and they were great at getting back to our communications. The cabin was also very clean and contained everything we needed. We would love to return again! Thank you so much Mike and Cate, you two are such a blessing!

I totally enjoyed my stay in this lovely cabin. Very peaceful, but also close to things. Everything you need is here. The place was super clean and well organized, by extremely thoughtful planners! Every time I had a question, response was clear and prompt. Comfy with a view to die for. Thank you M &C.
